Did you fly? It could have been from anything!

I would never do the internet package. You can find free WIFI at the ports if need be. Unless for some reason you feel the need to be super connected. I would do the beverage package and SDP. You won't probably have much for an on board account. The $50 excursion credit doesn't appeal to me either.

I live in Wisconsin.........I can have an Ice Bar from December to February.

If its a room that sleep 4 with a Pullman, the bed will probably be by balcony. We were in 13262. Loved the location.

13262 sleeps 4, has bed by balcony

I wore a thin black sweater some evenings. The AC can get cool sometimes.

Its a piece of paper, the more documentation the better. Would hate to see you have problems at the port. Not a big deal in my opinion.
-
Fingers crossed you aren't delayed out of LA. Arriving the same day makes me nervous. Maybe a taxi cab /uber for a breakfast spot.

Definitely cut down on the shoes. I would never bring 7 pairs. Also, I can wear a pair slacks/capri's etc twice especially if you just wear them to dinner. Wear colors that match well with each other. Don't make your wardrobe a rainbow. Lots of things match with black and khaki (tan).

If you cant trust them to be in a room alone, they maybe they shouldn't be. That's a bit weird to want to video your teenagers every move. Its obvious you don't trust them.

My boys (same ages) wore kakhi shorts and a three button shirt or kakhi shorts and a button down shirt to dinner.
My son was 11 at the time, he wore exactly this.

Regarding the clothes pins: the Escape doesn't have the string in the shower where you can hang your bathing suit?
Yes, they do. I was going to mention that. We were in a balcony cabin and it had the clothesline in the shower.

Nice review. FYI, though, not sure if flushable baby wipes are a good idea. The rough toilet paper is probably because of the ships septic system. They aren't even good for your toilet at home either. (Even though they say flushable)
-
Bring an umbrella stroller. One those huge baby joggers will be hard to navigate thru on the ship. And it takes up so much space.

We tipped our steward the 1st day $10 because she opened the balcony divider and got us ice right away. We had great service the whole week. We gave her an additional $20 at the end.

I tried Bonine. I took it at night. After a couple days, I realized I didn't need it. But I hear it works well.

They do a good job cleaning. If they don't, call your room steward. I would also think, they might use special cleaners for their septic system. This isn't something I would worry about. Maybe some Lysol wipes to clean remote, phone etc.

Bong in the Mojito Bar is the best.
If you can get a seat at the bar near the pool, a couple bucks go a long way in keeping your drink filled.
There is a USB port by the light by the bed. (well at least we had it by our bed in our balcony cabin.)
I agree, the sail away in Tortola is beautiful!

Did you purchase travel insurance? I would see if you can get someone to go with you.
Did his company know that he had this vacation already planned?

Can't get off the ship if your folio has a balance on it, so no one is leaving without having paid the bill or gone with the nice local law enforcement officers.

I can't imagine they actually leave you on the ship............plus wouldn't they just stop allowing things to be charged? they are going to let you bounce fees.

We were on Dec 13. Towards the Aft, but not at the end. It was quiet. It was nice because the elevators and stairs were close.
I think Dec 5 might be noisy.

10am is the check in time, not necessarily the boarding time so I doubt you'd get on the ship right at 10am. I don't think they'd let you off the ship after you board due to customs issues unless it was an emergency, plus it would delay things for other folks. The 10am is just the earliest you can check in but you don't have to be that early. If there's things in port you want to do, then do that first and then board the ship. Also there are always things open on the ship but sometimes it's just some limited food options.
Good Point, 10am is check in, it will probably be 10:45ish if you get there right on time, that you actually are on the ship.
-
I think it would be a pain to board and then get back on even if they let you. Plus you would have to carry your carryon with you if the rooms aren't ready. I would find myself a nice place to people watch and grab a fruity drink and explore the ship!!

To everyone that says "a kid won't starve," mine will. Or at least get close enough they are so miserable you will feed them ANYTHING they want. That said we have always been able to find at least cheese and bread for a sandwich.

No offense, its because they know you will bail them out............
My 12 year old is somewhat picky, but I will tell him, you must pick something out. We were out for Chinese food, he sneered at me for having to go. Sure, enough, he figured it out, chicken and peapods, no sauce.
We had lots of long nights of him sitting at the dinner table to get that far. I stopped letting them eat separate meals by age 7. Lots of "try bites" and arguments but it helped!
Should I change from Deck 13 to Deck 5 on Escape?

We had a balcony on the 13th deck, we barely felt any motion.
