It’s been posted on another thread that dining reservations on the Sun are only available for cruises through 5/31. They should extend this date shortly so you just need to keep checking.

    Thanks for the information.

  2. We are booked on the Sun for the August 10th 21-day Best of The Mediterranean . I have been trying to make dining reservations for months and there is nothing available. I thought there was a problem with my reservation so I have contacted Princess and was told that I can't make any reservations until I make final payment.

Strange thing is that I have another booking on Sapphire over a year away and I can make my dining reservations.

Anyone heard of a different policy for dining reservations on Sun?

  3. We just changed our booking from Island Princess August 5, 2024 to  Sun Princess  August 10, 2024. Before changing from the the Island, I was able to book My DIme Timing for the same time each night. Once I changed to the Sun Princess, I am not able to book any times either same time each day or individual nights. Is there some time frame for the larger ships in selecting dinning reservervations int he main dinning room? I have called Princess and the agent ws unable to make any bookings and just told me to make them closer to sailing or once on board. I'm concerned it is a promblem with my reservation and if I wait until on board, there will not be desirable times available.

  4. We are getting ready for our Navigator cruise in a few weeks and I am finding conflicting information. We like to have a bluetooth speaker and binoculars in our cabin. I have seen there is a Bose BT speaker and biunaculars in our  cabin (penthouse suite), however my booking on Rssc.com does not specify a speaker is in the room. I like to pack as light as I can and hate to duplicate items provided.

If anyone has been on Navigator recently, I would appreciate any information on speakers and binoculars in the suites.

    Thanks

Regent is not Carnival!  Personally bought/brought liquor can be carried and consumed onboard wherever/whenever you prefer without restriction or limitation.  Regent doesn't care if you drink the (included/complimentary) liquor they provide, or if you bring your own, or if you buy some onshore and bring it onboard for consumption. They do not "hold" anyone's liquor until disembarkation.  That's one of the primary distinctions between a "Luxury" cruise line... and "everybody else".  Regards.

Thank you for the information. I was not inquiring about consumption on board. I like to bring home some nice bottles of scotch for gifts for family members.

ok, but how are you planning on using OBC to purchase bottles of liquor if there are no bottles to be bought on the ship.... ? 🙂

I guess I assumed there was a shop on the ship to purchase bottles that would be held by Regent until the night before we disembark. Is that not the case?

Duty free liquor is purchased at the airport in the duty-free shops. Anything you bring into the airport after having purchased it on board your cruise will not be duty free. Sorry……

Thank you. I assume that I will have to pack the bottles I buy onboard in my check luggage as I see no way to get it through TSA.

  8. We are planning on using our OBC for to purchase some Scotch  to take home on  our Navigator Miami-Miami cruise next month. I've been reading about how to get bottles through TSA. From what I have read Duty Free Alcohol can be carried on if the bottles are in a clear bag that has a tamper proof seal.

If anyone has any recent experience with Duty Free Liquor and TSA I would appreciate it.

  9. Thank you for the great information. The other couple (my parents) are quite elderly so it's hard for them to stand for longer periods comfortably. If we were to arrive at CR close to opening each evening, is there usually a line to get seated? If so I would guess at opening the one line will mover rather quickly.

I think we will try and book Prime 7 early during the cruise and then try stand-by a few other nights. Am I correct Prime 7 is the only specialty on Navigator.  I am also assuming La Veranda and and Sette Mari at La Veranda are a buffet for breakfast and lunch and do not accept reservations.

    Thanks again.

  10. First time Regent cruiser. We are 93 days out from departure! Our dining window opens on day 90. It is a single cruise of 26 days, so from my understanding we can only book 1 specialty restaurant for the cruise as we are on Navigator.

We are traveling with another couple in a separate cabin. I have all the Information for the other cabin to book our Prime 7 booking. I assume the restriction of 1 specialty includes if I book a table for 4 with the other couple.

Also, I see Compass Rose does not require reservations,  but if I wanted to book every night at particular time are reservations available to book online at the 90 day windows opening for Compass Rose?

    Thanks for any information.

You agreed to a 90 day period for those returns. You might not like it, you might want it to be faster, but the 90 day period was clearly stated so you opted in the second you hit SUBMIT on the form.

Just not sure what the dispute is as "I want it faster is not a dispute".

Wrong. I never agreed to 900 days nor was it disclosed that it would take 90 days until AFTER i submitted the refund form on March 23. It was a unilateral decision by NCL to hold the money for 90 days. I never agreed to such terms. Are you saying when they don't refund at 90 days and come out and say now it will be another 90 days, I agreed to that because that is there policy? Wrong again.

Letter given to me on the Star informing me that I would be forced to leave the ship within 12 hours of the letter (i was on back to back cruises) in a foreign country with no assistance on travel reservations back to the US. The letter told me to call 800-327-7030 for a full refund. No mention that they would hold the money for 108 days (90 days that was disclosed after submitting refund form, plus 9 days before i was allowed to request a fill out the form.

You ask "Just not sure what the dispute is as?" Simple, paid for services not relieved. Quite obvious!

Thinking of doing the same with the same card and have a few questions.

What is the process to dispute, what was the reason you stated for the dispute, and how long should it take to receive your money back? TIA

I had to call because the charge was back in November. I told them that NCL cancelled the cruise and offered a full refund but after 7 weeks, I had not received said refund. The claim was for services and/or product not received. They asked for the letter I received on board the ship (we were on a B2B cruise) that states they cancelled the cruise and said they would refund 100% of the fare. I faxed that to them as requested.

They informed me that it could take up to billing cycles to complete the investigation, but during that time no payment or interest would be required. The account has a zero balance so there was no payment or interest anyway.

My bid upgrade was billed to a different credit card (Chase) and they issued a temporary credit and said the same thing about 2 billing cycles.

As soon as the claim is resolved I will cancel the BOA NCL Card. I have no use for it as I will never give NCL another dime.

Problem is I paid for the cruise back in November 2019 with my Bank of America NCL Credit Card, so I am kind of stuck right now as it exceeds the transaction dates to challenge.

I just disputed my $5,400 cruise on 3/14/20  that was cancelled on 3/13/20. Not sure about other credit cards, but BOA NCL card gives you 60 days from when you were made aware that NCL was cancelling your cruise.

Hope you are able to get your money back.

3-15-20     AA   SCL to MIA    I easily got business class.   Most of premium economy also open.

Guess you got pretty lucky  that a plane with 271 seats only had 121 seats taken. Our United flight to IAH was full. Every seat taken. We were traveling with my parents in their 80's  all had to sit separately in middle seats. Business Class (not that I could have paid $5,000 times 4) was also full.

I was on the ship and had no  problem checking flights.    I decided to stay overnight and also had no problem getting my preferred hotel booked.     I left Sunday night on a flight with over 150  open seats.

Just for my own curiosity, can you let me know what airline had 150 empty seats on the day before the Chile closed its boarders?

Glad it worked out for you. We were not so fortunate. Hope you enjoy your future NCL cruises.

Yes. The OP was properly disembarked when their cruise was cancelled. Unless the OP was totally oblivious to world events, they should have been aware that their cruise was at high risk. And the cancellation should not have been a surprise. It certainly would not have taken me more than an hour to pack my belongings and spend another hour rebooking flights. The cruise line would have zero idea where people wanted to fly to, so they could not do that unilaterally.

Just wondering how you think you could have booked your flights home?  We were at sea and the internet was unusable. It was slow and unreliable  before everyone tried to get online at the same time. At the point the cruise was cancelled the internet would not connect to any site. Also most flights were already sold out by the time I could get a text to go through to someone back home asking them to book us a flight. It was not like we just signed in to an airline and spent thousands of dollars on international flights for the next day. Since you apparently were not on the ship, you should refrain from making statements like above because they are false.

Your statement " spend another hour rebooking flights." is not something that could happen on the Star at the time they notified some people of the cancellation. We were never notified and we were in our room the entire day.

  18. NCL told me last week I had to wait until March 23 to apply for a refund for my March 14 Star cruise that was canceled. I keep being told that I have to go to the link on the letter I received on the 23rd. I don't have a letter. We were already in the ship when it was cancelled because the canceled cruise was part of our B2B cruise. Finally an agent sent me an email, but   the link just goes to a page that says I have to wait for the 23rd.

If anyone can post the link I wold appreciate it. I have been on hold with them for 36 minutes listening to their sales pitch.

    Thanks
