I called yesterday and they told me that specific voyage is NOT on the list requiring the certificate.
We were supposed to be on it (we were on it from San Antonio to Buenos Aires 2 weeks ago), but decided to cancel for peace of mind (traveling with a 82 year old with several chronic conditions and didn't want to take any chances).
Thank you for the info.

We are currently on a back to back cruise that started in Buenos Aires. The second leg starts in Santiago on 3/14. My parents are with us and are over 70.
Any word what they are going to do about someone over 70 that is already on the ship and could not have known they needed a certification letter back on Feb 29 when we boarded?

anyone know if there are any Balcony Cabins with obstructed views on NCL Star?

I have submitted my Shareholder Benefit for twice for a cruise in 4 weeks. I only receive a reply saying they have my received my email and will be contacted with in 24 hours and lists a case number. I have not received the credit nor have I been contacted and it has bee 3 weeks since first attempt.
What kind of time frame ( the email stated 24 hours is obviously incorrect) should I expect and is there an email respose or the credit just appears when you are on the ship?
Does anyone have a phone number to actually call?

Just now, Birdie And Sue said:
Each Plat cert is good for the plat member plus one oterh person. One fo the two using the cert HAS TO BE the plat member.
Thanks. That will accomplish what I wanted. One night I'll treat my son to Cagney's with the Cert and one night My wife will treat my son's wife. Then we will all have 1 free at sea extra available.

From the FAQ:
CAN I BUY DINNER FOR SOMEONE ELSE WITH MY SPECIALTY DINING PACKAGE?
Specialty Dining Packages are sold individually and cannot be transferred. If you wish to pay for someone else’s dinner, you will have to pay regular prices.
Thanks for the information. Now I remember reading the Dining Packages were not transferable. Any idea if I can gift one of the Platinum Dinning Certificates to my son and his wife?

My wife and I are sailing on Dawn this summer and my Son and wife will be joining us in a separate cabin. We each received 3 specialty dining restaurants as part of our Free and Sea offer.
My wife and I are Platinum members so we will also receive a free Cagney's or Le Bristo certificate (for 2) and a free La Cucina or Moderno certificate (for 2)
If we book 3 specialties for all 4 of us, and we used our Platinum Cagney's and Le Bristo certificates at 2 of the 3, My wife and I would still have 2 (each) Free at Sea Meals left on our account. Is it possible we could use the 4 remaining free at sea meals (2 from my wife's account and 2 form mine) and book a 4th night in a specialty for all 4 of us.
Sorry it's so confusing. I guess basically I'm asking if I can I use the Free at Sea meals for other people?

Thank you for all the information.

Forgive me as I knew this question has probably been asked and answered many times, but I can't seem to find my answer.
We are about 10 days away from Ovation OTS 14 New Zealand cruise. I have not been on RCCL in about 18 years. Does anyone have information on what amenities we can expect in the bathroom as far as shampoo, conditioner and body soap. Just trying to make out list and wondering what we need to pack. We are just in a regular balcony room.
Thanks for any information.

Shared means the OBC will be split beteween the guests. However, if your accounts are linked, the OBC will be combined anyhow,.
OBC from Visa points is applied in order of sail date, so if your cruise is a long ways off, it might be a while.
Thank you. Will I see the credit somewhere on the RCCL website under my cruise?
-
I'm sure this has been asked and answered but I can not find it in a search.
I cashed in 15k of my points for a $150 Shared OBC for our cruise in February. I also cashed in 10K from my wife's account for a $100 share OBC for same cruise. It has been about 2 weeks since I entered the orders. Does the credit show up any where on the Cruise Planner portion of RCCL.com? I don't see the credits there.
Also I assumed "Shared" meant that either my wife or I could use the OBCs. Is this a correct assumption?
Thanks for any help.

I was able to book MTD Dinner reservations for our Ovation OTS cruise sailing in February 2018. I found it strange this far out but I took advantage and book every night. It did not give a choice of dinning rooms. Is there only 1 main dinning room for MTD on Ovation?
We booked 6pm every night so we could see shows and such. Then started thinking maybe we should just switch to early seating so we get the same table and same waiters each night. Any opinions one way or the other?
Thanks for any insight.

Saw a banner today on RCCL.com showing up to 30% for the next 30 hours on beverage packages and shore excursions.
I was ready to purchase my beverage package for our 14 day New Zealand cruise next February out of Sydney. Unfortunately the discount only is applied to the refreshment package. I jumped on that for my wife as she does not drink alcohol, but I want the alcohol package for myself and it is still full price at $64.95 per day. Does the sale normally exclude the alcohol package?
Also I noticed all the shore excursions I had booked on May, we're now being sold for 10% off. I did call but they had to cancel them all, refund them and then I had to purchase them again. Only problem, I realized after the fact, I had closed one of the credit cards I had used. I'm fairly certain the credit card company will still send me a check.
Hope the alcohol package goes on sale at some point. $64.95 seems too high.

Not true about earning hotel points for multiple rooms. I am a Marriott Rewards Platinum member, and she you have multiple rooms booked, you get the points for one room.

Actually a Marriott Rewards member may book and earn reward points for up to 3 rooms provided the member pays for the all 3 rooms.
You are correct that you will only earn "elite" night credits, that count towards status, for 1 room. Since C & A points only count for status, Marriott is the same, 1 "status" point for each night even if you pay for 3 rooms.

Check your credit card. Was it charged three weeks ago?
If so, is there now a credit?
Just one place to start.
Yes my card was charged on May 20 and there is no credit issued. I emailed to get an explanation as the 24/7 contact number is closed!

I purchased our shore excursions for our February 4th Ovation OTS cruise about 3 weeks ago. Today when I look at our calendar and order history they are no longer showing. I called the 24 hour customer service number but they are closed. Guess I am not sure which 24 hours they are open.
Anyone else have excursions missing?

I booked a 40 day cruise for February 2018, Sydney to Tokyo on Jewel. It was booked as 40 days but was also sold as 3 separate shorter cruises. I booked through Interval International (timeshare exchange company). Will be interesting to see if I am able to bid for an upgrade. Currently in a mini suite on deck 11.

We are booked in a mini suite for the 40 day cruise Sydney to Tokyo next February on Jewel. It is actually 3 separate cruises but booked as 1 cruise not B2B2B. Wondering if we will be given a chance to bid for Haven. Of course for that long it might be cost prohibitive to even bid. We are going with 4 people in 2 cabins. If 1 cabin gets the upgrade can you bring guest to the Haven only Pool and restaurants?

We have book Ovation of the Seas for the 14 night New Zealand cruise out of Sydney for next February. Concerned abut Ovation due to size and somewhat negative reviews, but it lined up well with our 40 day cruise from Sydney to Tokyo leveling 2 days after Ovation returns on NCL Jewel.
I booked last December, and when ever I go to book things online like dinning, entertainment, even beverage package, I get a message "Sorry, we can not reserve this right now. Please try again on board."
Every review says if you don't book prior to boarding, it will be impossible to book on board. I don't what to eat in Wind Jammer for 14 nights! Apparently even shows have to be booked before boarding on Ovation.
I have not been on RCCL for about 15 years however still a Platinum member. Last time on RCCL the food was wonderful and there where no "pay" restaurants. We moved to NCL due to "Free Style" concept and have been quite happy. I just am getting a bad feeling about the ship being too big and debating a driving tour of New Zealand instead of the cruise.
Any advise? Any idea why I can not book a single thing?
NCL Suspends Operations for 30 days - BREAKING
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
I was on B2B cruises on NCL Star, Buenos Aires to Port Canaveral. We were forced to disembark the ship in Santiago,Chile on March 14th. No assistance provide on board with travel arrangements. We were never even notified of the cancellation. We found out from other passengers. By the the time we heard, we waited in line at guest services for 1 and 1/2 hours only to be told they were holding a meeting in a conference room on deck 12. When we arrived to the room that was big enough for about 60 people there were about 200 people lining up and trying to use the 8 computers they had set up. All outside lines of the ship (we were willing to pay NCL their 5.99 per minute to get travel arrangements) were busy. They offered 30 minutes of internet for free. Problem was we were at sea and everyone was using the internet, so it became unusable. I was able to connect with ATT digital at sea (i am T-Mobile so I'm going to be charged about $9.99 a minute) so I was able to call my bother to book flights out of Chile for us.
To add insult to injury NCL was not willing to even provide us transportation to the airport unless we paid $65 per person.
Obviously I don't want a future cruise credit. We won't sail with them again. They told me today I have to wait until March 23rd to file for a refund and then they will take up to 90 days to issue it. That is not acceptable to me so I contacted my credit card company which happens to be Bank of American NCL branded credit card. The 60 days from billing statement dispute requirement does not apply to cruises. You must dispute within 60 days of when the cruise should have taken place.
For those that used the NCL credit card for the 3/14/2020 cruise, you have until 5/13/2020 to dispute the charge.
I'll give NCL a chance to refund the money but I will not wait 90 days from March 23rd. I will be initiating a charge back on 5/12/2020. I will dispute the $130 extortion fee to take us to airport as soon as it post to the card.
I doubt anyone has any chance of recovering short notice international flights cost from NCL.
