  1. IMHO the overall beverage service has declined since the advent of the drink packages.

At many locations, bars , pools , show room etc……Just think about it, the drinks are paid for in advance along with the 20 % gratuity, less drinks served = more $$$$ for the cruise line.

Before drink packages became popular, you could not walk 6 feet on a ship without a beverage server asking you if you would like a drink .

After around 90 minutes on hold, the Celebrity rep I reached was very helpful. She also didn't seem surprised at all and immediately knew that all the promo codes had dropped off the reservation. I'm guessing this is a common problem. She said sometimes the smallest change to a reservation causes this to happen.  So even me adding a special occasion note? She did not think bidding on an upgrade triggered it.

She passed the info onto someone who fixed it, while I stayed on hold. So a great experience with customer service but a panic  attack from their accounting software.

Very happy that this was resolved for you. Hope you have a great cruise 🚢

HAL changed my cruise itinerary from southern Caribbean to Eastern Caribbean and I  booked the lowest category veranda for the southern Caribbean and upgraded with club orange.  I did a mock booking using the same category that I first booked and the new itinerary is $960 less then what I originally booked.  Does HAL automatically refund the difference or do I need to call them.

I would definitely call them asap. That whole situation stinks.

Wife and I are sailing to the ABC islands in April of 2025 from Fort Lauderdale. We'll require air from Philly to Fort Lauderdale the day before we sail. My wife has some mobility issues, so we want to fly first class. I've searched their website but can't find any information because our cruise is too far out. Has anyone used their air and requested first class? We don't fly too often so not sure if it's worth booking air with Celebrity of privately. Thanks for any input.

    Hi Trainguy,

If it were me , I’d book my own flights.
Hope you have a great flight and a wonderful cruise. 🚢

I always use a third party, specifically my Chase credit card insurance coupled with Geoblue annual medical policy. As an aside I understand now Bank Of America has a travel credit card with insurance.

Can you tell me which chase credit cards provide travel insurance for cruises ?
