  1. Seems I was told you had to wait five minutes before the computer would let them swipe your card again.

However, once I forgot to take my DW card with me somehow the bartender was able to override that and gave me two drinks with only one card. I had been going to the same pool bar for about two days so he knew we both had drink packages.

They don't need to swipe your card. They can look up you/your wife by last name or cabin number. It is easier/faster for them to swipe, but they can work around it.

  2. From the RC Blog:

Tropical Old Fashioned: Muddled cherries and pineapple stirred together with orange bitters and Malibu Coconut rum

New Fashioned: Soft brown sugar drenched in orange bitters, muddled with pink grapefruit and fresh raspberries and a glamorous serving of Southern Comfort and a grapefruit twist

    Another:

Pyrat Old Fashion: Orange flesh and amaro cherries muddled with soft brown sugar, a dash of bitters and Pyrat rum

  3. 411 post and I really do not want to read the whole thread.

So will some kind soul help me.

If I want to purchase a drink package that includes frozen strawberry daquirris and basic ship champagne, as well as Captain morgans rum and diet coke, and occasional bottled water.

    1. Which package do I purchase.

    2. How much for a 7 day cruise (Allure)

    Thanks

    1. You only have one choice, Deluxe.

    2. $363.44 ($44x7x1.18, could vary by sailing)

  4. Where are people (both customers and RC) getting the $25-$30 to upgrade number? 'Regular' price of the SP is $39, Deluxe is $55, a $16 difference. Did the 'free' package get charged at a lower rate? I believe I saw £31 mentioned as the rate some were paying which converts to $41.32 (at today's rate). I have no idea how exchange rates are handled in this situation, but it seems to me RC is creating confusion where it is not necessary more than lying/cheating/stealing. I get being ticked about paying double, I am just not sure why you would have to. Based on my numbers, which could be just plain wrong, I don't know where the $25-$30 comes in.

  5. Ah, but they get around that math by stating that the cost for the Deluxe package is "from $55/day (excluding gratuity)", implying that the base rate for the package could be more.

Exactly, on the 'from' part. Also, and not sure if this is still the case with the new structure, but the price we see in our planner should be 20% off the on board price, not a 'base' from a standard flyer.

  6. A fact: Drink packages are to be used for drinks for the owner of the package and no one else. If Celebrity had any guts, the bartender should be fired and your package should be revoked. It's apparent that the guy losing his job would have no affect on you, you got what you wanted, to impress everybody by being a big shot. If you can't afford the drinks, stealing isn't the answer, maybe you should stay home.

    Holier than thou

Please tell us this was posted from the MDR.

  7. Correct. But tomorrow it will be $55 less 20% for a net of $44 (+ 18% of course).. Today should have been the old price, but alas, not to be.

I paid today's price yesterday, you can pay today's price today, which may or may not be tomorrow's price. You may be able to pay today's price tomorrow, which would of course make it tomorrow's price, but who knows?

  8. This is really odd.... at what prices... for either the PP or UP or something else... I was just trying the PP? Prices were the same for PP across the board but varied for UP either $46/$49 US before 18%, this was the 20% off promotion.... I listed the ships... and dates previously

I just purchased PP for December on Indy. All packages available in planner, 33/44/49, 20% off included.

  9. Sooooo,

Those of you screaming for Royal to enforce the drink package rules, do you also want them to enforce the MDR dress code to the letter? You don't have a collared shirt, you don't eat. You have a ball cap, you don't eat. You are wearing shorts, you don't eat. You are wearing sandals, you don't eat.

How about the abandoned deck chair rule? Even if you're just going to the buffet for something to eat, if you're gone one minute longer than the allowed time limit, you lose the chair. Even if you're huny is parked in the chair right next to it.

How about reservations at specialty restaurants? You don't show up until 6:05 for your 6:00 reservation? Sorry pal, you have to go the Windjammer or the MDR now.

Holding seats for someone in the theater? You get escorted out of the show because the rules say holding seats is not allowed.

So how far do you want Royal to go?

    Perfect.

  10. There is exactly zero legitimate and valid reason to remove the charge when you first board.

If you choose to not pre pay that's fine. But to immediately declare you won't pay the charge as it is posted daily without having any excuse is just being a crappy guest.

And no, no one believes you when you swear you will pay in cash. Especially since the burden then falls on the staff to turn in the funds to be pooled

    Wow, uncalled for.
