  1. We are totally hooked! I told my daughter I'd pay for her and her fiance´ to go on a cruise for their honeymoon, but WE wouId have to go with them! She said; that's fine. The ship is plenty big enough so we'd hardly see other. LOL

I loved Magen's bay. How cool was it to be swimming in warm water while it was raining!?! [emoji3]

We were really looking forward to going to Norman Island but we couldn't. You guys lucked out!

Yes, we were fortunate to find private board to Norman island after the disappointment of Virgin Gorda and JVD cancellations. Even though some complained at Magen's Bay, we were like kids in the warm water! Amazing the bond you form with others in the water...

Wow, generous of you to pay for both. You are right -- you will never see each other unless you plan some dinners or an excursion. My son got married on the Sun cruise 8 years ago and it was the best wedding and family reunion we could have ever planned. NCL group coordinator was fantastic.

  2. Enjoyed your review! You will be hooked on cruising. We were on the same sailing... we too made the most of the strong winds the first few days and the changes to our schedule. We had fun swimming and laughing in the rain at Magen Bay. Since our Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke were canceled due to weather, we were happily surprised when we took a private boat to Norman Island -- what a great day snorkeling, swimming and eating. We met lots of neat people. Understand the mixed feelings about Nassau -- we tried the Resort Pass for a Day at the British Colonial Hilton for the first time -- which was great for sunbathing, swimming in the ocean and pool, and eating lunch & having a tropical drink -- there is no snorkeling. Since it was my birthday, the waiters and waitresses were very good with a cake at the Hilton and of course on board the Escape as well. Looks like March is a popular birthday month!

  3. Years ago, NCL had religious services during certain holy days. Not sure when it ended. Yes, the special events will work with you. After they know someone is willing to organize it, they will reserve a room and publish it in the Freestyle Daily. In addition, if a priest or minister is on board and wants to offer an Easter service, they will normally provide a location and publish the service as well.

  4. I have 2 boys (16 and 14 yrs) and we are considering Food Republic. Did your kids enjoy it? Also it looks like you order several dishes that you share, is that correct? You mentioned $7/dish, curious on how that works.

I concur with many of the comments about the Food Republic. We went Friday night last week -- and it was packed. Food was delicious. Great service. Good variety. Enjoy! Here is the menu if it comes through okay....67485325c25fe39db1e137e7b5a41c61.jpg

  5. My recommendation to NCL: leave them empty and the passenger who wants it -- would simply ask to add it. I tried to call Ncl in advance of a sailing -- but they said I had to ask CS to remove it when on board.

  6. Some of these postings are making us laugh and some are not. We often forget something small (which we can buy on the ship or someone else in the group has)....but certainly not too many clothes. We forgot our favorite paperback books -- so now we like the kindles -- as long as we download our books in advance....

  7. We are sailing Escape March 18 and wondered if Jovo will be back on as HD and if Tyler will still be CD (or if he will

already be gone on vacation)..... so excited for our third sailing on Escape!

Jovo is there now and is expected to be on the Escape March 18th. Tyler was scheduled to leave March 4th but is staying another week -- he is staying flexible when he leaves. We, too, are going back on our third sailing on Escape... a great ship and crew!
