  1. Hi,

I am new to NCL but have often cruised with other lines.

What can I expect on an Epic 3 or 4 night cruise in March?

-Will there be a young spring break type crowd?

-Is there a difference between the two main dining rooms? Do the menus change?

-Any recommendations for breakfast and lunch?

-What kind of entertainment can I expect on a shorter cruise?

    -Is there a comedy show?

-What kind of live music is there on the Epic?

    Thank you very much.

  2. If I buy onboard credit with a different credit card than what I use for my onboard account, if I have leftover onboard credit from what I purchased, will it go back to the card I purchased it with or to the card linked to my onboard account?

    Thank you very much.

  3. Hello,

I made my final payment one day before the offer came available.

Is there any chance I can purchase an onboard credit? I do not plan to spend $500 in an onboard credit but does anyone know if unused portions of self-purchased onboard credits are redeemable for cash or a credit back to my creidit card linked to my onboard account? I know travel agent credits are not redeemable but other cruise lines allow self-purchased credits to be redeemed for cash.

What is the easiest way to purchase an onboard credit to be linked to my account?

    Thank you very much.

  4. Hello,

If I buy an onboard credit and do not use it all, can I redeem it for cash? I know travel agent onboard credits cannot be redeemed, but can leftovers from a self-purchased onboard credit be redeemed for cash or a credit card statement credit?

What is the best way to purchase an onboard credit?

  5. Thank you for everyone's input so far.

I should have waited to book since they were willing to extend my hold but told me there was no need to extend the hold as the charge would not hit my credit card until after the promotion began. They said to avoid calling back in and extending it I might as well go ahead and book due to the delay in payment processing.

  6. Because I didn't want to lose the rate or cabin. I would have asked to speak to a manager to extend the hold had I not been told the payment wouldn't be processed until the next day. Would have been easy to have it further extended which I would have done had it not been for the payment processing information.

  7. Hi all,

In anticipation of a credit card offer (spend $500+ get $100 credit card statement credit), I decided to book a cruise with NCL (typically cruise RCL).

NCL advised me that there's no point to extend the hold since the payment wouldn't be processed until the next day (I booked at 9pm and the promotion with my credit card company started at 12am).

It turns out that the charge was processed immediately. Had I known this, I would have extended the hold 12 hours to make my final payment the following day once the promotion begun. Since the sailing it less than a month away, I cannot cancel and rebook.

All I need to happen is for the charge to be remade at any point after the promotion began. Is there any department at NCL I can speak with to explain the reason for booking and misinformation I relied on? I'm hoping the charge can be rescinded and remade for the same exact amount of money.

    Thank you very much.

  8. Does anyone have additional insight (or know if there's a way to tell) if I'll have spring breakers and others in their low 20's aboard the Epic on either March 4 or 8th for the 4 or 3 night sailing?

Rather do the Epic than the Sky if I'll have others around the same age. Thank you.

  9. Hello,

I am looking to book a cruise and am looking for a large 20-25 year old demographic. I usually cruise with Royal Caribbean, but the Brillience, Independence, Majesty and Empress are sold out between March 4 and 12th.

I haven't sailed NCL in awhile but am wondering if anyone who has cruised RCL has sailed NCL and if you think these ships will also get a spring break type crowd?

I know March 6 and March 10 NCL sky sailings have very large college spring break groups booked. Is there a way to tell if I'll have a large showing within this age group on the NCL Epic 4 night 4th sailing or 3 night 8th sailing? I know the Sky is known for the younger crowd, so I'm wondering if college students or others in this 20-25 year old demographic may not know to book the Epic or may not do so due to it sailing from Port Canaveral.

NCL did say all of the above sailings have less than 10 cabins left, but not sure if most sailings are sold out a month early, regardless of spring break.

Just trying to think of backup options if these RCL sold out sailings do not become available

    Thank you.

  11. Hope you are having a great cruise!

    A few questions:

-How has traditional dining been on the Anthem? How is the food variety?

-How is lunch in the dining room on sea days?

-How has the entertainment been? Are there options to choose from, even for those with late seating? Had heard there were limited options from some November cruisers.

    -Are there multiple indoor hottubs?

    Thanks!

  12. Hi,

I am getting very concerned about an upcoming December Anthem cruise.

We booked because of the extensive entertainment and live music offerings. It has been very concerning reading about the drastic cuts to the live music, ranging from variety to amount to quality.

From recent cruisers, we have read:

-Minimal live music (and entertainment in general minus a dj) following late seating dinner

-Minimal to live music at Music Hall, a venue originally designed to highlight Royal Caribbean's dedication to live music through a rotating variety throughout the course of a cruise.

-No tribute bands for the remainder of 2016 until the beginning of 2017. We booked awhile ago when tribute bands and live music was heavily advertised. Unfortunate that these would be cut for sold-out holiday sailings and that they can't be brought back one or two weeks earlier.

-Karaoke and a dj in music hall most/all nights opposed to having bands play and having a dj elsewhere

Some recent cruisers have noted:We were just on the Nov 27th 12 day sailing.

"We were also on the Anthem inaugural sailing last Nov and loved it so much we booked while onboard. The difference between then and now was night and day. RCI has penny pinched this ship so much it was painful to witness. If you have never been on another sailing maybe the entertainment was fine, but like the food it is totally subjective. The music hall was a joke, Recorded ballroom music, a lady playing guitar alone with no vocals at prime time. Karaoke, And the poor poor band that played most of the other times were worse than the karaoke. Only night we found it full was when Savannah Jack played. Last night comedy act was pitiful and i have never experienced so many people get up and leave during the show."

    A current cruiser has noted:

"Yes, there have been cuts to the entertainment. I am on board now. The first night was karaoke in the Music Hall and the second night was a DJ that had music for the younger crowd. Tonight it is the DJ in the Music Hall at 11:00.

Would like to go into a cruise with an open mind. Just disappointing Royal Caribbean isn't listening to the noticeable cuts impacting some experience and that it can't be rectified prior to the remaining December sailings.

If by chance anyone is currently onboard - is there any way to address these concerns with ship management (cruise director and/or hotel director)?

    Thank you.

  13. I'm spending my money yet complaining because RCCL has drastically cut the experience that I spent my money on. I had hesitations on cruising with Royal Caribbean but was sold on the vastly different experience we could expect on Anthem from dining to ample live music and varied entertainment, not the same as other ships but less.

If I didn't budget properly and was over-budget and had to cut like RCCL, I wouldn't be able to afford a premium-priced holiday cruise. So we shouldn't be the ones to suffer from their insufficient budget.

  14. Was told the other nights are: 3 production shows (1 in 270). 3 nights of no entertainment (2 originally had a comedian and a Journey tribute band).

Why should some of the highest priced holidayc cruises be the ones to suffer from a budget cut? If anything, these cruises should have the same or additional entertainment than the significantly cheaper cruises, not less due to it being the last couple weeks of the year with cheaper-priced cruises having used up budgets resulting in the company saving a few thoustand dollars (probably the equivilant of two cruisers on a holiday sailing) for a few less musicians and fly-on acts.

  15. There are still 3 weeks. We were told the tribute bands were cut due to budgeting (upsetting to hear when these were advertised and we are paying over $6,000 for 2 people for a holiday sailing).

How hard can it be to find another comedian? And to cancel 2 full acts plus the tribute band, I'd understand if it was the week of, but these were eliminated over a month out. Also - the cuts in live music aren't just for our sailing, they've already been reported for the past few.
