That clue helped a lot. That's Praia da Vittoria in the Azores.

It is. Both the QV and QE diverted to the Azores to escape horrendous weather after being unable to reach Bermuda.

Close to Herbert Walker Avenue leading to Gate 8 taken from the Royal Grand.

Correct, taken from my room in the Leonardo Royal Southampton early in the morning before boarding the QV.

My guess is QM2 at Oban, Scotland.

It took quite a bit of detective work, but Colin_Cameron's post helped focus my search to Scotland. Then, lo and behold, a google search for "Oban churches" turned up a match for the church in the right of the photo (St Columba's Cathedral).

QM2 called at Oban on May 22, 2015, so that's my additional guess as to when the photo was taken.

I thought it looked familiar,  I was onboard! It was the cruise where all three Queens met up on the river Mersey in Liverpool.

anyone had this room and have feedback to give?

    Hi

I have had 8014 a couple of times and it's hardly obstructed at all. There is a lifeboat to the left which is in front of the cabin next door but looking straight ahead and to the right there is no obstruction. I liked this cabin and would choose it again.

  5. I'm surprised to hear you've been told there will be no dance pros on your 7 night voyage. On my many voyages with Cunard there has always been a pro dance couple onboard regardless of the number of nights and there have always been dance classes on sea days. I have never heard of the dance hosts giving lessons but that doesn't mean that they definitely don't, however not all dance hosts are good dancers.

Just the opposite, we were on Cunard in the so called grills and found the food to be fair to inedible and the atmosphere very stuffy. We just cancelled further cruises with Cunard.

I'm currently on the QV in Queen's Grill. The food is good and it's certainly not 'stuffy'.

Unlike most others, we always prefer quality over quantity. It may not be right for others but it’s the way we like it.

Me too ! That's why I've just booked the 4 nights to Hamburg in a Q5. I was going to book PG but the QG was not that much more in price so I went for it! Getting excited already.

  8. Thank you all for your comments.

Yes Hattie, the Canaries trip is on the QE and Hamburg is on the QV.

I'm still a bit undecided but leaning toward the 4 nights in Princess Grill. The reason being that as I will be paying the single supplement it's not that often an affordable price for me is offered in the Grills. Plus the 4 nighter is quite a bit less in price than the 12. The money I will "save" by not doing the 12 nights will go toward a round trip New York on QM2 next year!. That's my way of thinking anyway!

    Thanks again
