@30palmsĀ Thanks much. Have noted my cheat sheet.

    Ā

Any other suggestions? I have best bars/taverns: SpeakEasy Bar & Grill and Wharf Southern Kitchen & Whiskey.

    Ā

If Iā€™m not feeling Mexican I have Benjaminā€™s or Brick Alley Pub for fish and chips. I know everyone goes for the lobster rolls, but canā€™t eat shellfish.

    Ā

Of course fifty percent of the time I chuck the list and just ask locals.

One of our favorite restaurants is The Red Parrot. They have a large menu and great drinks. Ā Brick Alley Pub is also good as well as the Midtown Oyster Bar. Ā  Benjaminā€™s has been around a long time but weā€™ve never been. Ā  All these places are very close to Perrotti Park where the tender docks. Ā Ā

  2. @sid_9169Ā -glad to see youā€™re home and all went smoothly. Ā  Youā€™re right that days 2-3 will be more uncomfortableĀ

Newport: This port looked so easy. Iā€™m going to walk it on my own. Depending on how early I can get off the ship, I will walk part of the Cliff Walk, Thames Street and lunch (donā€™t give me a bad time!) at Diegoā€™s. Thanks for asking this because I went to look for my list of places and realized that I threw out the Newport list somehow. Thank goodness I have time to do a remake!

Rhode Islander here and we spend a lot of time in Newport. Ā I wanted to share that while it is a very walkable city the Cliff Walk is a hike from where youā€™re dropped by the tender. Ā You may want to consider an Uber/Lyft to the ā€œForty Stepsā€ on Narragansett Avenue to get to the area. Ā Ā

@Sainte57 -Ā I have so enjoyed your posts from Door County. Ā A favorite older book - Bitter Sweet by LaVyrle Spencer - is set there. Ā It has been great to see pictures of all the places she describes. Ā Ā
