Thank you everyone! I’m not embarrassed anymore as i thought I was missing something very obvious lol! There are some great reviews, but when they 25+ pages long of friendly banter I just want to skip to the the good bits! 🙂

I’m embarrassed to ask this...
How can I read a thread so I only read the OP’s posts? I love reading live reviews but don’t want to go through pages and pages of endless chatter to follow along.
Thank you you so much for kind answers!! 😊

I was on Oasis last year and sent a bag out as we were staying at Disney after. Never again. I never knew you could shrink socks and underwear. Everything was boiled until it was a dingy grey colour.

I’m assuming the new suite designation and its perks also means suite level gratuities?
-
Beware that they are industrial washers and dryers. Don’t send out anything delicate or pricey. I would not use again.

I extremely happy to hear this! I was under the impression I would only get double points when we stay in 1854 next year. I'm really looking forward to this cruise now! I'm glad you had a great cruise! :D
Me too! I’m in 1854 in March. I was excited before, but this would be the cherry on the cake :)

Huh. Have one booked for next week and just got an email from the Suite Concierge outlining the full suite benefits. It's going to be hard to walk this one back if we don't get it....
Following this closely, I have a VP booked for March. Can’t seem to get a straight answer about what benefits you get beyond double points. As an aside, I notice the VP’s are now priced higher than JS.
Please keep us updated bmr12!:)

I had to escalate getting free gratuities credited to our acct (it was advertised in error but I had screenshot the ad so they honored it). However, when they credited the grats to our acct, instead of 2 people it was for everyone in my party. That was a nice surprise!

We were on Oasis in March last year and got an ash shower. It was messy and landed all over the aqua theatre. No embers though, that would have been a little unnerving.
ETA: I zoomed in on your pic, definitely not anything like that.

If there are no more cabins left in your category how do you know if it went down? Do you have to call them every time a new sale starts to check the price?
My last price adjustment was in Jan and that price won’t be beat now, so I’m done adjusting. But I was tracking the JS suite pricing, if that went down I’d call. It was a pain but well worth it as I saved significantly.

Don't forget that you are only able to qualify for the price drop if there are still staterooms left in the category you booked in when the price drop is announced.
So say you booked a JS and all the JS are sold out for the sailing. A price drop is announced; you won't be able to get the difference.
We have a Pano on Deck 12 on FOS in April 2019..fingers crossed there are still some left by 05/01 because there aren't that many to begin with!!
Is this a new thing? I’m booked in a pano room (1854) for next March on AOS, and have repriced it four times since I originally booked. The other cabin went months ago.

I keep checking to see if anyone has stayed in and posted a review of the new rooms. It’s very quiet in here!

And Feb 1 , 2017 when they started BOGO 60% second guest but forgot to take the prior BOGO 30% off the first guest.
Only lasted for a few hours in the early morning until someone from IT came in and fixed it:halo:
I scored on one of those early morning IT hiccups in January. They were offerering free grats on Oasis class suites. For a few hours they were offering them on all suites plus $350 OBC. I took multiple screen shots and it required escalation calls til February to get them to honor it, but they eventually did. They’ll get their money back and more but it felt great for a day! :)

I think it’s fair to say that for every person limiting their food intake, the majority are eating and drinking “to get their money’s worth.” That mentality will never change.

Chomping at the bit to see some pics of 1864...The ones from her sister ship are not cutting it for me! ;p
I’m keeping an eye out for pics/reviews from 1854! I’m a year away from sailing but still excited to see.

We took our first cruise on Oasis last year with our 11 year old son who is anaphylactic to peanuts. I was a nervous wreck to start with as it was out of my comfort zone.
I emailed special needs prior to our sailing who told me to contact the maitre’d on the first night. He was excellent and came to see us every night at dinner to advise us what was on the menu and safe to eat. My son ordered his own meal the night before and it was prepared in a separate area of the kitchen.
We ate in the MDR every evening and requested our own table for our family of four. Places like the wipeout cafe we visited to find out what was safe or not. I also brought packaged snacks from home for the days we were away from the ship.
All in all it was a very positive experience and I feel they handle food allergies very well.

That was too easy, didn’t even have to talk an agent it’s all automated!
Better yet, the credit appears. It only took 2 calls, 2 escalations and 6 weeks :)

Strange question I know, but I don’t have the greatest faith in RC’s website.
Today I resolved a long standing issue with obtaining free gratuities for my AOS sailing next year. RC credited my account and it shows up on my online account (I took a screen shot just to be safe.) However, I didn’t ask for a new invoice to be emailed to me. Do you think I should? I’m afraid what I see online today won’t be there tmrw!
-
I don't like that you don't see that on your invoice either. I made my booking a few days ago and the price was the same today so the rep told me that I would get them and it was not necessary to have them put on and then taken off. Not sure if I trust that but I have copies of the promo and screenshots as well. I would have cancelled and re-booked but I have a good cabin that I was afraid of losing
I’m in a similar situation. The agent I dealt with said it will “appear” as a credit on my reservation in 7-10 business days. He told me to call back if it didn’t. Why can’t anything with them be straightforward? I can’t believe we have to screenshot their promotions in order to get them.

What date in March? We are booked on the March 30, 2019 Adventure sailing and I see no such offer.
We sail March 23 2019, free grats and OBC offered shown under the suite level.
ETA: just checked my sail date and the free grat offer has been removed. I’m assuming it was a glitch, but it will be interesting to see if they still honor mine as they indicated. It was online for 12 hours.
-
Oh they do? On all ships? What type of benefits? Which ship are you booked on?
I’m booked on AOS for March 2019.
-
So you are on Adventure and the website says "Suites, Free Gratuities" You took a screen shot of that and sent it to them, they initially said no, but honored it anyway? If so, sign me up?
It was specific to my sailing in March 2019. Do a mock booking for your sail date and see what extras apply. Every sailing is very different.
-
I thought you were referring to Adventure of the Seas. But you were referring to Anthem right? I can see where the add talks about Anthem but not Adventure. Maybe next time.
I am on AOS, that was my problem! The website showed free grats, the fine print doesn’t. That’s why I needed the screenshots, the agent was confused too. My grats are $492 CAD it was worth the effort for me!

I am in the same room category on the June 29, 2018 sailing. Any advice on how to get that honored on my sailing? What screenshots did you use? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Scott
I just took screenshots of the actual promotion, the category showing free grats and $350 OBC and finally the price of my room. The agent had me email him while on the phone and he passed it along to the resolution dept.
I think the price of the room is important because RC’s creative accounting can change in a moment. ;)

My son is anaphylactic to peanuts. We sailed on Oasis 2 years ago and leave this week on AOS. As everyone suggests I contacted the special needs dept to have his allergy noted on our reservation. On Oasis, the maitre’d was wonderful. He came by every evening and my son (aged 10) chose his next evening meal. From what I understand it was prepared in a dedicated area to avoid cross contamination. I should add that we chose traditional dining and requested a table just for our family. I wanted to have the same wait staff every night who were familiar with our allergy status.
We we are hoping to eat in the WJ this trip so I will talk to the head chef to check on what is safe or not. Buffets are usually a no-no for us, so fingers crossed!
