  1. The Kronos band was excellent and capable of playing several different genres of music most of which we enjoyed immensely. Perhaps they could wrap up the screaming electric guitar songs by 10 or 11 pm and then wind down the volume/style of music after that.

    Comments?

I hope Kronos and the screaming guitar player are still there on our 1/21 and 1/25/16 sailings. We were on the 12/10 and 12/14/15 Brilliance sailings and the guitar player was so loud we had to book 2 more sailings just to watch him bend the strings again.;)

  2. Anyone know who is in the CL and DL on Brilliance? We board in six days and can't wait! Is the CL and DL both in Viking? Thanks

Yes, both CL and DL are in the Viking Crown area. Concierge was Derick Martis last month.

When we were on the Brilliance Dec. 10 and 14 sailings, Brian Kling was in the DL and Derick Martis was in the CL. Both are really nice and helpful.

When I mentioned to both that we would be back on the Jan. 21 and 25 sailings, Brian said he would be leaving and going home to Virginia on Jan. 16. Derick said he would be going over to the DL.

  3. 6000 people on a ship. You don't understand that there might me some "drama" that occurs every day everywhere else??

You are correct. But the look on the passengers face when Captain Johnny kicked them off of the Oasis was priceless. Problem solved.

  4. I thought all passengers are suppose to adhere to the guest conduct policies while on a Royal Caribbean cruise. I've seen guests forced to leave the Oasis during their cruise due to bad behavior (fighting). When you print out your boarding pass, you must agree to the terms.

I really don't understand all of this drama that occurs during a cruise that is supposed to be enjoyable for all guests.

  5. I know this is an old thread, but how did this work for you?

What/where did you end up getting your Euros?

    Thanks!

I'll post my experience. I've ordered Euros from my local Bank Of America branch 3 times. Since it's only a few blocks from my house, I go to the teller and order Euros in various denominations. If it's less than $1,000, I pay the $7.50 fee. They deduct the charges from my checking account and the Euros are delivered to my branch in about 2 days. They call when they arrive and I pick them up.

I've also used ATM's in Europe to get foreign currency and haven't had any issues.

  6. When we were on Independence in January, the Champagne bar did not accept the vouchers. I'm guessing it's proximity to the dining room may have been the issue.

We were on the Oasis and Allure in December. The letter on the Oasis stated that the vouchers would not be honored at the Champagne bar. But the next week on the Allure the Champagne bar was included, and our bar server Lu took great care of us.

It appears that a lot of these rules vary ship to ship.

  7. Hello - I was concerned about our 21st October booking and received this from the Haimark Line passenger services manager when I queried it:

"The MS St. Laurent was involved in an accident in the Eisenhower locks a little over 2 weeks ago. She sustained damage to the front part of her hull and we expected her to be repaired in-time for our July 5th sailing. The repairs though, had taken a bit longer than expected and we had to cancel our July 5th sailing. Our next sailing is the July 14th sailing and repairs are expected to be complete for this cruise. We do not anticipate this accident affecting any further sailings, including the October 21st cruise that you are confirmed on.

    Their email address is info@haimarktravel.com

    best of luck!

Yes, our July 5th sailing was cancelled and I see the ship is currently on its way to Montreal. I wonder if the July 14th sailing is going to be reversed, since it was suppose to leave from Chicago.

  8. We have a great 10 day out of Venice in November 2016 for $1650 solo. Just got $600 reduction. Plenty of good prices if you look

I agree, we're booking 12 months or more out. Last year we booked 4 Brilliance cruises for Dec. 2015 and Jan. 2016, low prices with OBC from RCI. We just booked the Harmony for Dec. 2016.....great prices with free gratuities from RCI.

  9. I just spoke on the phone to the Haimark Travel booking office and the lady said that St Laurent will be ready for the 5th July sailing!:D

Great, we're really looking forward to this cruise. I'll be tracking the ship when it comes out of dry dock.

    Thanks for the information.

  10. Just received this email:

    Thank you for your email.

All passengers from the current sailing have returned home and the MS St. Laurent is on her way to the shipyard in Montreal for repair. Our June 26th sailing (a European charter) has been canceled so that she can get repaired. However, we do anticipate that the July 5th and all subsequent sailings will operate.

    Sound positive so far!

    Good news

I think they will probably be able to repair her in time for your cruise July 5th

    Keep us posted

    Lyn

Thanks, I guess I'll start packing, we fly to Montreal on July 4th. Keeping fingers crossed just in case.;)

  11. Great news....looks like the Saint Laurent will be sailing to Quebec City today under its own power.:)

6/21 - Massena, N.Y. - The St. Lawrence Seaway has reopened to traffic after the cruise ship Saint Laurent was pulled out of Eisenhower Lock by the Groupe Ocean tug Ocean Pierre Julien shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday.

Saint Laurent, with a jagged hole torn in her stem, was tied to the lower lock wall for inspection. Divers conducted a survey of the vessel and determined that the extent of the damage was to the bow of the vessel and that the vessel can sail under its own power.

The Saint Laurent is scheduled to sail to Quebec City, Canada, on Sunday.

Traffic through the locks had been suspended since 9:15 p.m. Thursday when the vessel struck a concrete bumper that protects the west gate after the ship entered the lock. The ship’s more than 270 passengers were removed by basket from the vessel Friday afternoon,

Ship traffic through the locks is expected to be heavy over the next several hours with seven ships listed as being between the Iroquois Locks, near Waddington, and Snell Lock late Saturday afternoon.

Cause of the accident has not been determined.

  12. Glad this post came back up. I have never heard of these Crystals and like others they seem to have forgotten us :(

I've only received our crystal block collection by calling the Crown & Anchor desk. They put the order in to have them mailed to our house.

  13. I do not think people will be cancelling at this late date but the big question is will the ship be repaired & make it to Chicago to pick up those on the July 5th cruise

I would be waiting to see if the ship gets repaired before booking with them

    YMMV

The July 5th cruise starts in Montreal and ends in Chicago on the 14th. No word yet....our fingers are crossed.
