Factually, no, nothing wrong with your post. However, the OP asked a simple, straight-forward question, which was answered by post #5 in the thread. Asked. Answered. Simple. In typical CC fashion, the thread then veers off into point/counter-point discussion that is nothing but a distraction. We are already 16 posts into a thread just to answer a simple yes/no question.

The "simple" solution would have been for the thread to have been locked at post #5 to prevent anymore "distracting" comments.

The majority of public school spring breaks are later in march/April in the northeast, colleges are mostly in march. https://en.as.com/latest_news/when-is-spring-break-2024-complete-list-of-dates-for-us-colleges-and-universities-n/#:~:text=In 2024%2C the majority of,also check out the following.

Is there something factually wrong with my post? I was giving a range that can be applied to any year. For example Villanova University Spring Break 2022 started February 28. Hence my starts late February comment. Easter 2025 is on April 20. Hence my ends mid to late April comment. Your comment is accurate as well. Just trying to determine if there's something incorrect with what I said.

  3. Am I the only person who buys cheap luggage wears cheap clothes on vacation and hopes the airline or port workers lose my luggage so I can file an insurance claim? Don't put anything that is irreplaceable in your luggage and buy travel insurance and this is a nonissue.

  4. NCL does offer "Free at Sea" and part of that is $50 Shore Excursion Credit per stateroom. But, people may make the argument that NCL increased the price of the excursion by $50 so they aren't out any money but there's a perceived discount to the passenger. With loyalty status you do get discounts based on your level. So my upcoming cruises I have $50 shore excursion credit plus 10% off traveling solo. It's something at least.

Not sure if an insurance company would pay if the reason as “cancelled due to misrepresentation of being disabled”.

True. I can't imagine an Insurance company paying out due to purposely misrepresenting facts/committing fraud, but absent of that, some sort of insurance should provide some relief. But by default I buy Cancel for Any Reason Insurance in case I made an honest mistake in the hopes of getting reimbursed.

  6. I use to manage a financial institutions Visa Credit and Debit card programs. You are likely seeing preauthorized transactions. These fall off automatically one of two ways. 1) The hold expires. Depending on your credit company it can be anywhere between 3 - 10 days from when the transaction occurred. 2) If the amount of the hold matches exactly to the final bill. For example one preauthorized transaction in the amount of $152.62 is held against your account. Your final bill matches that exact amount the hold will automatically fall off. Just keep your final receipt showing you paid in full and give it about 7 days. This is the major reason why you should not use a Debit Card.

  7. I've taken potato chips, cookies, and fresh fruit. So more like snack type foods. I think there's a few reasons why they don't promote takeaway. 1) Food waste 2) More plates and utensils the room steward has to handle 3) Loss of room service revenue 4) Potential for mess/spills on their floor 5) Plates and utensils left outside the rooms are unsightly and a tripping hazard 6) Food safety/health hazard - passengers don't have the ability to maintain uneaten food at a safe temperature (think promote bacteria growth) that will be consumed "later."

  8. I've been on the Breakaway many times and it wasn't complimentary which is why I avoided it like the plague. But your screenshot is from the NCL website. I dont think NCL wants to take the risk of being accused of false advertising, so it's likely complimentary. Considering what's on the menu it should be. Can anyone currently on the Breakaway confirm?
