  1. The Harmony OTS cruise I mentioned above currently is $87.99pppd plus 18% for the drink package. That's almost $1,500 per couple added to the cruise. The base fare is also $200pp more than the Prima on the same itinerary(Prima adds HC) with an Oceanview Balcony on both. At that price, the drink package is no longer worth it.
  2. For liquor, you are looking about 2 drinks a day being the breakeven point. If you are a beer drinker, the breakeven is 3.
  3. The $10 international plan only works on land. When you try to connect to cell service once on land, it will automatically active the plan for that day and send you a text. The first device is $10 and each additional is $5. AT&T has a cruise plan that I am putting below.
  4. Normally, this is true if you are trying to use a wi-fi plan through NCL. There is a loophole in the system that allows iphone users to use imessage by just connecting to the ships wifi as you would normally connect through the phone.
  5. Sure but just about all mass market cruise lines have these rates that are discounted because you are giving the line the ability to stick you where ever they have space. On a cruise I am tracking with RCCL, they give you a $257 per person discount for this pleasure.
  6. Of course its baked into the fare. Everything is baked into the fare. Cruise lines, like all businesses, are not selling their product to lose money. But, the base fare doesn't change whether you take the FAS or not. Declining the FAS only saves you gratuities.
  7. I haven't seen anything about both Syd's and Cavern Club being on board. Has that been released somewhere? That would be a great way to split the crowds but I already can hear people complaining they had to miss the one of the Beatles show because it was at the same time as the Syd's show.
  8. Not advocating for this but they have always only asked for one room card when "paying".
  9. Both are game shows that choose passengers to be contestants. You can watch for free but if you want to play along with the contestant, there is a fee.
  10. A DJ plays nightly in the Skyline.
  11. The bathroom is bigger and these are the perks: Exclusive Club Balcony Suite Amenities Distinctive Purple Keycard Pre-book onboard dining as early as 125 days prior to sailing Pre-book entertainment as early as 21 days prior to sailing 1 complimentary valet laundry 1 bottle of sparkling wine upon embarkation Treats delivered to your stateroom twice per voyage. Bliss Collection by Norwegian™ featuring fine linens and pillows Lemongrass bathroom product Coffee maker & ice bucket available upon request
  12. Just the gratuity. The soda package gratuity is $1.99 per person per day.
  13. The FAS drink package includes alcoholic drinks up to $15 with no max like Carnival. That covers most of your drinks but if something is over $15, you just pay the difference plus 20% gratuity on the difference. It includes soda but does not include energy drinks, water or specialty coffees. If you want those and you also like whiskey/scotch and wine, you might want to upgrade to the Premium Plus. Nothing to worry about in terms of nightlife. There will be plenty to do after hours and plenty of people joining you.
  14. The gratuities are being estimated as if everyone in the cabin is 21+. Once you enter the birthdates of your teens, the gratuities will be adjusted. If you get two cabins, they will get the soda package as a replacement. The gratuities for that package are $1.99 per person per day compared to $21.80 pppd for the adult package. If you have all four of you in one cabin, they do not get the soda package and there is no additional charge beyond the adult drink package.
  15. The water coaster takes up just as much room as the racetrack did. There are a few spots for lounge chairs around the coaster though.
  16. You compared what NCL does to what the store does and said you don't like it. "This is like a store I was doing business with"
  17. If you don’t like it, I would suggest not cruising. This is standard marketing in the cruise industry.
  18. The Escape casino is no bigger than any other casino I have been on other ships even on other cruise lines. It doesn’t come close to taking up the entire 7th floor because you also have the theater, O’Sheenans, and the Manhattan Room on that floor.
  19. They still rebate differences and missed ports on a case by case basis. I have received a small OBC this year for the per passenger amount coming in lower than expected. If they miss a port and the per passenger amount is still higher than they charged passengers, or course they are not going to return port fees for that port.
  20. These are the two main difference I find between the two: Dining NCL is all My Time Dining and they have pretty much perfected it. Royal tries to jam their MTD into the regular dining rooms at least on their Oasis ships. Can’t remember how it was set up on the Freedom class. NCL also will pull staff from other restaurants to help during a rush so I rarely have the 2 hour dinners I have had on Royal. You also get a number of specialty dining credits depending on cabin and cruise length. Atmosphere NCL caters to the solo cruiser market and I feel it keeps the ship a different atmosphere. They usually are there to make friends and have a good time. There are solo M&Gs and they will usually go to places in groups. It’s not uncommon for a group to strike up a conversation with non solos or encourage you to join them. It gives the ship more of a refined party atmosphere trashed than the a drunk fest you might find on Carnival. On Royal I have felt that most keep to themselves.
  21. The drink package works on GSC. It doesn’t on Harvest Caye.
  22. The fact that you spent the first 1/4 complaining about the embarkation just proved my point. After that point, there was nothing that would have saved this cruise for you.
  23. If you are going to buy the drink package, always do it as a perk. The regular price is $109 per person per day plus 20% gratuities($130.80pppd). As a perk, you only pay the gratuities which is $21.80 per person per day. For wifi, are you saying the speed is capped? It is and you would need to upgrade to the premium unlimited for the higher speeds. The unlimited plan alone is the same as the perk wifi. The Epic is on Starlink but the speeds are still slow even for the premium at least in the Caribbean. If you plan on just web browsing, the perk/unlimited is good enough.
  24. Waiting breathlessly for the OP to make their comeback where we are all accused of being cheerleaders or NCL employees.
