If I’m not feeling Mexican I have Benjamin’s or Brick Alley Pub for fish and chips. I know everyone goes for the lobster rolls, but can’t eat shellfish.

 

Of course fifty percent of the time I chuck the list and just ask locals.

One of our favorite restaurants is The Red Parrot. They have a large menu and great drinks.  Brick Alley Pub is also good as well as the Midtown Oyster Bar.   Benjamin’s has been around a long time but we’ve never been.   All these places are very close to Perrotti Park where the tender docks.   

@sid_9169 -glad to see you’re home and all went smoothly.   You’re right that days 2-3 will be more uncomfortable

Rhode Islander here and we spend a lot of time in Newport.  I wanted to share that while it is a very walkable city the Cliff Walk is a hike from where you’re dropped by the tender.  You may want to consider an Uber/Lyft to the “Forty Steps” on Narragansett Avenue to get to the area.

@Sainte57 - I have so enjoyed your posts from Door County.  A favorite older book - Bitter Sweet by LaVyrle Spencer - is set there.  It has been great to see pictures of all the places she describes.
