  1. I'm looking into an Oceania Baltic Cruise this August, first time O cruiser.

Does anyone have any somewhat recent Currents, preferably for the Nautica?

I'm interested to see what the daily activities onboard are like.

    Thanks so much!

  2. What deck is used for exiting and returning when the ship is in port?

With the ship name and practically every ship having a Bliss nightclub or theater it is hard to do a search.

It will depend on the port but for Alaska it was mostly Deck 4. When embarking and disembarking it was Deck 7. The elevators on the Bliss have a “gangway” button that is automatically programmed with the gangway deck in use that day.

  3. Perhaps NCL should develop a chair hog policy:

1st Offense: Piglet – Verbal Warning

2nd Offense: Pig - Official Written Warning

3rd Offense: Feral Pig– ½ day Ban from Observation lounge

4th Offense: Wild Boar – Full Day Ban from pool deck and observation lounge

5th Offense: Confirmed Chair Hog – Tossed into the Brig for one night

6th Offense: Bacon – Chopped into pieces and served at the buffet

This has officially made my night... :')

  4. You pick up the tubes at the bottom and carry them up the stairs. The water in the water slides are heated (actually quite warm). I did the Aqua Racer a few times in not so warm weather on the 4 day Christening Cruise out of Seattle at the end of May and wasn’t cold at all... They have attendants at both slides if you have any questions...

  5. On the June 2nd cruise, we did use the messaging and thought it worked fine for DW and I. $9.99 per person.

There was a problem, however. The 3rd person in our room (DD) couldn't send/receive messages. She went to the support desk and they acknowledged it was a bug in their software related to the 3rd/4th persons in a room. Without asking, they credited us back the $9.99 each but left it enabled for DW and I. Then later in the week, it magically started working for DD too.

We use the ap mostly for messaging. We communicate on land via messaging, a lot, and we tend to go separate ways on the ship so it's useful and natural for us on ships. I would have no qualms about paying the $9.99 in the future and recommending it to anyone who has the need.

The free part of the ap wasn't bad. I didn't notice problems with the schedule, however, the actual user interface is a bit funky - it took a while to figure out why I wasn't seeing everything in a given day. The schedule also doesn't include the next day's schedule until evening. I didn't see any problem when reviewing my bill. No doubt there is a lot of room for improvement in the ap, but, I found it to be useful.

It is a little frustrating that these apps are built better - they could be so beneficial and the software and infrastructure isn't difficult to implement. I hope they keep working on it.

    THANK YOU!!

This is the info I was looking for... :D

  6. The Bliss uses the new Norwegian App (previously only on the Sky). We did not use the paid features and did not get any feedback on it.

The basic functions was poor. Onboard accounts not accurate. MySchedule not accurate. Onboard activities not accurate. Just poor.

Thanks, that’s what I’ve heard, just trying to find out if the messaging is worth it as we will have a large group of us on our sailing. Rumours are also that it’s $15 to use the messaging through the app, not $10?

  7. Today is Glacier Watching Day. So, we are in port until 1:30, then head out to the glaciers.

BUT,,,,, if you noticed in the Freestyle Daily, we are heading to Endicott Arm and the Dawes Glacier (vs Sawyer Glacier in the itinerary). The captain will also get ice reports from other ships that are doing morning visits to determine how close he will be able to get the ship to the Glacier. (Don’t want to be sucking ice into the brand new bow thrusters on the first trip). Last night the Captain said that he hoped to get within 1/2 of the glacier this afternoon.

Noticed that on the daily... Did they give a reason for the swap? Sounds like other ships had to change to Endicott too...
