Just to let folks know that I signed on to my Seabourn account and it was a new web page design. It had a section for FCC so yea I can finish up my work and get all of this settled
Sadly the FCC page would not open Mac via Chrome but would open with Firefox.
However it did not show my already booked cruise nor my FCC -
If it works different on a PC can someone give it try and let me know or maybe this section still has growing pains. I think that it is a great addition to our Seabourn Club account information - now if it would only work better.
That is progress, but not showing up for me in the UK. 😒

Thank you both (and others that had to listen to me for all this time).
Now I have another question to which I would like to get an honest, unbiased answer.
I cancelled our 30 day cruise on 2/27 - a little before SB did. At that time there were no other options for me but a 100% FCC for the cost of the cruise.
I would have preferred a refund but I understood the terms & the rules and whether I liked them or not, I accepted them.
Since then I received a refund to my CC for excursion (pretty promptly) and finally the taxes and fees to my CC.
They also offered a compensation for air fare changes. I filled out the required form and submitted it. With a minor deduction they accepted my claim of $2,447 ($240 less than what I claimed). That part was OK with me but they are offering that amount in FCC instead of refund to my CC.
In my opinion this is an extra expense more akin to excursions and not really part of a cruise fare. I believe that I should receive that amount refunded to my CC rather than FCC - especially as they had no objection to the amount of my claim.
Am I right or am I off on this? This is not a matter I can dispute with the CC as SB accepted responsibility for that amount but wants to repay in FCC. I think that they are wrong. What say you?
TIA
Hi Paul,
I think that we both claimed on the same day.
We made a claim for unrecoverable hotel bookings as they were non-refundable.
SB offered us Cash or Value + 28 % FCC (which they called 25%) plus $ 250 each on board credit, which we took, as it was by far the best value.
They could/should have done better for you.
Regards,
Kevin

Well, well - after 124 days the missing $360 (difference between $2556 & $2196) has appeared on my credit card as coming from Seabourn after I challenged a prior settlement by CC in favor of SB.
I don't have a formal decision from Citi but the $360 is from SB.
The drama finally ends and justice is served.. Shouldn't have to be that difficult or take as long as it did nor require 2 disputes from the CC company if SB did the right thing from the start.
Paulchili, so glad that you finally got your Refund. 🍾
PS. I finally got refunded by Singapore Air, & IHG Hotels said that my refund would take 90 working days. It seems like they are all dragging it out to help cashflow 😒

Good news! Received my refund of 13K this am from Seabourn. Included air with flight ease.
7/18/20 cruise.
I cancelled 4/3/20. Before they did on May 6.
Incurred 15% penalty of $1900. Will be a FCC. No communication on that yet.
Transaction date of 6/4/20. Posted 6/8/20.
2 emails to TA.
2 emails to Seabourn.
1 email to TA company owner.
All email responses were cordial and said to just wait.
66 days to post. 62 days to when Seabourn processed it.
Credit card is Chase Sapphire Reserve.
Hated losing all those points, but feel OK with the process and will book a future Seabourn cruise.
We are very happy for you!

That's always been the case, at least since we've been sailing with Seabourn. Same goes with any travel agent discounts you might get.
Thanks Zelker. We have only been on two Seabourn Cruises so far, so a lot of this is new to us.
On a brighter note, we have just booked Norway & The Baltic for July 2021 (instead of rebooking Sydney to Singapore, as less risk for us).

4 Weeks after our Refund came through to CCs, our TA finally got approval of our FCCs.
You will be disappointed to note that the FCCs are not worth their value, as TA Commission has already been paid, meaning that TA Prices are not as low as expected (checked with 2 major Cruise Specialists).
We got £ 2,581 Price Reduction, for a £ 2,900 FCC, an 11% hit, so, our total FCCs of £ 7,686 became worth £ 6,840.
Also, we were not aware that the FCD of 5% reduction only applies to the Cruise Fare, AFTER Taxes, Fees & Port Expenses.
Nett result: Paying £ 2,500 more than anticipated......about the same as the profit so far on my Carnival Shares 🤣.

That is correct. But I don't think a "FCC coming" can be used for anything. The credit has to have been applied to your Seabourn account, presumably by the same person who processes the cash refund. Because Seabourn's online system for club members is so prehistoric, it is not possible for the member to see the FCDs and FCCs on their account, that is limited to TAs and Seabourn Cruise Counsellors. I have asked my PCC (I am a direct booker) to let me know what FCDs have reappeared and what FCCs have appeared on my account as a result of the cash refunds, if any. I will report back.
This is true!
We had our Refund 3 weeks ago and our FCC for Hotel reimbursement 4 weeks ago. BUT, we still have not got the £ 4,500 FCCs from the cruise showing on the Account and Seabourn will not let us book until we have it!. We have had a Suite on Reserve for three weeks so far. Hopefully it will come through soon.
Our TA have been chasing SB regularly, without success.

Interesting one, this.
Our 22nd March Seabourn Encore Cruise from Sydney to Singapore.
As this one was cancelled 'at short notice' (Seabourn's words, not mine), we were offered a 100 % Refund PLUS 25 % Future Cruise Credit.
The Refund came through about 10 days ago, BUT the FCC's are still being worked on, as SB say that it is very complicated to work out and apply the FCCs in this case - despite them confirming the amount about 60 days ago.
This is annoying, as we want to book another cruise with them, but we need SB to apply the FCCs to our Account first.
Incidentally, the FCC agreed for our Hotel etc. reimbursement was showing on our account over a week ago.
Can't wait to book with them again, despite all these issues with refunds.

It was a multi-trip worldwide package through my Lloyds Bank Gold current account, with AXA insurance. I have to say that every interaction with them was helpful, supportive, clearly explained, and professionaly executed and we recovered c.£6,000 worth of costs, less £80 excess, within 3 weeks of submitting all the paperwork.
I'm not a great fan of my bank, and have no interest in boosting them, in fact I would have switched banks a long time ago if not for the comprehensive travel insurance package, which is really good vfm. This was our first claim and only claim in 20 years. I expect they will drop it as soon as they can.
We have Travel Insurance supplied by Barclays, as part of our Premier Banking Account. But, as we were away for 43 days, we had to take out another (Worldwide Annual Multitrip) Policy with Staysure for £ 314.
However, I had arranged for it to start the day before our flight, so then we were not covered, as our trip was cancelled before the Insurance started. We did manage to get a refund on the Insurance though, and all other costs are/will be refunded (eventually).
Thank you for the information, it may be useful for nest time 🙂

So, SB re-jigged the itinerary to such an extent that it was no longer recognisable as the cruise we had booked, and offered a FCC if we did not want to continue. Under UK consumer law one is entitled to a refund if the product is different to the one ordered ( or booked). I asked our TA ( the famous one nobody is allowed to mention by name) to point this out to SB and ask them if they would consider offering a refund, which they agreed to do. So the cruise was cancelled, I think technically by SB.
We got all our cruise money back plus $50 for an in-suite bouquet. Our travel insurance company was great, and they refunded all flights, non-refundable hotel bookings and so forth. We were lucky as they did not have a pandemic/epidemic exclusion ( I bet they do now!). The only thing we lost out on was some Air Miles used to book a mid-cruise hotel. SB cancelled the cruise completely a couple of weeks later in any case, but we would have been arriving in Singapore on the day it was confirmed, so I guess that was a lucky escape.
Hi,
Are you allowed to mention who your Travel Insurance Company was?

Just to clarify.
The money appeared on the Credit Cards only this morning, but the Transaction Date on the CC App says that the refund was made on the 8th May. I check morning and evening, but the refund was not there last night.
Seabourn said nothing, no e-mail or anything.

Brilliant news. So that was around 75 days as opposed to 60 quoted by Seabourn. Even so it gives us all some confidence that we will eventually receive something.
Was this through your UK travel agent or direct from Seabourn? Can I ask what your ‘Change Fee Claim’ was for?Seabourn told my TA that Refunds are due 'within 60 days of when Seabourn cancel the cruise', so it was actually on Day 59, even though we cancelled earlier.
We used Seabourn's largest UK Agent. But I have been told off by the moderators for mentioning their name previously.
My Change Fee Claim was for non-refundable hotels booked and short refund on Travel Insurance taken out for this cruise, just over £ 2,000 in total.
Singapore Airlines agreed eventually (initially denied and offered flight credit, but they raised $ 20 BILLION) to refund £ 8,000 + Business Class AirFare 'within 16 weeks'. -

Great News!
This morning, my £ 19,000 arrived on my Credit Cards, with a processing date of 8th May, which was Day 59 from when Seabourn Officially cancelled our Cruise.
Coincidentally (?), Seabourn agreed our Change Fee Claim on the 6th May, even though we only submitted it on the 11th April. We took the enhanced FCC for this, as, even though they said + 25%, it was + 28% & 2 x $ 250 On Board Credit.
So, it looks like they are sticking to their targets.
Good Luck to everyone!

Scheduled Sailing: Seabourn Encore 22nd March 2020 for 26 nights @ £ 18,888.36
We cancelled: 27th February, 2020
Seabourn Cancelled: 9th March, 2020
1st Promised Refund: 14 Working Days
2nd Promised Refund: 60 Days from when Seabourn Cancelled = 9th May, 2020 (Seabourn specified the date).
Today is Day 61, no refund & no FCC showing on their system.
Even though it was us who cancelled, it was because Seabourn had to significantly modify our itinerary and gave us the option of a refund. Their e-mail of 9th March offered us 100 % Refund PLUS 25 % FCC, which we accepted.
Like others, we will not rebook until we have the refund.

on a side note, I just received word from Allianz that my trip insurance premium was fully refunded. If you had insurance, check to see if you are eligible for a refund.
I claimed a refund from my Insurance Company (£313.96), as I had arranged for it to start just before my flight.
It was initially refused, as I had bought it in December, to start in March. After saying that I was going to refer it to the Insurance Ombudsman in the UK, it was escalated and a refund agreed two days alter, minus £ 30 Admin Fee.
Seabourn have accepted my claim for the deducted amount.

Many thanks for your comprehensive review, Kate.
We shall be on the S. S. Beatrice in May, from Budapest to Bucharest.
We did Vilshofen to Budapest 18 months ago with Crystal, and have done various River (and Ocean) cruises with Viking. We are very happy with Viking, more so with Crystal, but wanted to see how Uniworld is.
Your report is most helpful to us.
