The buffet was truly amazing with its size and variety of food options. But I was bummed out that everyone touches the serving utensils. We've been waiting for over an hour for help with a lockout problem with our safe. Also my second medallion device was not recognized at the muster station. But it did The evening entertainment options look amazing as well as the buffet meal themes. Our inside stateroom is nice although there are no USB or 110v connections bedside. The only 110 or 220 volt connections are at the desk at the foot of the bed. I'll post more as I experience it in this 'almost live' thread.

We were on board at 11:08am despite a 1pm assigned checkin time. My medallion did not work at security, but was quickly replaced at the Front Desk. Unlike HAL, the rooms weren't ready so everyone is carrying their luggage. We found seats in the Lido Horizon Court with a wonderful Harbor view. Rooms are not projected to be ready until 1:30pm. The whole boarding and check in process was the fastest we've ever seen!

Today on our final full day in Southampton, we did a Titanic self guided walk, visited the Titanic exhibit in the SeaCity museum, took a bus out to the local Costco store for a Costco Dog, toured the local IKEA and logged over 12k steps. It was a bit cooler today with a light breeze, but it was still sunny. Here's a few pictures from today. Tomorrow we board the Regal Princess. War Memorial Isaac Watts Memorial Clocktower Queen for a Day Lunch

We'll tempt fate tomorrow as we have to vacate our AirBnB by 10 and it's a mile away from the port. Right now we're at Costco enjoying a dog and gelato and comparing it to the mother stores. We visited the Titanic museum and a couple of Titanic memorials this morning. It's been a fun visit to Southampton.

Today on our first full day In Southampton, we used an App GPS MY CITY to do a series of self guided walks on themes of History, the City, and the Waterfront. We walked over 11k steps in wonderful weather before enjoying another pub meal at The Red Lion. We also figured out how to walk into the Ocean Terminal which we'll do on Thursday. We highly recommend a stroll down High Street taking in the history and reading the sidewalk imbedded historical plaques. It's also called the QE2 mile. Below are a few pictures.

We enjoyed a wonderful overnight flight on a Virgin Atlantic 787 Dreamliner from SeaTac airport.. Caught up on a couple of movies. The plane was only 1/2 full. Very friendly staff. We're now on a National Express bus to Southampton which will arrive around 2pm local time. It cost 43£ for the two of us. I purchased the tickets at the terminal 3 Central bus station. I booked an AirBnB yesterday for the pre-cruise stay In Southampton. It appears to be walking distance to the port.

We, too, are bored with the HAL entertainment. We liked this Princess itinerary (we are itinerary driven cruisers), so it appears to be a good start. I haven't been real thrilled so far with the Princess APP, their website or their non-responsive customer service. But we're willing to give Princess a fair try.
