Is 'cancel for any reason' truly any reason?
...such as "I paid $2000pp at final payment and now the room is on for $900pp and I'd like to rebook at the lowr rate (or book the subsequent week)"?
Travel insurance is generally a poor deal for the consumer but if a person could do this, it might level the playing field.
Yep, any reason.
Just remember you're not getting a refund, but rather a future cruise credit (75% or 90%) that can only be used with NCL. I don't know if the credit can be transferred like CruiseNext certificates or not.
-
I had to cancel a cruise last minute, and I had NCL insurance (platinum).
I got the 90% future cruise credit after a few weeks. Paperwork was pretty painless.

If I remember correctly, Moderno’s has breakfast buffet in the morning .nobody knows about it so don’t tell anybody! Nice and quiet
They stopped doing that, at least on the BA.

BA will most definitely be late "today" getting to GSC, tendering is then the question - looked like scheduled arrival is 10 AM and leaving @ 6 PM. She's running almost 20 knots now per AIS data & on tracking sites, but a very rough eyeballing - still another 100+ nm in distance to cover before getting to the island chains, just rounding & approaching Freeport to its north/portside. From ship's webcam: sunny & seas looking calm enough.
Lunch on the island today, looking doubtful to me by the time they come to a full stop, load & transfer supplies & launch the first double decker to go ashore - maybe, mid-afternoon BBQ is possible.
Sunset is around 5:45 PM - based on data for nearby Nassau ... ooookay.
The rush for those first tender spots is going to be insane.
-
And it lives again in what, 3 hours?
They'll have to leave later than that. The BA takes on a lot of supplies in Port Canaveral.
-
Only time I ever missed GSC was when the Gem's azipods broke.
-
They were only using the blowers for the first few days of the trip, so by maybe the 4th or 5th day they were gone
Was the smell gone?
-
That's disappointing to hear they're still running blowers to dry the carpets, and that the ship is musty.
-
Try going a few days without Mountain Dew. Your body will thank you.
-
They don't want people stealing the hangers.

How much TIME do you spend on the internet? You can buy time blocks as well that are probably considerably cheaper.
For some reason on the BA class ships they do it by MB's and not by time.
You can blow through your free 250 mb package in the blink of an eye if you land on the wrong website.

Ultimate Cruise Plan (all ships)
Per day price for voyages 1-12 days$29.99* USD
It says 1-12 days...does that mean on a 14 day cruise you only get access for 12 days?
Nevermind I see the option for longer cruises now.
Dammit....if it wasn't for the Internet price I'd pull the trigger on this cruise in a second. $599 solo inside GTY for the 14 day BA leaving tomorrow!

Looking at 14 day cruise, but need Internet to stay in touch with work. Is it the usual $29.99/day regardless of cruise length? If so, that's an extra $419 just in Internet fees. That's a lot.

The ropes and slides are not working.
Not a lot of kids on a 14 day cruise in January anyway.
-
Any bad smells from wet carpets?
-
For someone with small kids, the tub is worth it alone.
No tubs on BA class ships.
-
Cagneys was a big let down the last two times I was on the BA.
-
I guess that big shower and an extra sink is worth a few hundred dollars to some people?
On the Gem class it does make sense, I think. The balconies on minisuites are substantially larger. I was able to get a lounger out there with room to spare. But on the BA class ships the balcony/minisuite balconies are identical, and the rooms are almost the same.

You are now allowed to bring ONE full or partial bottle of water aboard. This is at embarkation and at each port.
I don't think this is correct. You can't bring water on the ship at the embarkation port.
You can bring empty bottles.I do it all the time.
-
Can anyone on the current sailing confirm if the ship reeks?
-
With that much flooding and soaking of carpets, I wonder if the BA is going to start smelling a little musty in the coming days...
-
I am on the Gem now. Captain is wonderful, went thru storm, 100mph plus winds, 40 plus foot waves, did fine. Were indoors first day and a half. You will find videos posted soon enough. Many were taking them. In Antigua. No damage.
Did the ship flood like the Breakaway?
-
Does the crew have the ability to lock people out of their balconies?
I'd think at least one idiot might go out there in the storm and might have something bad happen.
On an average sailing, what % of bookings do you think are GTY?
in Norwegian Cruise Line

Unless the perks make a big difference to you, the GTY bookings are so much less...but for some people the prospect of not picking your cabin is a total deal breaker.
I wonder what percentage usually goes GTY?
