What type of place do you want in terms of food and ambience? Also, how long do you want to “post up?”
Close...convenient...casual...fun...music...yummy food...good drinks...nothing fancy...itll just be a group of middle aged ladies...TIA

I never have room for dessert after all of the wonderful food, I get the sorbet. I figure a lil more liquid in my stomach will fit 😉
Oh but that cheesecake on your balcony at midnight taste SO GOOD....you can always get it to go...

The snacks are sandwiches, PB&J and caprese, Cookies, chips and salsa, Cake, and brownies.
Now there is a benefit I see....the chips and salsa....since the Blue Iguana doesn't serve chips and I do not like eating a burrito or tacos without chips and salsa....😀

OP I am going to guess that at your kids ages you'll have trouble dragging them out of their clubs much more then they will want to be in the lounge....the clubs are where most of the fun, activities and other kids will be.

We figured there would be that pizza spot, but I swear someone told me that Carnival has the buffet open at night too.. you can get pizza and burgers, I was like damnnnnn whats what I am talking about lol
It should be fine, just happy to get out 😃 . Thanks again !There is a late-night buffet I believe 11-12:30....I hear its nothing too elaborate but will get the munchies taken care of...there is always room service too!

Yes, I am hoping for a bit of wiggle room at the younger groups as I have an 11-year-old who will be traveling with a bunch of friends who are ALL 12-year old's.... he will only be 2 months off and is big and mature (for an 11-year-old) .... fingers crossed they bump him up.

Someone on CC mentioned that they were still required to "sip and cover" while watching a stand up comic.
I believe this review was on a ship that sailed PRIOR TO 03/01/22.

I do agree there is a lot of tacky on these ships, but I like it...I equate it to Vegas....cheesy, over the top and tacky but in a fun way...would I decorate my house that way, heck no but can I enjoy it for a few days on vacation no problem!

What does that even mean?
I see skiorcruise clarified what I was saying but yes that's exactly it. I like the newer ships / RCL ships that's layout is where there is one central promenade and "most" restaurants, theaters, shops etc are all off that promenade...kind of like a mall feel. The Splendor is not like that, you can need to go up or down a deck to get to most places, it has a cut up feel to me, similar to two different 2000 sqft homes where one has an open layout vs. one having all 9x9 rooms, thought the same size a very different feel.

Bumping because my 11 year old just asked me what movies they will have on the boat...we sail the end of this month...can I assume the same movies all of March? TIA

I’m participating in the Cabin Gift Exchange with our fb group and so lucky that a friend of mine helped me gather everything this week - she’s putting them into cute little gift bags as I type from the salon chair! I can’t remember if I mentioned but I took my son to SoCal from Thursday - Monday so my week started hectic. Unpacking, laundry, repacking, work, getting him set up for while I’m gone… so I’m very grateful for friends like mine!
Here’s what everyone’s getting. I’m from Napa (7th generation in fact!) so I of course wanted to gift a few staples from here.
Soap from the Napa Soap Company, Chardonnay Brittle from a local chocolate shop, wood ornaments with the famous “grape crusher” statue, a variety from a local nut company (everyone will get something different), then New Mexican Red Chile Powder from Rancho Gordo (also local).
Thats fun and sweet! Great goodies....makes me want some wine!

Your other options for Embarkation Lunch would be:
1) Guy's Burgers
2) Blue Iguana Cantina
3) Deli
4) Pizza
5) Chopsticks
and if you want to pay extra:
6) Bonsai Sushi Express
Thank you !

I admit I am one of those who like to get on ship early....we always stay over in a hotel the night prior to works conveniently with check out time in the hotel. Plus, I like to get pics without others in the frame etc...and why the heck not get started early IMO.

Thank you for the photos. We will be cruising on March 11th. My usual go to was Imagination or Inspiration (rest in peace-I'm a local) and looking forward to the Radiance! Just upgraded to a balcony from an interior for cheap. I was surprised.
Are people still wearing a mask? It makes me nervous to go maskless, but I will try.
Masks are no longer REQUIRED but are completely optional, if it makes you nervous feel free to wear one...people can decide for themselves finally.

If one is trying to avoid the buffet for lunch when we board the ship....what are our other options? Guys? Deli? Pizza? Anything else? If its ship specific I am referring to the Miracle. TIA

I think as long as the kids are within 3 rooms away from your room, Carnival is fine with it.
And it cannot be a balcony room at that age group.

best excursion for Adrenaline and beach junkies in Puerto Vallarta & Mazatlan?
in Mexican Riviera
Posted
So my very first time in PV my hubby booked us on the EXTREME ziplining excursion....it wasn't tree to tree it was mountain to mountain up in the Sierra Madre mountains....you even had to get out of the vehicle at one point and get on a donkey because the incline was so extreme a vehicle couldn't take it....along with the ziplining it included repelling down a waterfall too. It was also beautiful and memorable...I highly recommend for any adrenaline junkie.
