  1. Don't let the flight forecast deter you from booking.

For the Vista European sailings I had over 60 cabins booked. More than half cancelled because they were afraid of the flight costs.

Now the cruise rates went down and the airfare is reasonable.

So many many of the cancelled guests are regretting their decision. (In the meantime they booked the regular Caribbean itineraries).

  2. All extra charges are optional. Like specialty dining (Steakhouse, Chef's Table, Jiji, Cucina del Capitano) and you will have all the regular included dining options.

Upcharge - Imax theatre and the Thrill theater. Regular entertainment is included.

  3. Not slamming, but this is clearly breaking the rules. Priority debarkation is only for Diamond, Platinum and FTTF guests.

If others need to be off the ship early they can do self assist or get a lower debarkation number. I'm sure there are other guests with early flights who would love to get off as soon as possible, but they wait their turn.

  4. Ugh!

    Assuming this ended yesterday?:mad::mad:

I just saw the tip about logging out if you had something booked.

    Now it's $99 deposit sale.

    No savings there.

Yes, today a new 3-day sale started.

    $99 pp for sailings 2 - 5 days

$129 pp for sailings 6-9 days

$199 pp for sailings 10+ daysas well as Alaska, Hawaii and Vista cruises.

Not really attractive. Carnival is earning so much cancellation money with people that book multiple cruises at the low deposits and then cancel.... They decided to up their game.

  5. I've stayed at both and both are excellent hotels.

The Embassy Suites is massive, but the breakfast is much better there. Plus a manager's cocktail party with free drinks.

The Hyatt is kind of next door, smaller and cozier.

For the price difference, I would choose the Embassy Suites for the better breakfast and the free drinks.

  6. Sorry you had bad experiences. If you had done some research here on Cruise Critic you would've known beforehand that:

    1. The internet packages are always either per day or per cruise. Once you have a package and you upgrade, that will be your package for the duration of the cruise. Pretty straight forward.

    2. Any old card would have been ok to keep in your card slot and keep your appliances charging.

  7. How were you notified when your balcony was assigned?

We are 48 days out, and when I log onto the Carnival website, it still says TBD.

We booked with a TA if that matters.

You're not notified unless your TA sends you an update. Just keep checking your Cruise Manager and at some point you'll see which cabin you got. Or... worst case scenario, you find out from the porters on embarkation day.
