Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We sailed on the Joy from Miami in October and were stuck using Terminal C while MSC used NCL's brand new terminal. All of our boarding docs said B and it was a last minute switch, and boarding was insanely disorganized. I was bummed, since I had been looking forward to checking out NCL's new terminal - especially since we'd splurged on Haven and were looking forward to seeing that area! Plus the "Haven" area they'd earmarked in C was about 1/4 of the needed chairs and everyone was all crammed in standing and we couldn't even move for a while - definitely not the "lounge" experience we were paying for! (Same thing upon return - we docked at C again and MSC was back at B. Just really didn't make any sense to me why MSC would have priority over a BA+ class NCL ship.)
  2. Also booked for Vibe on the 3/1 sailing! Sounds like it'll be the place to be! (Traveling with my best friend - we haven't done an NCL cruise since 2020 so can't speak to Prima Vibe, but it was amazing on the Getaway, Escape, and Encore).
  3. I can only speak for my sailing (Dec. 10th), but it was complimentary! 100% true that reservations are only done once onboard, but there was no cost this time. I was actually surprised by that, as there was a cost for the Supper Club when I was on the Escape back in 2018. They could very easily charge a small amount for it, but I was glad to see that they didn't. My advice is to make sure you get this booked the second you get onboard - it sold out VERY quickly.
  4. Choir of Man is amazing!! Definitely get there early and sit down near the front. Also, be wary of sitting in an aisle seat unless you want to find yourself pulled up on stage! I was grabbed and it was really fun, but definitely not for every personality! I'm the same way! Love to know what to expect so I can make the most of my time. I love that all of us crazy pre-planners have a good outlet here 😛 I didn't make it to either (didn't even realize there was a sketch comedy game show!), but make sure that you make reservations AS SOON as you get onboard for the Supper Club. The shows sold out extremely quickly, as they don't charge for the Supper Club like they used to and it's a nice alternative for another night at an MDR. Have fun!! Have so much fun!! It was a great itinerary and the Escape is a fun ship. My fingers are crossed that you'll make it to GSC!
  5. Just got off the Escape yesterday! Here are photos of the dailies - hopefully they all upload in order! Hope this helps and that you have a great upcoming cruise!! Happy to answer any questions that anyone has.
  6. I was on the Epic this past February in Haven out of PR. We were in the standard line for security and then once we got through the scanners, there was a Haven check-in desk immediately to our left. The Pam Am boarding definitely leaves much to be desired in terms of aesthetic - it's basically a giant warehouse room. The Haven area had a few rows of seats, we filled out paperwork and they gave us each a bottled water. We waited there while they dealt with the paperwork and checked in a few people before us, and then we got escorted directly onto the ship from there. (Keep in mind, Feb 2021 we were still doing the at-pier COVID testing and all of that fun stuff - there was no separate Haven line there, either. But by the time all of the testing and stuff was done, I think we were one of the first on the ship around 11am or so.) If anyone has more specific questions, happy to answer them!
  7. If you look on Facebook, some have been posted recently to an NCL Escape group that I joined! I'm on the Dec. 10th sailing, so if none have been posted here by then, I'd be happy to take photos and share. Some things I noted from them that may be helpful (this was from the 11/19 Thanksgiving week sailing and things do change sometimes week to week, but this is a good idea of what to expect): Day 1 (Saturday) - Welcome Aboard Dance Party & Welcome Aboard show in the theater Day 2 (Sunday - At Sea) - 80s Party / Malevo in the theater (Drink of the Day: Long Island Iced Tea & Watermelon Twist) Day 3 (Monday - DR) - Latin Fiesta / Choir of Man in the theater (Drink: Rebellious Fish & Cucumber Cool) Day 4 (Tuesday - St. Thomas) - 70s Disco / "Shadow and Black Light" show in the theater (Drink: Painkiller & Croissant Mai Tai) Day 5 (Wednesday - Tortola) - Glow Party/ "Shadow and Black Light" show (Drink: Bahama Mama & Pulp Art) Day 6 (Thurs - At Sea) - Ocean Music Fest / Malevo in the theater (Drink: Moscow Mule & Cafe Replay) Day 7 (Friday - GSC) - Farewell Dance Party/ Choir of Man in the theater (Drink: Signature Mai Tai & Bananarama) Day 8 (Saturday - Depart)
