  1. There was a similar post to this one yesterday, but it has been deleted ... hmmm...

But I asked the question yesterday about HDMI ports on the TV. Does anyone know if they work? I have a firewire to HDMI adapter that could be used to play downloaded Netflix to a TV... if the HDMI ports work.

Not that I am a TV hound, we spend very little time in our cabin anyway, but we like to watch TV just before bed, and on our last cruise and the only thing to watch was something about a tattoo shop, I think.

  2. Thanks for your reply. So you were post drydock where the negative reviews seemed to pile up... no issues with public spaces? How was the entertainment? Does Victory have a piano bar? Thanks again!!

Yes, we were on the second sailing out of dry dock. We did not see any construction going on at all really. Just typical maintenance. Unfortunately, I can’t comment on the entertainment... we spend a lot of time in the casino. I don’t remember seeing a piano bar. The public spaces were definitely more crowded than on other Carnival ships we’ve been on, but it was manageable. Except for the one sea day that was difficult to find a lounger, I didn’t see any crowding issues like long lines for the Buffet or whatever... I saw the negative reviews before we booked the Victory, too, but I didn’t really see too many things that were unusually annoying...and I have very little patience!

  3. We were on the Victory two weeks ago and had Cabin 6432, one of the L-shaped balcony cabins. It was very nice, but we had some plumbing problems, that were efficiently managed by customer service. In my opinion, there is not much special going on on the Victory. Be careful with the Cheers packages, unless you are heavy drinkers, and staying on the ship while in port. It might be hard to drink your money’s worth. Guys burgers was a great addition. The main deck gets crowded fast. Get there early on sea days to get a lounge chair. Besides that, just have a great time!

  4. We are so addicted. Took our first cruise in February 2016, and will be on our 5th at the end of this month, with a Mediterranean Horizon trip booked in April...and we just booked our 1st NCL cruise for September...

  5. Will be on Magic in December. We were thinking about the FTTF so we can bypass the people. However, it's about $80 USD per cabin (and there are two cabins in my party) and the fact that I need to the exchange back to CDN, that's about $100 (or more) in CDN!

In my opinion, FTTF is still worth the money!

  6. Not picky on location - can sleep anywhere - it was for the extra balcony room.

I would not give up the L room for a guarantee... I’m sure it will get snapped up by someone else....

  7. Has anyone stayed in one of these? 4j obstructed View interior at the front of the ship? We usually stay in an ocean view but these were available and a little less expensive. I’m always up for an adventure...

  8. We just got back from Cuba and we had the Top 10 tour. First, let me say it does take some time to get off the ship in Havana. We were told to meet in the Dining Room at 12 noon and did not get called to get off the ship until almost 12:45 pm. By the time we got through customs it was 1:15 and on the bus at 1:30 pm. We saw the Christ Statue, the Fort, where we walked around for 30 minutes, the capital building, the revolution square, the cemetery and drove by lots of other sites, ending at a flea market for an hour, where we were told we could buy cigars and liquor. The cigar shop was a tiny “stall” with one person working the counter. We stood inline for 45 minutes and they did not even have the cigars we wanted. By the time we got back to the ship, the State cigar shops were all closed. They close at 6 pm, by the way! The tour guide was a great, but the fact that we did not have time to buy cigars was very disappointing.
