  1. I too have posted this info before. but want to warn you about 2 ferry terminals in naples. we took the slow ferry from naples to capri. was right next to the ship and was just about to leave so we hopped on it. took the faster ferry back. it docked at another place a couple miles down the beach. could not see our ship and no cabs around. couple mile walk so not a big deal but had we been pressed for time it might have been an issue.

blue grotto always has long lines for viewing. sit in a small row boat to see blue water. cool but emperors villa was more interesting to me.

    have fun

  2. While the Royal cruise departs from Boston and goes to: Portland, Maine; Bar Harbor, Maine; Saint John, New Brunswick; Halifax, Nova Scotia.

You can book on your own. We never book ships tours unless there is a chance of the tour being late. Ship will wait for their tours but not others.

We did same as the Royal itinerary.

Boston has a great walk. Forget the name of it. Does the common and historical places.

Portland Maine has the most photographic light house in the world. We did a bus tour but forget the name of the company. Booked after we got off the ship.

Bar Harbor we did Oli's trolley. Short walk into town. google it for directions. I think you can even book online in advance. Great views on this tour.

Not much in St John. There is a reversing falls which might be of interest to you. We just walked into town.

Halifax has the citadel. We walked but think there is a shuttle. Also nice harbor walk. Halifax is also where the titanic victims were buried.

  3. for cruise booked passengers they pick you up alongside the ship...if you book on your own..you have to walk a few hundred feet into town...we did this and it was fine...but afterwards thought it might be better to take the bus..more comfortable and easier to take pictures of the train
