It was a nice, comfortable, hotel. Pretty good restaurant across the street. I had an easy time walking to several interesting places, including a three level shopping area with a McDonalds.

my Porto, Part 2

I have mentioned a couple of time that I took a 14 day land trip between two cruises a few years ago. Porto was one of the places I stayed for a short 3 days. I wish it had been more. The first two pictures are of the area around my hotel, then the hotel itself. The rest are around Porto, many from the HoHo bus.

guarantee cabins are normally assigned 10 - 14 days before the cruise. You could get an assignment in that time frame, then another one at the pier which would be an upgrade. If you wish, normally you can request a specific cabin by paying a higher price.

I think that this was just poorly worded. The proof of ownership has to be no more that six months old, not something that shows you have owned the stock for more than six months.

There are various lists online that show what 'day' it is. I suppose anyone could say today we should celebrate 'red headed left handed people' and start publishing it and eventually it would end up on one of the lists. Since I was in Atlanta for High School I visited the Varsity many times. In those days they actually had car hops that put their card on your car as you drove in, then came and took your order and brought it to you. The comedian Nipsy Russell was a Varsity Car Hop for a while. It was quite common to stop at the Varsity on Friday Nights after a football game. The North Ave trade school is just across the downtown connector and provides a huge number of customers, particularly on Saturday game days. There is a tunnel under the downtown connector from the Varsity to the school campus.

I agree with this. I posted about the thread dropping to the second page for a couple of reasons. First, was just to get it back on the first page. Second, to remind people to look on the second page if they don't see it. And third, to encourage posts to keep it on the first page. what cabin number and what ship?

If you booked the cruise as a guarantee and no one requested the HC cabin you could have been assigned the cabin. You don't mention how far out the cruise is, but guarantees are generally filled between 10 days and 2 weeks before the cruise. If you don't want the cabin, you might be able to call your booking agent (Travel agent if used, HAL if not) and get put back into guarantee status to be assigned another cabin.
