  1. My wife and I are going on our first cruise for our 25th in July as well. We booked through a TA and I cannot modify the comments section either so I just emailed our TA and they updated the info which was visible shortly afterwards.

  2. Welcome and great job Marine 91. 6lbs in a week is pretty impressive!!! What are you doing, exercise or dieting or both? Hope you come back each week and reach your goal....

For meals I do a protein shake for breakfast, another one for lunch along with a protein bar and then a sensible dinner with trying to keep everything at or below 50g of carbs and 1200 calories a day. I also hit the gym for cardio 5 days a week and weight training on 2 of the 5 days with various other exercises I do at home during lunch a few days a week (I work from home). We do cheat on Friday nights with some of our favorite foods, but made in a healthier way. I also take CLA and L-Caritine as supplements, but I think the biggest thing that has helped is we have only eaten out once since the beginning of the year.

  3. New guy to the party here. Been working on my journey for the past few years with mixed results and a lot of me being complacent thinking i got this so i stopped using the tools that were helping along the way. Since the beginning of the year I rededicated myself to reaching a specific goal before our July cruise. I typically weight in on Fridays and was down 6 lbs last week for a total of 44 down for the year and 98 in total since I started 2 years ago. Only 22 lbs more to reach the goal I set for the cruise but I am hoping to surpass it on my way to my final end goal.

  4. My wife is part of the invisible disability group. She has an L3 to L5 spinal fusion and a spinal cord stimulator implanted in her back to help with nerve damage she received from a car accident several years ago. She has good days where she can climb one or two flights of stairs and bad days where she has to use a cane or a wheelchair. We have seen the looks and heard many comments over the years but whenever we see someone on a scooter or a wheelchair our mindset is that they get on first if we are waiting for an elevator as there will always be another one.

  5. You'll get a lot of answers on this board. Sometimes TOO many answers! LOL!!

Don't worry about looking like a noob, either. We were all noobs once, and there will be a bunch of noobs on any cruise you take. I think it's much better being a noob than a schmuck, which you'll also see on board. :p

Just get on board and enjoy yourself - that's what it's all about!! Oh, and congrats on 25!

Thank you very much. My partner in crime has been on the fence for many years about taking a cruise.

Now comes the worse part. The wait. :)

Welcome to the forums. If you haven't already, go to the Roll Calls section, find your cruise, and post or subscribe to the thread.

It is crazy. After booking it was like... Ok we only have 282 days to get everything in order. lol

  6. Hello all.... First timer here. I have been stalking the site for the last few days and it has been a tremendous help as I just booked our first cruise for our 25th anniversary next July last night. Been talking about doing it for years but never pulled the trigger. Still can't believe we did it and we are beyond excited and I am looking forward to continuing to educate myself so I don't wind up being the noob you can see from 10 miles away.....
