  1. You asked, I answered. No shame in that for me.

I'm also a big proponent of RCI catering to suite guests, even though I am not one. I believe for the money they pay they are entitled to additional benefits and services.

But that doesn't mean anyone can walk up to me and claim the seat I am in. I'd laugh so hard I'd get the tingles. :)

    I couldn't agree more.

I am not that crazy, I wouldn't address a issue with no seats to those occupying those seats. I really am not rude. RCCL, for their bottom line, must continue to cater to suite guest. They also must remember their loyal patrons. RCCL must adjust the C&A at times when needed if lounges become overcrowded, not me. Otherwise Suite guest will find another cruise line that does.

  2. Chefs Table is awesome and everyone should try it. On Majesty 5/27, we had the Chefs Table with a total of 6 guests, all adult. The wine sommelier for our evening was an officer by day and worked as a manger of the WJ during Breakfast/Lunch. Great gentleman, he kept us informed of all we needed to know. Chefs Table limit is 12 people, Friday night was 6, Saturday was full, Sunday 10. None of those guest had children. If a guest wants to pay the $85 per child, I would have no problem with them there.

We live in a new world these days. I would hope the kids will be well behaved. My kids are adult now with kids of their own. We always included my kids in any special dinners or events we did. I was glad they acted appropriately.

  3. We booked several cruises while on Majesty 5/27. We attempted to book Harmony for a 7 day GS. We ended up taking similar cruise on Allure, almost all things equal. Harmony gets a premium price, as it is a new ship. For the 7 days, nearly same cruise, Harmony to Allure, it was almost $2000 more to book Harmony. We will wait till newness wears off. Allure/Oasis are fine ships.

  4. The Casino Royale program is in a bit of a flux right now. There have been reports of players who are not part of Casino Royale getting offers via email or through regular mail.

If your friend had their card in the machines while playing, there is a chance they may have some history. I would have your friend call Casino Royale and check. The number is 888-561-2234. There can be significant savings and worst case scenario is they say no. Good luck!

This site is awesome. I just called this number and they said I was rated. I asked why I was not notified and they said they didn't have my email address. They had the wife email, who books the cruises but she was not rated as she does. Not play. I play table games, Craps and Roulette.

The Casino Royal lady was super nice. Because of my rating, we were able to save almost 50% on one cruise we booked online and she gave me a code to pass on to my TA for the others. She said we would save a significant amount of money for my play time. She said we get more discount based on the room type and ship. We generally book GS but this one was a Superior Bal and we are wait listed for GS.

THANK YOU for the phone number.

  5. What was you original screen name? I have a couple of guesses but will let you tell us.

Hum.... Just signed up last week. The lady and I, just started to cruise seriously. We had been taking care of a family member the past three years, unfortunatly he passed early this year.

I retired recently and she has about 10 years left. We have found that cruising is one of the best ways to relax and for her to get away from the business. We love turning off our phones and could care less about VOOM or phone service. We use our phones only for pictures.

She has about 40 nights on RCCL and I have just over 30. With out currently booked cruises, we will have and additional 86 points for staying in GS. For her, that will be 126 points by Dec 2017. We were booking Balconies until Majesty. We were very disappointed with the small cabin but still had a awesome time. We spend very little time in the cabin. We are good people. I worked hard to get where I am. She shares ownership with her partners in her business.

We really could care less about FREE drinks as we always purchase a drink package. PP for me and UP for her as she loves speciality coffees and teas.

Actually, we seldom spend anytime in the lounges as we stay pretty busy on the cruises with other things. We have cruised with my brother and his wife and both are P's. I know they like the exclusiveness of the DL, but they generally book a suite and DO NOT buy a drink a package. They buy their drinks off the ship in Ports of Call.

Most serious or regular cruisers booking Suites will have D or D+ status in a short period of time due to double points. There is a distinct difference between a JS and a GS, in benefits onboard as well as cabin/cruise expense/cost. What kind of business model would it be if RCCL doesn't cater to their Suite guest?? I dealt with a high end budget as a high level manager for years. As much as we loved those customers that were loyal/repeat to our company, the whole deal was the bottom line profitbilty by QTR and finally that year. After year end, then it was all about the next year and each QTR, not last year. If RCCL loses site of its high end customers, then their shareholders will have issues.

Someone suggested we choose a "higher end" cruise line. We choose RCCL, first because we like them over CCL, second for convenience and caliber of guest aboard. Disney is full of kids. We can travel and be aboard in Port Canaveral injust over a hour, Ft Lauderdale and Tampa around 3 hours and Miami about 4. Life is good here. Beaches are 15 minutes away. No snow.

I have been involved in other mileage/night rewards programs, airlines/hotels/rental cars, etc. They all change and adjust often to fit the business plan and profitability for that company. RCCL should reward their frequent traveler regardless of cabin type, but if they loose site of their Suites travelers, their business and profitbilty will suffer. If they suffer , it will affect all rewards plans. RCCL needs both types of cruiser to make everyone's life better. We are not bad people, probably more like you than you think. All need to get along. How would you suggest RCCL handle their Suites cruisers??

  6. My opinion: If you are really expecting the La-Di-Da treatment, then you are sailing the wrong cruiseline. You need to move on over to the all-inclusive top of the line cruise companies. On Royal and any of the mid-market cruiselines you are not really the target market. If you were, the ships would be built with only suites. As it is, Royal builds their ships for the "masses" who don't sail in suites-or have you not examined their deck plans! The "lower" staterooms are the majority in quantity, and those are the ones Royal has to fill to even break even.

So save your breath and boasting and check out the Crystal forum and see if that suits you better.

This would be a very poor business model on behalf of RCCL if they felt this way.

  7. So we called the Pinnacle desk and asked if there were going to be changes to C & A that should have started May 1, 2016. "No," she said, "it's all the same rumor that has been going around forever." We will see...

I heard same thing but the same folks assured me that Suite guest would ALWAYS have a seat, especially if they are paying for their drinks.

  8. Sounds like a lot of hot air...

Nonetheless, I'll give you my seat if and when you reach 350 points Ill also fetch you some concierge munchies...You've got some cruisen to do till then.

Are you a business person? If a couple will book $50k in cabins excluding packages or excursions in two years, and you did it in 10+ years, who should RCCL take care of??

Trust me, RCCL will adjust the status before they start running Suite guests out of the lounges. You better worry as we are already writing a letter.

  10. Whatever!!!

I am 53............... NOT Retired!!! and have already been cruising a minimum of four times a year since 2003. 50 k is conservative.. Id rather not know the true amount honestly.

Have been buying the drink page since it first became available .....But I still like to visit the Cl Dl and SL a couple of times each cruise. Its a really nice perk..... Do I feel entitled??? YOU BETCHA

That's fine with me, as long as you give me your seat if lounge is full.

And we are now cruising a lot, so watch out.

    3000+ we shall hit

  11. AW Boo!

I paid about 50K for my 365 Diamond points!

How long did it take to spend that $50k and reach your status? Our next 6 cruises booked will far exceed that considering drinks packages and RCCL excursions and on board purchases. Who should RCCL cater too?

If you are a business man, who would you want to book on you cruise line??
