  1. Was thi8s 2 dollars on a roughly 8 dollar drink?? If so, that's a whopping 25 percent sales tax? Anyone else noted these tax rates?

Applicable state and local taxes will be charged to the guest folio when this program is used within US waters. The tax is based on the state's tax structure and the cost of the individual drink purchased (not the daily program rate). For example: if the drink price is $5 and the tax is 10%, the guest's Sail & Sign card will be charged $0.50 for tax. This applies to all US ports (embarkation home ports and ports-of-call).

I copied and pasted this off of Carnival. I am sorry that RoperDK didn't have a good experience. BUT, we do not want to most bad information and scare fellow cruisers. I will try my best to find the facts.

    Thank you, Bobbi

  2. What are your favorite foods on the ship? Tell me what you like at the buffet, MDR, included restaurants, charge restaurant etc.

I love room service coffee in the morning, I love the bread in the main dining-room. Pizza at mid-night!

  3. We charge our kindles before we leave home and they are good for a while. We still have 2 phones that needs charged and I have a cpap and WGF needs a fan at night.

This will be the first year my husband has a cpap on the cruise. So glad you said something. Will I need to bring an extension cord?

So great full you said that :)

  4. As said above, while in Mobile and until you reach international waters, the ship has to use the "Alabama Bar Menu" which is a reduced list of beer, wine, liquor. It's the same as Carnival ships that sail from Texas in that they are only allowed to sell alcohol purchased from the state liquor control board so they keep it to a small list in order to not have to buy as much of it. Once in open seas, they actually do a short shutdown at the bars and take away the Alabama bottles and put up the duty free booze bottles and beers. I watched them do it on Fantasy at the casino bar in November. It took about 5 minutes (they moved fast).

Does anyone have a link to this information? Thanks

  5. This is me 100%. I'm not sure if I broke even any of the 4 or 5 times I've done CHEERS, but I am sure that it was nice to order a drink when I wanted without worrying about the final bill. The last 2 times were after they included the coffee, water, etc - and that has really sold me on using CHEERS as long as it's available. I love a good cup of coffee or two everyday.

I know it sounds really stupid to pay for CHEERS if I'm not going to financially benefit from it, but it works for me. The peace of mind and the convenience mean more to me than the fact that I may spend $5 - $10 more on some days on CHEERS than if I would have paid as I went.

Well said. I feel like I am free from a budget and worrying about the tab! I never drink 15 of anything.
