  1. Yes. There are a few adjacent cabins that don't. If your cabins is separated by a fire door in the hallway, your balcony cabin partitions typically remain permanently fixed. However if the cabin next to you is in the same fire section then your steward can open the divider. Some ship deck plans illustrate where the fire doors are by a delineating line in the hallway. Bring bungie strap, duct tape, cords or something to secure it from banging all night or all your neighbors will hate you. Proping it with chair is not enough. You must secure it well. Enjoy.

  2. Spoke to the sound tech in the Explorers Lounge. He said during the dry dock the Explorers lounge got new speakers and new love seats. The barrel chairs and carpet are unchanged. I remember the love seats being different fabric but not this fabric. I sat in one and it felt more solid and flat. No sag. Pictures to help. 20190517_214601.thumb.jpg.db149bc4cc2b911f8ea69a5347a78426.jpg

    Thank you for sharing!

If you're able to share any of the Patters, that would be amazing.

Also which nights have which menu (to help with planning specialty dining, since we have two or three sets of vouchers for specialty dining).

Here are your dinner menus. I missed Day 1 but here is Day 2. I will try and update them each night.

us the changes that you see besides the Salty Dog and Slice.

Also is it true that they didn't fix the chairs in the Explorers Lounge or the lounges

outside the One5.   How did you find the food? I know everyone has difference tastes

    but would like your opinion.

     Thank You

I have sailed on the Grand two other times. California Coastal and Mexican Riviera. So I will try to compare from memory.

I have not been to places you asked about yet. I will report back about explorer and the area outside One5.

I did notice the Vista lounge got an overhaul on carpet and upholstery however the huge soft spots in the floor along the back of the lounge were left unfixed.

We all saw the wheelchair lift photos going into the princess theater. They added many more. All areas from the splash pool on 17 to mini-golf all have wheelchair lifts now. I have not yet visited deck 14 or the explorers lounge so will report back later. Crooners and Vista definately got a makeover.

  5. On the grand now. 5/16-26/2019.  Internet is better than I have ever experianced on this ship. Will know more when I get further north but the first two days has been 2mb to 5mb download speeds with 1-3 upload with a constant connection. Better than the 0.01mb download speeds I am used to. Here are the Patters from embarkation. I will answer your other questions later when I am not otherwise occupied.

Not to make you answer one of them quicker, but.... I'm on the Grand starting next Sunday. I typically get the Internet package but have heard that the internet north of Seattle is super slow - even by cruise standards. Do you see the same thing?

I am south of Seattle. Will answer it when I get north. We don't get up on the shelf until tomarrow night. Currently getting DSL download speeds. Huge improvement over my last California Coastal or 10 day Riviera trip on this ship.

I will try to answer both of your questions later. I think I will start my own thread so the information does not get lost in a movie thread. Patters, internet speeds update and more photos coming. All good news.

I get where you were coming from but I have to say that some of the BEST days cruising the Mediterranean were on our balcony watching the world go by with a drink in hand.  Pure bliss.  My main concern was current price of drinks v the package and now that I've seen the latest prices (and the wonderful array of cocktails and wines available on the package) we are going with that.  It's a chance to try new drinks and wines more than quantity of drink.

I get you, but out on the promenade, you can do the same thing, bundled in a blanket or wearing just a bathing suit. All while in a location they will bring you (serve) drinks. You can slurp one after the next while watching the world go by. Forgo balcony and the savings will pay for the drink package. Win! Wow

Too much? I did not intend to be harsh.

The OP seemed to be concerned with back and forth to the bar from the cabin. I can not imagine being in my cabin longer than one cocktail or beer. I apologize for my surprising comments.

  10. You spend too much time in your cabin. Get up and out in the AM and return in the PM. Get the package and enjoy. The best seats, movies, and views are not found in your cabin or from your balcony.

  11. I am always baffled by the complaints on the Island. Sure the Coral is my favorite ship. You could chop the aft section off the Coral at the aft elevators and I would not notice. Other than "on the bayou", bingo, and a lifeboat drill what does one even need the Universal Lounge for? The Island would be great for anyone booking mid or mid forward. I would jump on the Island in an heartbeat if an itinerary presented itself. As for aft lounging, book a balcony, suite, sanctuary lounger, or head up to the sport deck. I just don't get the outrage. #unwarranted #canthaveityourway

Yes we wash our own wineglasses as well, and we always use the do not disturb sign/ makeup cabin sign.

In fact we have the do not disturb on the door most of the time, just have Stewart in a couple of times a week for linen change and vacuuming.

Other than that we dump used towels in his cart and grab a couple of fresh ones every day or two.

Most times they are happy about this as its one less cabin to service every day, occasionally you get one who is worried by it in case their Supervisor finds out and chastises them for some reason.

We generally book longer cruises, 28 to 49 days so its pretty much  like being at home for us rather than a once in a lifetime vacation. And we just like as much privacy as we can get, a butler would be a nightmare for us, fortunately they never come with an inside guarantee cabin.

I like your style. I will try to be more like you on future cruises. As for the OP I believe some people just prefer to be the victim than the critic. 😉

  13. Do not use a bookmark. Go to www.princess.com log in and you should see a normal looking website.

Links get updated periodically and bookmarks may sometimes become invalidated or depreciated. The only way to know for sure that you are downloading a current page is to use the root url address.

Lastly to ensue you are not looking at an old cached page hold down the Ctrl key on your PC or Cmd key on Mac while refreshing the web page. This will ensure you download the most current iteration of the page you request.
