  1. Thanks. I emailed them to see if they can put something together for us.
  2. Can you tell me where you booked this with DOKOTRIP? We are doing the exact same thing when in Osaka and Kyoto next month.
  3. I said early on that I do not have dog in the fight. To date my reservation has not been canceled (knock wood). My point in posting was for those that have incurred significant financial loss may have options. There have clearly been hundreds from reading the 29 pages of posts here who will not be compensated for their losses. One post accurately described the class action process. It is not funded out of pocket but on a contingency basis. In my case the big box TA did not send me X’s T’s&C’s - I just rechecked. I was sent my cancellation rights not theirs. Nevertheless I’m questioning whether X’s ‘contract’ would protect them from damages. Especially when the way they ‘exhausted all options’ was disclosed.
  4. I’ve booked direct with X also and the T’s&C’s were never part of the process.
  5. I disagree. Those terms were not given to me by my TA during booking. I’m no attorney but have studied contract law and think this has merit.
  6. I’ve been watching this thread for days. We are booked on the November 3, 2023 sailing. Once people on our roll call started posting about the notices, I’ve been sweating bullets. Thankfully we have not received a notice about our booking. Reading about those affected here makes me think a class action suit is required. This and only this will get Celebrity’s attention and force them to correct their ways.
  7. I’m hearing cruise lines are having a hard time recruiting staff and are therefore having to reduce number of bookings and closing some restaurants. This is a familiar theme in retail in my part of the country. Maybe an excuse for incompetence. I did see that in 2018 Royal Caribbean and Celebrity had no overbookings and it’s doubtful their reservation system was changed during the pandemic.
  8. I doubt that Celebrity cares. It would be best to let them know on the ship that you are staying overnight before you leave. Here’s a discussion on this topic.
  9. We booked a room at the Intercontinental Grand. The location looked good for sightseeing and the reviews were great. Our itinerary change looks like we traded Ishigaki for Kagoshima. I don’t know much about either. Hopefully this is a good change.
  10. We are booked with Celebrity for a 12 night cruise of Southern Japan. This will be our first| trip to Japan. In addition to the cruise we will be spending 3 days in Yokohama before the cruise and 6 days in Tokyo after. Celebrity just announced an itinerary change due their inability to navigate through the Kanmon Strait at night. I would be interested in your thoughts about this new itinerary. Thank you.
