  1. Oh, you are a bringer of wonderful news!! Thank god it's only temporary. I started this thread as we love Take 5 and would be gutted if they closed it. It would also be a terrible shame for all the performers. Anyway, you have come to the rescue with your answer! πŸ˜πŸ‘
  2. Hi everyone, I have heard that they are changing the use of Take 5 to an arcade!! Does anyone know if this is true or not? It would, frankly, be terrible news as we love Take 5. Cheers. CP
  3. Thanks so much for this. I didn't know this summary existed. Really really helpful. 😊 Happy Cruising!
  4. There's a very good website called Shuperb that may have some. I have bought some Black Patent Cuban shoes for my husband from there.
  5. Hi there, What's included on the fixed price menu? Thanks.
  6. They also used to do Tequila Sunrise, but that went nearly 20 years ago. I can let you know that Princess and Cunard still do it.😊
  7. Hi there, No you definitely won't get a Dirty Banana on P&O. We've been on Princess ourselves a few times recently and love it, but I'm afraid you'll find that P&O do not have the same drinks lists as Princess. They are very limited and do not have the range of cocktails that Princess do. This is coming from someone who's travelled on P&O for over 20 yrs. I'm sure you'll enjoy Arvia, but it's not Princess. Happy Cruising. 😊
  8. Thank you so much. That's really helpful. ☺️
  9. Indeed. My Husband loves Black Russians as well. It wasn't on the menu. It's one of the drinks advertised on the cards they have up on the bar (we always sit at the bar so saw it easily). If I remember correctly they have drinks relating to places in the World, this one was twinned with Venice - see picture below. If they aren't doing it anymore I shall ask them. 😊
  10. Hi, Can anyone currently on QV let me know if the drink called 'Bee Trap Bellini' still being offered at the Chart Room bar? Many thanks. 😊
  11. Ah, understand now. Thanks.😊 (My Husband has just said what an idiot I am for not knowing as I've eaten them many times! πŸ˜†)
  12. Could you explain what a ''brat' is? (Sorry, I'm English and a brat here is another, slightly nasty term, for a child!) 😏
  13. Very few I'm afraid. My Husband can't remember whether he got crackers or bread, either way it's nowhere near as good as here in the UK. (If you want an incredible cheeseboard you need to go on Cunard, absolutely stunning!) P&O have deteriorated sooo much we have given up on them after 20+ yrs. The cheeseboard of old used to be brought to your table by your main waiter and had at least 8 choices on it, of which you could have as many as you wanted. We used to love it! On formal nights you also had a whole 'port soaked' Stilton bought over. You also had an enormous choice of crackers, with grapes (red & white) plus celery and some dried fruit. It was amazing. All gone now I'm afraid, along with a lot of other things. πŸ˜₯ Princess is, however, streets ahead of P&O. I don't think you'll be disappointed. ☺️
  14. We also enjoy cheese after dinner and have travelled over the last 20 years with P&O, Cunard, Hebridean and Seabourn , all of which do a great cheese board, some better than others. Having travelled on Princess now 4 times the cheese board is terrible. It tends to have only 2 or 3 cheeses - tends to be Gouda and Prie, occasionally Stilton and Cheddar, but not anything like we are used to here in the UK. It is also only available at dinner, not lunch (although my Husband did have one at lunch on the last sea day in June, but we were sitting in the Club Class section of the restaurant so whether that makes any difference I don't know.). However, I can tell you that the cheese selection in the buffet is much better. Unfortunately we don't eat in there, but when we had a walk around we saw the cheeses all laid out and had a nice chat to the chap who was in charge of it and he was lovely (mind you, they all are!). So I'm afraid the cheese selection is not good. If they are going to keep cruising from England they need to get better at this. I will say that Princess are fantastic to sail with and if you don't love them I will be very surprised! Happy Cruising!
  15. That is extremely helpful. 😊 We've been on her twice in the last two years, but have had a Britannia Club cabin. This time we're going with my Mother-in-law and have got two Balcony cabins, and have chosen late sitting as we prefer it. We're not going till August, but I just wanted to know in advance.😊 Thanks very much. 😊
  16. Thanks, but I only need to know about QV. πŸ™‚
  17. That's really helpful. Thanks very much. ☺️
  18. Hi, Can anyone tell me which level of the Britannia Restaurant is used for Open Dining and which is used for Fixed Dining? Many thanks. ☺️
  19. Passengers should not be restricted in what they can drink on holiday. In 20+ yrs P&O have offered a reasonable, admittedly not extensive, list of cocktails. Why on earth do they think they can change it now?! When more and more people are travelling the World this is NOT sensible thinking. I thought choice was the modern buzz word! The cocktails on Iona are certainly not giving passengers a wealth of choices.
  20. Princess is the answer..... 😁
  21. Princess is the answer..... 😁
  22. Any organisation that wishes to appeal to a large audience, which I presume P&O are (or certainly have been for the last 20+ yrs) need to offer a large range of well known cocktails. They are certainly not doing so on Iona. There is nothing wrong with doing unusual cocktails in individual bars. There IS something wrong with not offering a full range of well known cocktails. We witnessed numerous people coming to the bar and asking for a well known cocktail, only to be told they could not do it. Not only was the passenger frustrated, but you could tell so were the bar staff. P&O have got it wrong. They need to realise this and change things.
  23. Quite understand. Big ships are not for everyone. ☺️
  24. Quite. This does seem to be the way they are thinking. It would not surprise me if they are being run by a load of youngsters that sit around a table and come up with these ridiculous ideas. They have, however, seem to have sorted the 710 Club out. You now have to book via the website 'app' rather than just turning up. This works very well, although all the performances do get booked up fast (apart from the one at 12:15am!) so you do need to get in there fast. ☺️ I will say that Iona is a lovely ship with some gorgeously designed areas and, if it wasn't for the dreadful drinks menus, we would most definitely go back on her regularly. I would recommend trying her to see for yourself. ☺️
