Thanks for that, will reread it and have a play in the coming days. We leave on the 27th September, but leave from Sydney on the 24th and do a few days pre and post cruise in Hong kong.

We are on Voyager out of Hong Kong, would like to scope but never have (scoped or cruised) and not sure how I would go.

 

 

 

What are some pointers that would be good to remember if I did take the plunge? and other tips would be great as well.

If going on, what is your exact sail date?

What is your Periscope name?

As far as Periscope it is very easy. Here is some pictures to illustrate how to start your Broadcast.

If you are on faceb00k there is also a group called "Royal Caribbean Periscopers" would love for you to join our community there as well. I also post the monthly Periscoper list.

This is where to go to start broadcast

Make sure this is unclicked so all watchers can chat. Easy to block trolls. You block bad comments by clicking on the comment and selecting block

Enter your title and hit broadcast.

You double tap the screen to flip camera from facing you to pointing out, and Vise Versa.

Make sure to put the name of the ship, in your title.

Wearing ear buds with a microphone, a good idea.

Relax, have Fun, enjoying sharing what you are seeing!!

Swipe down on the Screen, when you want to end the broadcast.

Only walk around in the port area for a couple hours but it was a nice break from the ship. It was extremely hot in the sun but very comfortable in the shady buildings on the streets.

 

We return to the ship to have some lunch, followed by the helipad sail away party.

 

 

 

 

We saw some dolphins off the starboard side of the bow. Hopefully they'll be visible in the photo.

 

 

 

 

We also had some birds flying in front of the ship.

Interesting that on Allure they have the helipad sail away for Suites and Pinnacles while on Oasis they have it or until very recently for Platinum and above. Miss that event on Lady O.

 

 

 

Even on my May suite sailing there was no helipad sail away scheduled at all.

It is, the lower Voom package. which for my Friend, will be just Fine to Communicate with her Family back Home. For myself, I went ahead and purchased the higher package so I could periscope.

This will be my Friends very first Cruise!!! I am very Excited!!!!

With Periscoping on the Royal Caribbean Ships, You will need to get the Surf and Stream Voom Pkg. it is the Higher price one however, always be on the lookout for sale Discounts, and the Higher Crown and Anchor Discount Perks!! I am on a 4 Day Cruise, on 9-26-16, I purchased the Surf and Stream Voom for 30% off, making my total just,$50.00.

Voom works Wonderful, only issues I have heard so Far, having a strong enough Signal to Periscope with the Surf and Stream, is from Liberty of the Seas, and the ships that go to Alaska, sometimes the signal is not strong enough to periscope, because of being a remote area.

And CruisingKat - my periscope handle is the same as on here MattinFLL. I've never actually scoped. I've always been a picture guy. But I have thought about it. Maybe Empress will get me to experiment. ;)

Scope Watchers Rock as well. Andrew was the First Cruise Scoper I Watched. Andrew inspired me to Scope, and look at me now, not only do I scope, I help get the information out there, where others can have the Same enjoyment, and Live Vicariously through someone's else's Scopes!!! [emoji5]

Well, fellow cruise addicts, it's time to pack your virtual bags for another cruise. Have them at your front door for this Saturday morning. I will honk once at 10am, and if you're not ready, you better get to your nearest airport ASAP. Otherwise, we will meet you at the gangway on Sunday. If you are any later than that, you better be prepared to be singled out as the newest pier runner on YouTube or Periscope.

 

 

 

So where are we off to this time you ask? Let me give you a hint in the form of a quote from the world renowned scientist Dr. Emmett Brown, the inventor of time travel and a student of all sciences. "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads". I guess you could say we are going "Back to the Future". We are returning to Allure of the Seas, but on its new eastern itinerary. As of now we are to be porting in St Martin, San Juan and Labadee. This will be confirmed as we go forward.:eek:
