More importantly, what is the point of paying for a balcony if you can't sit on it to enjoy the sea view? The whole thing with either cruise line makes no sense to me whatsoever. We have an upcoming trans-Atlantic on Odyssey next year with an aft facing balcony. What else are you supposed to do with a balcony for 14 days if not not able to sit on it?
It was stated that they are removing loungers, not chairs.

Did you ask her what she did after she boarded the ship? Perhaps she used a restroom or stopped to get something to eat?

Our annual policy covers both of us. I listed both of us when I got the quote. They did tell me that if our granddaughter was part of our household she would be covered. Again we got this policy because we also wanted to cover our pre and post cruise travels.
I suspect that an annual policy that covers 11 different people would be quite an expense.

I know about Insure My Trip. My post about another family needing to be Medevacked has me thinking about RCL Insurance which I always get. Recently we have started booking more cruises in a year. My question is how do I cover all my cruises if each one has different people involved.
Two cruises are with our granddaughter, one is with our grandson, another with 7 family members and the last with just my husband and I. How do I work this out with an annual policy so everyone is covered.
I believe I can cancel RCL insurance as long as final payment hasn't been made. Thank you
When you buy the insurance, you aren't insuring a cruise. You are insuring a person. So you would have to insure each person separately, either with an annual policy for each of them or a per cruise policy for each of them.

I loved it on Celebrity. It brings in so much more daylight than a standard balcony, making the room seem bigger. And if you close the window, the space becomes part of the room, making the room actually even bigger.

You are wanting to know the cost of the two flights. Have you asked the company(s) that performed the flights? It seems like they would be the ones that would know.

Expect to pay more for less than before and you won’t be disappointed.
Lol so true.

Lower quality food (in many people's opinion). Less menu choices for dinner. Once a day room steward service.

In the past RCCL has been very hesitant to go back to countries with this kind of criminal and dangerous activity happening. It took them over a decade to go back to Mexico.
When did they not go to Mexico? I feel like they've been going to Cozumel forever.

We are lookin at this, who was your travel agent who helped you out with this?
Be careful...travel agents are not to be discussed on Cruise Critic.

I wouldn’t call that number, then they will have YOUR phone number.
Just enter *67 before dialing. It blocks your number from being displayed.

My suitcase was too thick to fit under the bed on one of the older ships out of Baltimore. I asked the stewardess to store it somewhere. She pulled the couch away from the wall and we put all of our luggage back there. I ended up doing this on some other cruises.
Sometimes there's a metal bar at the edge of the bed that is lower than the rest of the underneath space. You might try lifting the edge of the bed then slide your suitcase underneath.

Yes those desserts remind me of something that might come out of a Star Trek protein resequencing food replicator. They all seem to be be made out of the same basic 3-4 ingredients yet they take on various visual forms. So you end with a slice of pie that is eerily similar to the jello.
Isn't that the truth! If they would put half as much effort (and better ingredients) into making the desserts taste good as they do in how they look, they would be so much better!

I'll join the chorus and say that we have never had very good luck with the ships' laundry service.
...
we have always been extremely happy (and grateful) with the laundry service provided.
I'm confused.

It should be easy. You have to be off of the first ship by around 9:00 a.m. and you probably can't even board the second ship until 11:00 a.m. or so. Your biggest issue will probably be figuring out how to kill the time between the two cruises.

Will the rooms have network TV though? my recollection is room TVs were very limited
They typically have some sports channels. Not sure if it would include what you want or not.

My Celtics are beginning the NBA Finals this week and it just so happens that if there is a game 7, it will be taking place while I am on the Oasis in the middle of the Mediterranean. At 2 am local time!!!
Is there any way I will be able to watch this? I'm getting internet but worried the service will not be good enough to stream live video (and who knows if I even can from out of the US with rights and all). Would love if there was a place on the ship to watch it.
Note - I dont even care about drinking or being served at that time, just having a place with working TVs
Your room?

You still didn’t answer my question…what item(s) of yours were ruined? How often have you used the laundry perk (or paid for it)?It looks like your questions are going to go unanswered.

I’ve noticed the bags of linens under the bed but we could always fit our two suitcases and carryons so it hasn’t been a problem.
Same here. Just push the steward's stuff toward the wall and you should have plenty of room.

Everyone complains about urine in pools and hot tubs, but how many people go out in the ocean with all the marine poo, urine, and who knows what else?
Sorry, I just don't get the "ick" factor. Honestly, I don't think about it.
Same here. Pools and hot tubs don't bother me at all.

Good morning all. I had heard that traffic in Houston is extremely heavy. When we disembark from Galveston & head back to the Houston airport, what is the earliest flight we should consider? thank you
Which Houston airport? That makes a difference.
Also, when I saw your thread title, I thought, "that would be a short flight!"

“IF” you do manage to get them onboard be prepared to carry your chairs around with you until the rooms are ready about 1pm. No way are porters going to accept beach chairs!!
Why not? If they are in the normal bags, they are little different than a duffle bag.
When is the ramp pulled up, if everyone is not on board?
