Interesting, just read the letter we received for missing Coco Cay and it stated that we will receive one day credit based on what we paid for our cruise which can be applied towards a future cruise.  Unexpected surprise, thanks RCL!

Are you on Allure now ? We are too but haven’t heard or seen any letter regarding missing CoCo Cay.

Not sure if i will get off today. The concept of a patty is tempting....I have lots of time to decide. We are here til 6:30

I keep seeing talk of this "patty" what is this you speak of ? We are sailing Allure in Nov and wonder if it is something we need to experience.

  3. We have had this card for 15 years. It is our primary card so we use it a lot. We rack up points pretty quick. Back before they changed the redemption breakdown we sailed for free (+ taxes) To Caribbean for 4 nights, but now it takes alot to get a free cruise so we use points for paying down a cruise and/or for drink packages and dining.

Also just received an email. Nov 10 sailing switching St. Kitts for San Juan. Extra time in St. Thomas. Full refund or change up to August 8.

Yep, We just got the email this morning. We are on this sailing. With as short a time we have in San Juan, we most likely will just stay on the ship. Having to back on by noon doesn't leave much time for much. Kind of bummed.... looking forward to the train ride we had booked in St Kitts

  5. Hello,

We are 2 couples sailing in a GS 2 BDRM  on Allure in Nov and wanting to know if we can separate our on board credit but we are under 1 reservation. The reservation has $100 already in credit for just booking and I assume that is to share between all of us. We are going to be adding more on board credit to this reservation but would like it to be used separate for each couple.(Say $300 for each couple) I don't know if it is even possible to keep them separate as we don't want to share one big pot of credit. I figured I would ask here in the forum as using Royals customer service might not yield any answers.

    Thank you,

    David

  6. Hello fellow cruisers, I am looking for some help with finding the Itinerary map or the cruise ship route that used to be on the site when you logged into your acct. It showed the map of where you are going and the ship route and gave each port docking and deporting time. Is this now gone ??? I really liked looking at that, It made it easier (for me) to schedule excursions and/or know at a glance when you needed to be back to the ship. Any help or direction as to where this is or if it is just gone.

    Thanks , David

  7. FYI, I paid $4300 for this suite for the 4 of us. Paid around the same price last year. At one point I could have had the Star Loft Suite on this same sailing for a total of $10k for the four of us. The $5,700 difference did not make sense to me. And don't get me started on the quotes I got from NextCruise last September for this cruise - $12k for the same GS I am in now.

That is a great deal !!! We (4) of us myself, DW, BIL and SIL are booked on Allure for November 2019 and we are in a GS 2bdrm. We paid only $7997 for ours, I also would not pay $10k for this room, I might pay $10k for CLS but not for a GS. Hope you have a great time and I will be following along.

  8. Just a curious question to the OP:

If you are picking an Oasis class ship ....have you considered the easier drive to Port Canaveral versus Ft. Lauderdale and Miami?

Oasis (and soon to be Harmony) home ported there, doing the same routes as her sisters in the south.

I like going to Port Canaveral, been many times. At the time we booked Allure was not docked there. Also the SIL and BIL like the itinerary that we are going on. In the future if Allure does move there I would def drive to PC over FLL or MIA

  9. For all of the drivers out there, download the WAZE app... It will reroute you automatically if there is any issues on the road. I live in Nashville and I use it daily going to and from work because traffic here is a hot mess on a good day. I live by that app!!! It will alert you of objects in the road, police reports, red light cameras, traffic accidents, construction zones, etc... It will reroute you and adjust your arrival time accordingly. I never travel without it.

I use Waze too every morning. Its is very helpful for traffic and where police are on your route.

  10. I live in New Tampa and go back and forth to Fort Lauderdale all the time. You can get to Port Everglades very easily well under 4 hours. Traveling on a weekend you have no concern with traffic on I-595 from the end of Alligator Alley to the Port.

Thank you for this info. I think this is what we will do unless I get out voted and the DW and SIL want to go night before to see sights of Ft Lauderdale and do a nice dinner.

  11. Hello fellow CC posters.... I am looking for some opinions on driving to FLL from West Central FL/North Tampa Bay area. We are booked on Allure Nov '19 to West Caribbean from FLL and we were just going to drive down the morning of embarkation and save the money for a hotel. Thinking leaving around 5:30 am so we would have plenty of time. Some friends of ours recently traveled down to FLL from our area and said traffic is pretty rough before you get to the port, So I am wondering if it is better to get a hotel rather than drive and have to worry about accidents or heavy traffic.

  12. Hucifer,

This by far is the most entertaining cruise review I have ever read. Filled with sarcasm( which makes it even better)comedy and some great commentary. You made us feel as if we were with you or at least wish we were. You tell a great story, I wish we could have been at your table for dinner, would have made for great convos, Sorry you had such sticks in the mud for dinner mates. Anywho, there are 4 of us going on Allure next Nov' and can't wait, We may do the same specialty dining you did just because of your experience on how great the food was.

Again, thank you for the great report and hope you will do anther one after your next cruise. I bet you will have some great stories with your 11 yo with you.

  13. The only negative in that regard is probably more the fault of Royal. If you like to redeeem your points early to make sure you get the credit, Royal, I believe just sits on the notice and doesn't apply it to your account till just before the cruise.

This happened to me last year for our Alaska cruise. I redeemed points early and didn't see anything until 30 days I think before the cruise. Now I will wait so when I redeem it is taken off then.

  14. Anybody here have the RC Credit card? Considering getting one. Only going on 2nd cruise this summer, but definitely would like to do more. Any thoughts or perks that make it worth it? TIA! :)

We have had this card for many years, (2004) and have used it for many a onboard credit and a free 4 night Bahama cruise. The card gets used alot and paid off every month. So the perks are worth it to us. Hoping to have a lot of onboard credit and pay the balance off by Nov '19 when our next cruise is.
