We had open dining on the QM2 in December. It was any time between 6 pm and 9 pm. There was no problem making a reservation for a table for 5 every evening at 7pm. No queuing involved either.
Good detective work there bluemarble. Yes, it was 5 years ago - the photo appeared today in my gallery memories. I'd forgotten I posted the other photo in 2020!
We had open dining on the QM2 Christmas markets cruise in December. We had no trouble getting a reservation for a table for five at 7pm each evening and we didn't have to queue. I prefer open dining as 6pm is too early for me and 8.30 is too late.
I am also diamond and have been given 3.30 - my friend who is platinum also has 3.30. Our other friend who has no world club status has 1.30! Seems to be random allocation. Can't even say it's down to which deck we're on as we're all on deck 8.🤔
Hairdryers are permitted, it says this on Cunard's website.
Passengers are not permitted to bring on board irons, kettles or appliances with heating elements, however hair dryers, straighteners and curling tongs are permitted.

Hairdryers are allowed - I always take mine and it has never been a problem. In Britannia the hairdryer is fixed in a drawer and I found it awkward to use.
