Here in my town, we have a bike ride that does this, the hand swapping is eliminated by each participant having a number. When their card is drawn, the dealer writes the number on the back of the card with a sharpie. So no swapping to make a better hand.

The beds can be separated in all staterooms (except studio). Just request on your reservation and if it's not done when you get there, ask the steward and they will be happy to separate them.

at three drinks a day it's about a wash, anymore than that and you are going to be better with the package

Yes, you can use your $50 Excursion credit at harvest Caye, BUT ONLY for an excursion. Excursion credits can not be used for anything else. Use it or lose it.
This is true, but keep in mind that the little electric boats, zipline and even stand up paddle boards all count as excursions.

My wife and I were on the Getaway Dec 4-11, 16 and really enjoyed the show, but either didn't catch or can't remember who the performers were. Any ideas?

Sounds like you already made your choice, but on the subject of beverage plans, there is a difference between non drinker and not a big drinker. For a seven night cruise you will pay 61.95 for the soda package with tip. The tip on the free beverage plan will be 99 for a 38 dollar difference. If you will have even four alcoholic drinks during the week you would be better taking the UBP.

I had these same thoughts when I saw they were taking Getaway there. I will say that the waterfront was underutilized even on our western Carrib. cruise. IMO, it's the best thing about the ship and people seem to just ignore it, which is fine by me.

as of 4 hours ago they were about 24 nautical miles south and headed that way
and from the webcam it looks like they are tied up in the middle left of the shot\

that happened on our Dec Getaway cruise as well for Category BC. I think as the inventory dwindles, they go to guarantee for that class. Not sure what the level of remaining cabins is though.

We really enjoyed the Lagoon Mangrove Wildlife tour on Harvest Caye. 1.5 - 2 hours, guides were great without being "schticky".

<snip> I wonder if I just got a rep who didn't know what she was talking about.
I think you might have. Granted, they could have changed the way it works, but we just sailed in early Dec, so if it is a change, it is very recent.

You can't prepay your excursions if you want to take advantage of the excursion credit promotion. We used it and the way it works is you reserve the excursion but have it billed to your onboard account, then after you take it, the credit appears on your statement. If you try to book online, you are required to prepay, that's why you need to book thru the excursion 800 number.

Oh, thank you....I thought Burn the Floor was in the rear dining room during dinner.
They do occasionally entertain in the Tropicana room, but that is not the main show you can reserve, as stated earlier, that show is in the theater.

based upon a quick read of these terms, it is not applicable to the -X category bookings.

The Policy changed I believe either July 1 or July 15. No water or soda allowed to be brought on.

Hello,
I am confused about the sleeping arrangements in the balcony rooms on the Getaway. All photos show one large bed and a sofa. We have 2 adults and one child. Does the sofa open up for our child? The family we are travelling with have 2 kids. Will both kids sleep on the sofa or is there a drop down bed somewhere?
Yes, the sofa makes l bed and in the rooms rated for four a second bed drops from the ceiling.

Cruise director on our Dec. 4th sailing was Belinda. Can't help with the other two.

Sorry... I should have posted that.. We are on NCL Getaway...
My suggestion, go meet the guys at Sugarcane's mojito bar and try them all (well, except the jalapeno one). They are the best bartenders on the ship, imo.
-
Sure! It should be not be a problem. If the server is confused though, just ask for baileys. Then order a coffee. Or order 2 bailey's then a coffee, based on how you like it. Enjoy.
This, the other night I ordered a shot of Baileys and a coffee and the server tried to talk me in to an Irish Coffee. I said no, just regular coffee and Baileys on the side. She brought it and I mixed them myself.

OK... I understand that my cabin will have a mini-fridge. How is this stocked? I have UBP, so how do I get it stocked with... well.... Ultimate Beverages???
Here is what we did. Asked the steward to clean it out. Then everytime I passed a bar on the way back to the cabin I would ask for a couple of beers unopened. Put them in the mini fridge and voila. Never had a problem getting the beers unopened.

Can anybody list what the taxes are on the drinks while in the different ports on a Western?
Thank you!:)
we just did Western Caribbean on Getaway and the only place taxes were charged was in Miami on sailaway. It amounted to about .80 per drink and was charged until about 5 pm at which point we were out to sea.
Oops, I see you may be talking about Western Med, in which case my answer is of no help.

Karl, what snorkeling trip did you take in Roatan?
We actually just snorkeled right off the beach at West Bay. We did Tabyana beach through the ship, but if you want to book independently you can taxi to Bananarama or a couple of others and walk right out. The reef is just yards off the beach. If you want to go by boat check the Roatan message board for suggestions.

Hey, we sail Saturday. How was the weather while at sea? We've never been on a December cruise. I LOVE the waterfront and enjoy dining outside. Is that possible on December evenings? Thanks for your thoughts!
The weather was great except our last sea day returning where it rained most of the day. The evenings on the waterfront could be a bit breezy but it was still warm. Days were hot but not unbearably so. We loved it.

Dec 4 sailing we stuck to the original iten. Costa Maya Thursday 12/8, Cozumel 12/9. It turned out it was only us and Freedom of the Seas. Not sure where Carnival Magic was, but they weren't in Costa Maya.

Having sailed both Getaway and Epic, could you answer a question:
We sailed last Dec on Getaway and loved the Waterfront. We are considering Epic now. I know there is no waterfront, but are there outdoor areas where you can relax, have a drink and watch the water go by? How did you like the two ships in relation to one another.
