Thank you Ladies Mom and Kwaj girl for your input. I would certainly enjoy dance classes, so I plan to reach out to Guest Services, and the dancers, if need be. They are standard offerings in Crystal, Seabourn and Silversea...I'm sure I won't be disappointed. I've only had cardio clases in Crystal...but I will certainly make use of the fitness equipment in Regent. Looking forward to my first Regent cruise next month!!

Could you let me know if there would be dance classes and cardio fitness programs on sea days? These are my favorite activities.

Thanks, Linda, see you and your mother in exactly one month... yay, Explorer!

Thanks all for your input. I was also able to change our flight to leave out of Miami Airport at 1:45pm, rather than at noon. Since you win some and then lose some, our Charlotte to Syracuse connection was changed to Philadelphia and we will have a higher weather risk for not arriving to Syracuse on debarkation date at all. Oh well! Hopefully all will be fine.

Thanks for the heads-up, rcandck, one alternative down. Hopefully all will be well.

Hi Ibastida (Linda),
So grateful for your question, since we also have a 12 noon flight out of Miami on debarkation day. I wonder if we can debark the earliest if we give notice to guest services. If not, another alternative (maybe not possible for you both) is to debark independently; that is, carrying our own luggage... I have no idea if this is feasible in a port with a long stretch to the terminal. Like you, I will certainly appreciate input from experienced Regent cruisers.
See you soon, Virginia

In my last cruise (on Crystal) there was a lady in a wheelchair who, at the White Night party, dazzled us by happily dancing in her chair, aided by her caretaker. I regret not reaching out to congratulate them...

Hello all,
I will also be a first time Regent cruiser in Ibastida01's cruise (looking forward to meeting her and her mother) and would also like to ask a question. Will Compass Rose be open for lunch on embarkation day? DH and I like to enjoy a nice, leisurely lunch prior to touring the ship for all its offerings... and unpacking, of course... 😋

By all means give Chartreuse a try. We dined there several times to give it a chance, but it never did excite us and we gave up. In our opinion only, we found the food to be rich as mentioned - but also blah. The sauces, albeit mostly heavy, carried no flavor. If you had given us the artichoke soup, for example, and not told us what it was we would have been at a loss to identify it. Others may disagree, which is fine, but you did ask for details...
Thanks for your feedback, SS, these details are much appreciated. -

Good for you, good attitude. Let us know if you enjoy it. In the past, I've had meals that weren't particularly my favourite in Signatures, Prime 7, La Veranda and Compass Rose. But thankfully not on the same cruise!
My new attitude is to eat light, and choose food that's not so rich. With my WC coming in a year, I have no choice!
We eat light and healthy at our home regularly, but when in vacation I splurge on rich and wonderful foods. My DH, however, has to continue his regime, since his metabolism is different than mine. I am not proud of this, since I would love to be able to share more wonderful food with him. -
Thanks much, Flossie. Wendy, I wouldn’t expect Parisian or Michelin preparations, but was only worried due to various negative comments regarding the offerings and preparations. Since up to now nobody has provided details to substantiate the reasons for the negative comments (except the richness of the food, which is understandable), I will be very much looking forward to our dinner at Chartreuse.

Thank you, papaflamingo, for your feedback. We absolutely love escargots!

Dear Lois,
From someone who retired from an overwhelming job as I think you did, you have to come back from your cruise to a Plan A. I mean, join, or develop, some activity you always wanted to do and never had time to. Something that you would find very rewarding. I worked for over 40 years with numbers (statistics, correlations, etc.) but I was always missing time to work with words. This is what I am doing now and love it!! Lois, please reflect into what makes you happy and engage!! You will not regret it.

We were on the same cruise.....only complaint for us is that we do not care for the food in Chartreuse. Food, service, entertainment, staff, crew were very very good. We have booked another. Were we lucky.??...not sure but were very happy with everything but Chartreuse.
We will enjoy our first Regent cruise next month and are very fond of French food. I am concerned with remarks about Chartreuse (not only yours, but others in other threads), and wonder if there are specific reasons the food might not be enjoyable. We have booked our first night in Chartreuse and would not like to risk a first impression on the overall cruise. Please let us know details, if ok with you. Thanks!

Hello from a fellow cruiser, Ibastida01!
Looking forward to meeting you and your mother next month. Like you both, it will be our first Regent cruise. Unfortunately, not many CC'rs in this cruise and I guess we will not have enough in the Roll Call for a M&M...unless there is an upsurge after this posting 😁. We will see you both soon!!

Bordeaux is the "petit Paris" designed by the same architect in a much smaller scale. The architecture is stunning and the city is very walkable. If you are in to chocolates, you will see a store in the street leading to the Opera House, where chocolates are hand made and designed exquisitely. I almost bought a pair of baroque era shoes, with intricate ornaments, all in chocolate. My fear of a meltdown overcame me...to this date, I regret my decision.

Hi Cam.…..omg.....sorry, I did miss that...……...you mean he is a Vet? As in a Veterinarian? I feel very silly if that
is the case
I am healing...…...the scar now seems to have some hardness behind it...…..I am guessing that is normal.
Thanks for thinking of me.
I am very glad you are doing well. I lurk at times, although I have been following the Crystal boards as I've cruised twice with them. That board is tough! Crystal, however, has been a good alternative, though I tend to prefer Silversea and Seabourn. Keep well!

Oh Lois, you need to read the last words...hilarious! Hope you are feeling much better and enjoy your next cruise.

I am going to completely sound ignorant but - what is a named suite?? Penthouse A B & C or?? Sorry to be dumb!
You would not be the only one. I imagine they would be named for particular officers, sponsors, godmothers, etc. I have only been in a PH-C suite...so why should I know? Hope somebody knows.

The main streets in Old San Juan are parallel to each other and both end at the main plaza (Plaza del Ayuntamiento) where you find the Municipal Town Hall. The parallel street nearer to the port is Calle La Fortaleza, and ends at the Governor's mansion. This is probably the street you are referring to. Hope this helps.

I do miss the more personalized service of SS and the feeling of space and privacy when you needed it. I did get to enjoy Serenity's offerings while on board. I am sure you will have a grand time in the refurbished Shadow, and we may meet you at some point in a future SS cruise. Happy Thanksgiving to you and all the Cooler family!!!

Very happy for you news, Lois, you'll be out and about in no time. Rest and take care.

Hi Spins,
As you know, I should have boarded the Shadow yesterday for LIS-FLL and was feeling a little sad about that, but I see she is sailing toward Storm Sebastian so I think they may have a crossing with echoes of our last crossing on the Whisper! Not sad about missing another crossing like that one.
I'm boarding Crystal Symphony on Sunday, not really looking forward to it but I 'spect it'll be OK.
I hope you have a wonderful cruise on the Shadow, I have to wait till January to see how she is post dry dock. Will be very interested in the new 'Arts Cafe' in the foyer, love the Arts on the bigger girls.
Hi Jolly,
I'm sorry that your comments on the Crystal board were met with such "resistance". Although I very much enjoyed our first Crystal cruise, I appreciate your opinions, and, besides, these boards are maintained to allow differing views that will benefit all cruisers. I am sorry to say that the Crystal board is not as civil as this one. However, your comments on the lack of plant based foods struck a positive note, as many people are being receptive of the concept. So they should thank you.

Lois, in order to avoid stale water in the toilet bowl that can cause rust, before leaving, just as I flush the toilet, I pour Clorox and that will make half water and half Clorox. You will be surprised at not seeing rust marks in your toilet.
