  1. I've read about this. But isn't it much easier to use one of those wearable glucose monitors that notifies your phone app?
  2. Which ship? On E-class in the Eden area aft, there is a lunch place. I think it is open on embarkation day. Or the Ocean View Cafe. If you are in a suite, Luminae. The Mast or Pool Grill serves burgers and hot dogs. The burgers are mediocre (IMO) but some love them. Not the same quality as Guy's Burgers on Carnival.
  3. Bermuda cruises have always been this way by my memory. Bermuda shorts allowed.
  4. Hello @Definitas and thank you for your long(er) post sharing many thoughts. IMO Celebrity was a step above some of the other mass market cruise lines in the past. But for decades it has been a mass market line with large ships. Not luxury. And not even sure what Premium is these days. Most mass market lines and ships have premium areas like the Retreat and the Yacht Club. You pay extra for these areas by choice and it is a purchasing decision. The remainder of the ship is not really above and beyond but still a nice vacation product. Maybe way back (early 90's) when Celebrity (X) was still Chandris it was different. Now it is a line in the RCG corporation and it has prices that are higher than much of its competition. But not really much else of a distinction.
  5. Service Animals only, according to Celebrity. https://www.celebritycruises.com/special-needs/service-animals
  6. The halibut in Luminae. Not sure if it is in any specialty restaurants.
  7. I like FLL better to but it can be a problem when a lot of cruise ships return like on Sat or Sun and you have a later flight. Often they will not let you wait at the airport unless it is 3 hours or less before your flight. Due to excessive crowding. Not an issue with Miami generally.
  8. @DaKahuna I know you are aware of this but possibly some others are not. The Retreat Concierges can do everything that you need to be done from Guest Services. With no lines! Except deal with cash. Use them even for Shore Excursions. Dinner Reservations. Onboard Account issues. Setting up personal appointments with Future Cruise reps in the Retreat. etc. Many suite cruisers only use them to walk down and avoid lines. But they are very helpful in many other ways too.
  9. Until fairly recently Celebrity included "perks" Gratuities, WiFi, Premium Bev Package plus OBC if you booked the Retreat/Suite. So yes you can say it was part of the fare. Now just WiFi and Bev included with non premium suites (SS and CS). Even back in those days as now we tipped the Butler at the end of the cruise (as most people here on CC have reported). Amount depended on the level we used them. Same for the Retreat concierge. We would leave "group" tips to be shared by the Team in Luminae and in the Retreat Lounge. You of course can do anything you want tip-wise. We tip extra for excellent service but of course that is a subjective decision by most people.
  10. There is growing momentum in the US Congress for considering a national legalization of marijuana as many states have already enacted. Even if that passes in one form or another, cruising and using in other countries will still be the issue.
  11. Well somebody must be paying these prices! The very expensive suites on most cruise lines are always booked.
  12. Nearly a thousand locations including some in Alabama now too. It is a PA & NJ iconic landmark!
  13. By the 1920s, people were using “baloney” as a slang term, something large and maybe clumsy as in galoot and palooka, and something false: that's pure horse puckey. As for the sausage, both baloney and bologna are accepted spellings. Oscar Mayer was happy to pronounce it bologna. Copyright 2024 Nexstar Media Inc.Sep 19, 2024
  14. Is there some random connection (pardon the pun) between USB chargers and tumblers?
  15. I find that people like me get old and boring, not cruise ships!😉
  16. The smoking casino should be the smaller one and the non-smoking casino the larger one. Royal has it bass ackwards on Oasis class ships.
  17. If Celebrity is mostly adults and Royal is families with kids, how doe that coincide with smoking policies?
  18. Yeah I've read similar things but how do you prove that connection? I've seen plenty of serious gamblers at casinos (land or sea) not smoking. Honestly I've seen a lot of smokers in Royal's casinos playing penny slots vs being at the tables.
  19. There was definitely smoking in the main casino on our recent Symphony cruise. Yes there was also a small separate smoke-free casino as you describe. It seems to me that the large casino should be smoke free and the small separate casino for smokers. Wouldn't that make more sense since the vast majority on ship are non-smokers? Anyway my vote for Royal would be to adopt the Celebrity smoke-free policy. It is time.
  20. Thanks! We will be on Indy (our 3rd time) in spring 2025.
  21. I think they are scheduled for a shut down and maintenance tonight to fix this issue. Thanks for all the great pics and reporting!
  22. Yes I do like the forward view and the Sky Lounge and I prefer M-Class and S-Class ships. I only sailed E-Class once and it was a one and done. I will say that E-Class has a superior aft view in the Eden area. But I have many many other choices and have not been a Celebrity-exclusive cruiser for the last several years. And I have discovered plenty of vacation choices besides cruising too. This has nothing to do with any perceived Celebrity class system which is primarily in the mind of the beholder. Who cares how other people choose to spend their time and money? Not me.
  23. Again all brand new members in the exact same thread talking about major plumbing issues on Royal. You are responding to AI. The mods should do something here IMO. Unfortunately the direction of things these days. Easy to be fooled.
