We never had a reservation on the Escape in March. We only had to wait about 10 min when we had a table of 9. So that wasn't an issue. (We walked in twice with a table of 5)
Also, my brother and sister in law, walked into Food Republic at least twice without a reservation. (along with the Tapas restaurant, cant remember the name)

Hi all - is the Escape doing fireworks? If so, do we know which night?
Thanks
They didn't do fireworks in our sailing in March

Incidentally..........
I had salmonella food poisoning once. Confirmed by a doctor via lab tests. It lasts more than a day. I was very sick for 6 days. I had to get IV fluids at one point.
It could have been anything.

We were on the Escape in March. Our steward open our balcony dividers. Not sure if that has changed since then. She was more than happy to do so.

If you have the UBP, I wouldn't by the soda package. My kid didn't have the soda package and we had no problem getting him an occasional soda if he wanted off of our card. Otherwise he drank milk or water.

I was on the Escape in February and we had ours removed with no problem.

Us too. The cabin steward opened ours without question. Just had to close while leaving Nassau.

We were in 13262, it was for 4 people with the Pullman and couch by closet. My parents next door 13264 had the bed by closet. They had a 3 person room.

Worse case, bring a couple gallon size ziplocs to throw them in and hang dry when you get on the ship. (and bring more than 1 suit helps)

We always found if you went to the very back of the buffet, it was easier to get a seat, food and drink.

Do I need long sleeves shirts? Is in super cold inside the cruise? Also should I buy the motion sickened medicine? Some people say they get sick on the cruises from motion :/

I brought a black sweater. I wore it almost every evening because the AC was chilly in some spots.

Our cabin steward on the escape left the bed down the whole week. At first I was annoyed, then I realized what a pain it would be for her to be constantly moving that thing up and down each day. And by day 3, we pretty much forgot it was there. And there were a couple days that we would get some down time and it was nice that my son could crawl up there and catch a cat nap etc. I supposed you could have asked or left a note that you wanted it up.

My son is 11. We gave him a limit every day in the arcade. He followed except once and went 1 game over. He came to us and told us right away. We joked that we already knew because we downloaded the iconcierge app. He's a good kid so we laughed it off. But the games do cost $1 to $1.50 so he better save his pennies!

The GLOW party was so loud on our Escape cruise, we only made it about 10 minutes. My brother said it was even louder than any Metallica concert he attended.

I doubt there would be room even if they had one.

My 11 year old could have cared less about any sort of cartoon character on the ship. He loves the ropes course, arcade, mini golf, water slides etc on the Escape.
-
My son is 11. We let him do things on his own. He has a cell phone and with NCL we got the iconcierge app so we could text him etc. He's pretty responsible kid. We let him go do the ropes course by himself numerous times, and he knew what pool bar we were at or he went back to the room. He pretty much had full fun of the ship but he always knew to tell us where he was going.

Using your legal name on everything when it comes to travel and legal matters is just common sense. I work in the mortgage business, it still amazes me the # of people who think using their nick name or whatever is acceptable.
You will never have an issue if you are using your legal name. Not sure why its so hard.

something occurred to me. Why do people walk off with / without luggage. I would always chose to walk off with the luggage. You will need to move with it once you are out of the terminal anyway. so whats the big deal?
just curious as to how people think about this.
we are sailing this Saturday on the Escape. We are staying in the Haven!!
We had a 5pm flight, no rush to get off the ship with the others trying to catch early flights, its a pain to carry your luggage with you the entire morning while disembarking. If we had an earlier flight then yes. It really didn't take us long to pack up the night before and you have until 11pm to put your bags out. We found our bags within 5 minutes in the customs area. It was easy.

Always use your legal name for things like this. It must match your ID. You should be able to go online and change it.

We brought soda with us and then would use our cards to order my kid a soda. Not one bartender said anything to us. In fact, they would refill him without shipping my card. (On the escape)

Greetings cruise family!
I am researching for a travelogue and I need accurate timings for a drone that we are planning to take shots of the ship as it sets off!
Thank you so much in advance
I wonder if that is legal? Drone's aren't allowed around stadiums, I can't imagine flying one near a cruise ship is a good idea.

We tipped $10 the first day because we asked for ice and for the balcony divider to be removed. We were also impressed that our room was ready at 12:45pm considering she had 16 rooms to turn in just a few hours.
I don't know if that extra $$ made for better service or not through out the week. We never really had any special requests other than the 1st day. We were impressed she remembered all of our names and was genuine sweet person. We chatted with her for a few minutes about her family, how long she works, etc because we were interested. She had a super bubbly personality for someone who works long hours!
On the day of disembarkation, we left for breakfast around 7am and she was already working on turning over rooms even though she told us she was supposed to start at 8am. I left her an additional tip at the end.

We had a balcony cabin with the bed near the balcony. There was an USB outlet near the bed light on the side. Super handy. We used the Iconcierage app to communicate so it was nice to have a fully charged cell phone.

We went on the Escape the first week of March and discovered it was the Canadian Spring Break so it was pretty busy too.
