  1. I forgot to pack my kids swimming googles. Apparently they can't figure out how to swim without them and the ship didn't stock them. I finally found some in a small drugstore in Freeport. Then I found the Brewery and this stuff. 25fa55ba81a29abb1a3af2af0a001be2.jpg

If you tour the brewery. Get this. It's yummy. I had to ration it since it's not sold in the states.

Next time I travel to Freeport I will take a small foldable cart with wheels so I can bring more home.

Oh and chap stick! Had to pay a small fortune because my lips hurt!

  2. We are cruising in April with my elderly mother. We would like to see some of the Mayan Ruins. She is able to walk but a long distance hike would not do. I know many ruins sites require about a Mile hike and I know she will be unable to do this. I have not been able to find a clear answer if the tour busses drop you close to the site or if there is a long walk? We are also in Cozumel, and Costa Maya so if anyone knows of any other sites that are walking friendly I'd appreciate the suggestions.

We are also aware that she will not be able to climb the structures which she is fine with.

    Thanks!

  3. We like the cheers program and figure it's a break even for us. Love having the freedom to choose top shelf. I normally would be too cheap to order a glass of wine at $11.50 per glass. With the cheers program, I might have 3 or 4 of them in the evening. Yummy!

Can anyone clarify what size water bottles are included? Last time we got the wrong ones and we were charged.

Pretty sure just the small bottles are included.

That's the main reason I like it too! It turns off the how much are you spending voice in my head and let's me relax and order that second cup of coffee and have the extra drink.

  4. I think they charge around $5 per drink for n/a frozen drinks but the carnival program is a strict "no sharing policy". I have always purchased the bubbles for my kids but unfortunately that doesn't include n/a frozen drinks.

The n/a drinks don't count towards the 15 daily limits so maybe some parents have ordered for kids from a far away bar...

  5. Get a doctor to write a note stating he can't have alcohol due to a liver condition and they'll waive the requirement.

Thanks for the suggestion. I still think it's a shame that they would essentially "force" the purchase or make a doctor lie for you. My hubs has been sober for 8 years. I don't drink much normally but on a cruise I like my frozen drinks and I like the gourmet coffee and water so I do save money on the cheers program even though I've rarely made it to the 15. He'd get the bubbles package but won't touch alcohol anymore.

  6. Each adult assigned to the same cabin must purchase the package.

This is the one rule I never understood. I get they don't want one person sharing but there's many folks in the same boat (no pun intended [emoji23]). my hubs does not drink either. I'm trying to convince him to take his first cruise next January (I usually cruise with other family) and if we do, Carnival won't be getting my guaranteed up front payment since I won't pay for him to have it too.

  7. We're on the same cruise as you are.

I doubt this will work well. I highly suspect that you will need data for this to work.

RC's plan is 12.99/day for the surf and stream. No option for the lower surf plan. That's only for 1 device though.

Though, if you had access to data, you could use a much less complicated method to stay in touch. You would need to have multiple devices connected and if you did, you could text one another through that data plan. What might work for you is for you to have 2 or 3 devices and just not split up in more than 3 groups. You can than text one another (if you have an iphone, imessage will work through the wi-fi), or use google talk, or FB messenger to text. My friend and I kept in touch with one another on the Anthem using FB messenger because we both had a data package.

Thank you for the info! I have a teen, a pre-teen, and an elderly in the beginning stages of cognitive memory/Alzheimers. The teen and Pre teen we can manage with message boards on doors etc. the Elderly tends to get turned around on the ships and while not a danger just gets very frustrated and scared when she gets turned around. We thought she was in the casino on a prior cruise and she was really wander up and down halls trying every door with her card for 2 hours. We typically cruise Carnival that has a $25 per cruise per device for social media access that works well. I'm just disappointed that RCL doesn't have something similar so we can stay in touch and not spend more in wifi charges than we did for the cruise! (Ok a bit of an over exaggeration but it feels like it). [emoji6]

  8. This may be a stupid question but does water count toward your 15 limit?

    Not a stupid question☺

Non alcoholic drinks do not count towards your limit. You get unlimited specialty coffee, water (the small bottles, they will charge for the large ones) power aid, monster drinks, n/a frozen drinks, sodas

the fifteen limit only applies to drinks with alcohol
