  1. My entire cruise was not wrecked by their absence. Just saying...
  2. Oh dear. Another lie from NCL 😂 I was on the 4th May sailing. No such email in advance 😂
  3. And what about those who drive to the port? You do realise drinking and driving us illegal in the UK don't you 😂
  4. But on my 4th May sailing we did not know before we boarded that no.alcohol was being served 🙄
  5. Good grief! We're not talking about a layman losing paperwork here, we're taking a multi million dollar company who have been sailing out of Southampton for years with no issues. It's absolutely ridiculous even consider they weren't given sufficient notice to pay port fees, yet all other cruise lines were 😂😂
  6. Yes, I know this. I was on the 4th May cruise. Please see cybermirth's post above which seems to indicate there were no problems in Southampton on his trip
  7. So, did they serve alcohol whilst in port in Southampton? They didn't on the 4th may sailing. They did serve out of all Scottish ports on that sailing. Please keep us updated as to the situation in other British ports.
  8. Best and most informative response yet! This is exactly what I've been saying all along 👍
  9. I wouldn't even bother responding to him/her any further. They clearly don't want to listen to the facts. I was on the Dawn last week so have first hand experience of what happened. I live in the UK and I know there have been no changes to the law or any new restrictions as NCL claim. Yet still he/she refutes those facts because of some bizarre notion that NCL must be telling the truth and everyone else is lying.
  10. But we had the drinks package on the Dawn last week and still could not get served in either Southampton or Portland. They're just making things up as they go along aren't they!!
  11. We were just given the beverage notice. When queried we were told the uk government had changed the rules. That was of course utter rubbish, as other ships sailing from Southampton were still serving alcohol
  12. And we were on the Dawn and were told by the staff that the reason no alcohol was being served was because the UK laws had changed. We were never told that it was because they didn't have sufficient time to pay any fees 😂😂
  13. There was no alcohol served in Portland on Saturday (we were on the Dawn). We were served alcohol in Belfast. However, I understand those on the Star weren't
  14. You're winding us up. You must be. 😂 I was on the ship last week. I live in the UK. There are no such restrictions And funnily enough there was no mention about there being insufficient time to sort it out. We were categorically told by staff that the reason they weren't serving alcohol was because the UK had changed the law.
  15. There was no notification. There was no change in law
  16. Eeeh. There's nowt so blind as somebody who cannot see
  17. Because it's been proven they are lying. Other ships sailed from Southampton yesterday and were serving alcohol
  18. But it isn't about the alcohol. Can't you see that? It's the fact NCL are lying to their loyal customers. And as a previous poster said, it isn't just one day
  19. The 'problem' is NCL are lying......to their customers, and also to their staff. There is no such restriction in place stopping them fulfilling what customers have paid for. What next? Will they decide not to serve food until they've sailed and blame that on the UK government?
  20. I'm literally gobsmacked at the most recent information in the posts on here. It appears NCL are just lying continually to their customers. It really does beggar belief!
  21. No. Belfast was in the middle of the cruise. Portland was the last day. The only 'issue' is NCL not wanting to iat port taxes for serving drinks
  22. It didn't happen in Belfast. Only Southampton and Portland
  23. There are no such rules (I live in the UK). NCL are lying. The only rule is that ships serving alcohol in those ports must pay taxes.....and NCL don't want to pay those taxes. All other cruise lines sailing from those ports are serving alcohol
  24. We were served alcohol in Belfast. But we weren't allowed alcohol in Southampton or Portland. It is absolutely NOT UK law (I live in the UK). NCL do not want to pay taxes in those ports. All other ships leaving from Southampton (including anthem of the seas) are serving alcohol
