  1. On the way out my mom had to rave about how good her pork chop was. I mentioned I liked the different menu and they said the crew were excited too because they cook the same 7-8 menus every week so they were excited to cook something different. The dining room was empty tonight so not everyone shared in our excitement 😆. They missed out on a great meal.
  2. My mom's starter was the stir dry buckwheat pasta. She enjoyed this dish. For my starters I got the corn fritters and pineapple and cucumber salad. The fritters were good. The salad was a salad lol. I enjoyed it though. For mains I got the teriyaki pork chop and the fish and shrimp. The fish was good but that pork chop? Fantastic. My mom got it also and it's her favorite thing this trip. Dessert was the red velvet cake with a very unique presentation.
  3. Tonight is a dinner menu i have never had before. The first of eight new to me menus that only get pulled out on longer cruises.

  5. My food photos don't help you visualize where I am? Right now I'm between lunch and dinner, although I am approaching dinner and just waiting for clearance from the local authorities. All kidding aside, I will have photos of my stops in Alaska in the next few days but it is a slow process uploading them one at a time to my photo host. I won't have any additional pics of Ketchikan I have posted all i have. I also won't have much of the additional ports as my mom's mobility will not allow for it unless her pain eases up. Seattle and Alaska have done her in. I will rustle up a visual of the itinerary and post it later.
  6. Fun facts learned at this Q&A: 19xx guests 923 crew (little lower than last week I think) If cases are low masks can come off after day 8, Miami will determine Miami also programs the background music based on the demographic onboard (I liked it much better last week 😆)
  7. My memory and my hub app are both failing me. Crew connections q and a is in progress I'm rushing to it now a few minutes late.
  8. When I went to lunch my mom was next on standby. She is still next. Everyone is showing up for their appointment glad I didn't hang around. I don't think I'm going to wait I'll try again later in the cruise. Lunch was great. I'd like to see this more often but I suspect if it gets popular it won't be as good. Nice quiet empty dining room and the food was super hot which is not something I can say often about cruise food. Same menu as last week but I'll post again since it isn't a common menu. I ordered the chicken cutlet. Very generous portion and very tasty. I also got the beef stew. For dessert I had the vacation sundae.
  9. Under a 10 minute wait for lunch. My mom really wants her caricature she is gonna wait here instead of coming to lunch. I'm gonna come back I need my lunch lol.
  10. They are doing free caricatures every sea day from 12-3. There are sign-ups and the slots are full for the first four sea days. They will be doing more sign-ups after our day in Cabo so we will try again then. Glad it is everyday I thought I missed it yesterday.
  11. It was overcooked. Same for the side of risotto which I uses to love and wish they served as a main dish. It was like mush in ny mouth. I had the same issue last week. It is still better than what they serve on royal where I have stopped ordering it.
  12. Good morning. With the time change I am now two hours behind eastern. No brunch today. Instead they have breakfast and lunch. I was hoping they had the upcharge brunch in the steakhouse I was going to try that today but I don't see it. Hopefully it will make an appearance later in the cruise.
  13. I think this is the first time this cruise I've been up past midnight. Real party animal 🤪 Losing an hour overnight tonight a disadvantage to sailing east. Good night.

  15. I think stuart is going to work out this week. He delivered ice not once but twice today. My mom commented on the towel animal on his cart and he gave it to her in addition to this unique looking one waiting for us after dinner.
  16. For my starter I ordered the appetizer portion of the pasta carbonara. For mains I got the striped bass and the lobster. My mom's dessert. And mine - coffee cake. Great meal and great service. The only dish that I didn't care for was the lobster. I'm not sure why I continue to even order it lol.
  17. The wait for dinner was only about 35 minutes so not as long as it said. The dinner menu in the app had been updated to reflect the menu I expected it to be. This is the normal night 2 menu and the one I forgot to post last week.
  18. The sun was setting as we made our way to dinner. This one was taken from our window.
  19. Checking in for dinner now. It is formal night and there is a 50-60 minute wait.

People hide ducks around the ship usually with a tag on it with the family's name that hid it and the ship and sailing date and instructions to keep or rehide as well as to post it to one of the Facebook pages dedicated to the duck hiding. You could probably Google cruising ducks to find one of the groups I don't actually belong to any my mom just gets a kick out of finding and collecting them. She's a big kid lol. If you remember the friendship rocks from a couple years back it's like that but with ducks. You will move up to platinum the first day of your second sailing but you may have to have your card reprinted because they are printed before the system counts your first leg. The same thing happened to me when i did a b2b on my milestone cruise. They gave me a white card for that then my second cruise I still had a white card, I did not correct that one lol.
  21. I still didn't make it to the casino. When I got there my card was declined because I hadn't set up a card in file. I thought I had $400 obc but I forgot I had used some to purchase internet. I went back to the room to grab my card to out on file. When I returned every machine I wanted was taken. I took it as a sign I do not need to gamble this trip. I'm heading out now to get my exercise in I definitely need it after that hearty brunch. I'm happy to see the steamroom open also. I wasn't sure if it would remain open with the stricter protocols.
  22. I got "upgraded" to ocean view on three of the four legs. I actually prefer an inside for the dark lol. I'm learning from those onboard I am not alone, there were many many people who had their reservations messed up with the changeover.
  23. I think it will. I also thought it was 30 days to flatten the curve though and here we are 2.5 year later so what do I know?
  24. Yes that would be a better way to describe it I think. It's a crabcake with poached egg and hollandaise sauce on the one bun. On the other bun a very generous portion of sliced avocado sprinkled with some sliced cucumber which gave it a nice crunchy texture against the softer crabcake and avocado. Finally topped up with half a salad that Just gets in the way. The avocado/cucumber medly was pretty enough I don't think it needed a garnish. It was very good and at $8 a pretty good bargain if you want an elevated meal over what the brunch menu has become.
