  1. I'm looking for a beach that isn't too far from the port. Some place to spend a couple of hours since we don't have any tours planned.

Depends on what type of thing you like. If you are looking for a bit more upscale, grab a cab to Camabola Beach Club. For an more laid back and easy going beach, grab a cab to South Friar's Beach.

Do a search for both beaches and you will find lots of info.

    Hope that helps.

  2. Just returned from day trip to Nevis from stop in St Kitts.

Let me get my videos and pics uploaded and then I will post of review.

    Michael.........

Planning on going to Nevis on our cruise next month from St. Kitts. Anxious to read your review and see your pics.

  3. There are two excursions listed to Nevis, one is a 6 hr. Water taxi and one is a 4 hour Catamaran trip. What exactly is a water taxi? I really wanted to do the 6 hr trip, but I'd much rather go via catamaran.

Has anyone done either or both of these excursions? Any input would be helpful in deciding which one to take.

    Thanks!

  4. I am interested in taking a day sail to Nevis when we are in port. However, I have OBC to use so, I wanted to wait until we board to find a ship sponsored excursion.

My question is: If there are no excursions available, would we be able to walk off the ship and find a sailing excursion to Nevis? Has anyone tried a last minute sail to Nevis?

    Thanks.

  5. Not sure if this has happened to anyone. We are scheduled for the March 16 sailing on AOS. When trying to look for shore excursions through RCCL, there are only a few listed for St. Thomas and only 1 showing for St. Kitt's. (I was thinking of booking on board so I can use up some OBC). I know there should be more than 1 excursion in St. Kitts. (The other ports have excursions listed) I'm basically interested in St. Kitts.

I've called Royal Caribbean and C & A several times. So have members of our roll call with no luck. We keep getting promises of someone calling us back or emailing us with information. No response. The shorex email has not responded to anyone other than the generic email response after 2 weeks of emailing them.

I spoke with someone today who now tells me its possible that the shore excursions may not be loaded until 30 days before sailing  although she didn't know for sure.

Has anyone sailed where shore excursions are not loaded well in advance? Or not been loaded until 30 days out?

We're just trying to figure out what's going on with this.

    Thanks for any input.

  6. We are doing MTD on our upcoming cruises. However, we've never done dinner in the Windjammer. This time we would like to pack a bit lighter and a bit more casual for this longer trip.

We will probably do MDR a couple of nights and Specialty Restaurants a couple of nights. However, we won't be bringing formal clothes for formal nights.

I did notice on the 2nd formal night (I believe), Rack of Lamb is served. Would this be available in the Windjammer for dinner if we decide to eat there? Are the same dishes served in the MDR, served as well in the Windjammer for dinner?

Any helpful comments on having a dinner or two in the Windjammer? I would appreciate the input.

    Thanks.

  7. Ours would be:

Calabaza in Barbados. Great time swimming with the turtles.

    And

Rome in Limo private tour of Pisa and Florence. Amazing sights.

Oh, thanks for posting this. We are doing Calabaza in March. Sounds like an awesome time.

So far my favorite place had to be 'The Baths' in BVI.

  8. Hi all. We rarely book excursions through the ship, but on the occasion we have we do them in advance. However, I have some OBC I'd like to use towards an excursion on an upcoming cruise. I am assuming I will not be able to do this until we board the ship.

Has anyone done this? What are the chances the excursion will be sold out by the time we board? I'm guessing the procedure would be to head straight to the explorations desk as soon as we board?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  9. Sorry if this has been answered. We've been to St. Thomas twice before and have usually just gone to the beach then wandered around Havensight Mall area before getting back on the ship.

    My questions:

The bay that the ship is anchored is sort of shaped like a horseshoe (hope you're following me here). When we get off the ship it roughly by Senor Frogs and the Mall area. If I look across the bay, it appears to be the main part of town/city. What is located there? Can one walk from the ship over to that area? Are there other things there besides the same shops as Havensight?

Any help for this clueless grandma?

    Thanks.

  10. That's correct. Beulah and her drivers will be at the Rum Barrel and she asks you to be there at 11:25. No need to book in advance.

There will be some other tour operators coming around trying to lure her customers away. :(

Hi Tallyho - Can you tell me where Beulah took you for you tour? What stops did you make, was there beach time etc.?

    Thanks.

  11. Thank you so much for all of this information. We were undecided what to do in Tortolla (We've been to The Bath's before) and just thought we'd do a Beach Day. Sounds like Brewer's Bay is the perfect choice for us.

    Thank you again!
