  1. There are still people stuck on ships off coast off Florida.  I do not get it.  Mostly Africans.    At least on RCC.   And I heard they are charging the crew for food.   These people probably have no money to being with, work on cruises for their livelihood and then forced to give all their money to the major cruise lines who will likely get handouts from governments

yesterday at Coco Cay Explorer and Anthem ‘traded’ crew then Navigator arrived and they swapped more crew . They are waiting on the rest of the fleet including from Celebrity to have all the relevant nationalities on individual ships to start the repatriation sailings. One ship is going to Barbados to off load crew who are picking up charter flights. Anthem is going to sail to India , one ship is coming to Southampton etc etc etc .
One logistical nightmare getting each crew nationality on the correct ship but all done with professionalism and aplomb

Is this not the most mind boggling, thing one could ever imagine happening?

  3. NCL is showing $99 for 5 days Bahamas out of Miami for next week in search results, crazy if its real

Looking in December though so Sail Aways are still good $200-300 on Pearl (Mia) or Sun (Orl) (or Sky to Bahamas)

Problem is they get you with not including any promos, you want the promos, a few hundred more

I feel they are also misleading, even on more expensive cruise , where it shows the green bar for take two free offers on studios, once you click its only one free offer

I would encourage you to remove your email address as soon as you can, or alter it to remove the @ sign and replace with 'at' .  Spambots love to troll on line forums to collect and spam people who post valid email addresses.  People have different comfort zones as to how to deal with spam or letting the world know your email address, but I wanted to just forewarn you of the hazards.  Cruise Critic hasn't activated its private message function, which is a shame. That would allow people to communicate behind the scenes securely an anonymously.

At the very least, when/if Nancy gets in touch,  try to delete your email.

I would also advise for you to remove their email address from your quoted reply :classic_biggrin:

A suggestion to the one a little uneasy going from airport to hotel to cruise port alone. I just downloaded the app on my phone called Noonlight. Once you put your finger on the button it’s tracking you in real time by gps. If you take your finger off you have 10 seconds to enter your code if you don’t need help. If you don’t enter the code the police and your emergency contact is called. Sounds good to me.

Wow, what if your battery goes dead....

What country again is this uneasiness taking place in?

  6. It could be a considerable difference at $22 per day.    Parking off site in an indoor lot with an established company will cost at least half that.   I do understand the convenience of not needing a shuttle.

Fortunately for me I can take Uber which will cost $30-$40 each way and my car will remain home, saving gas and being dropped off at the entrance to the port.

Drinks average about $10/ea (not including tips).  Likely a bit more.  So, if you’re saying you’ll drink only 3 drinks during the entire cruise, then it’s not worth it.  If you’re saying you will drink 3 drinks/day, then yes...the drink package is worth it.

It has to be worth $150.  ($50 value of excursion credit  + gratuity) Are drinks like jack/coke $10 ?  I remember them being less but I have not been on a cruise in years without the package - so I guess if I do spend $30 a day , its a breakeven.  I could also use my rum runners to offset the cost but thats inconvenient. I probably will anyway just to have some alcohol in my room. The drink package includes fountain soda but not bottled water, right? If it included bottled water , that would be a no brainer

  8. About to book a solo cabin with one free offer on a 5 day.   The drink package adds $99 gratuities so it makes me think twice as I am not a day drinker and do not want to get sloshed every night.    I will probably have 3 drinks, so not sure average price of drinks but I was also thinking of doing the wifi package.   Is it worth the $50 excursion  or drinks and the gratuity cost ???

The problem is that when you select a balcony cabin without entering a C&A number it comes up with a BW balcony at $1499pp but this is not available.  An Oceanview Balcony is also listed at $1679pp.

when I put in my C&A number the BW does not show up but the Oceanview Balcony does at $1579pp

the OP was not comparing apples to apples.

I just checked again and seems to come up the same but I ambelieve your explanation as to why I was seeing different prices is correct,  the problem is that right after you enter theC&A number (or leave it blank) and hit continue you see the 4 main category boxes with the prices , so it looked different , which should not be the case, drilling down further of course explains it
