  1. Wow. What an amazing cruise. Don't know where to begin. Awesome ship. Awesome crew. Weather was great (except for Thursday). Great food. Impressed with room. All around great week. Impressed with NCL and the Breakaway. 5/5 stars!

Still debating if I should write up a little review but I will answer any questions y'all have. Reply and I will do my best. Thanks!

We had a great time also, did not make the M&G but had a great time with great people.

  2. I'm not totally convinced that latitudes points / cruise history doesn't have an impact. Just not in the way you'd think.

When we were on the Breakaway TA, there were a lot of reports of people getting upgrades. I did a small amount of very unscientific research, and did notice some possible correlation.

Remember, this was a very small sample, related to upgrades rather than guarantee allocations and may have been pure coincidence.

What seemed to possibly be happening is that the people who were being upgraded were those who had cruised with NCL before, but not often (this was their second or third cruise). Those with lots of cruises behind them, or future ones booked didn't seem to have as much luck.

For example, it was only third NCL cruise and I had two further ones booked. No upgrade.

Gold/Platinum customers didn't seem to be getting much

People on their second / third cruises with nothing booked for the future seemed to be more likely to get upgraded.

If this was deliberate (and I'm not saying that it was) then it does make some sense from a marketing point of view. Give the upgrades to those people who are showing they like the brand, but may not necessarily be loyal yet. Don't worry as much about those who are already showing signs of loyalty.

If this theory is actually right, then the OP with his 14 latitudes points may be more likely than gold/platinum members to get the decent allocation.

Or it may all be nonsense of course. :)

    :( Platinum 119 points

  3. So, I have been golfing for 5 years, when I go out it is called "LOT Golf", Lack of Talent Golf.

Can those of you who have golfed Bermuda, can you rate the courses form easiest to hardest?

(I am hearing Ocean View is the best for starters)

  4. Tried to call my PCC today and her voicemail said she is a Last a Minute Cruise Specialist. Anybody heard of this position? Did I just lose my PCC? Hope she will return my call so I can get more info.

Sent from my iPad using Forums

Friday NCL called, it was my new PCC, he said the last one was promoted. Never heard of the position.

  5. Good place to start. Think about the Norwegian Getaway out of Miami. Great new ship.

Bermuda was one of my first cruises,,, the Dawn from Boston or Breakaway from NYC. Nice island and nice people. 3 days, the ship is your hotel.

Breakfast & Diner on the ship, lunch on the island.

  6. This is our first time on NCL and we also noticed the price change tonight, We dont have PCC how do we get price adjusted? Do they give it to you as OBC? Can you get more than one price adjustment?

Call who you booked it with and they'll them of the price change, if before the final payment they change it. Yes, one of my cruise, the price dropped 3 time, I asked for the lower price each time.

  7. GTY Balcony on the Breakaway

So, I cruise each Oct with DW and we are doing the Breakaway to Florida/Bahamas again. I picked a GTY BX Balcony. Now the DW and I have cruise NCL a number of time but never on a GTY cabin.

Now the Breakaway has no bad balcony cabins in my option so I don’t see a down side to this choose, only upside. We will get a BX, what we paid for or an upgrade, but we will get a balcony.

For those that have cruised a GTY cabin, am I missing something???????

  8. I can almost garentee they won't be.. and that's coming from a die hard Ranger fan. The only sports they ever show are cricket. football, or soccer. My last cruise was during the world series and they did not even show the World Series.

Let's hope the blueshirts make it that far were they'll be playing next week!

rbelfi, we were on In Oct also the week of the ALCS/NLCS, they showed only the NLCS, when asked I was told "We access to only one game". When the NLCS was finished and one ALCS was left, they did not pay it.

In March on St Patricks week,,, all Cricket, all channels all week.

  9. So.... after a Oct cruise on the breakaway, we returned home to a letter from Foxwoods giving me a 7 day cruise.

I looked at the options that were out there and my birthday week was there, so thats it.

We set sail on Sunday, Monday is a sea day and... St Patricks Day. I am shopping for green pants, a green T-Shirt with a great theme. I looked at Party City and there are GREAT things to add, hats and orange spray for my gray hair.

On Tuesday is Florida and by birthday, I am looking for ideas. I am thinking of Disney but DW doesn't want to. We have done this trip 5 other times so we have done all the other chooses.

I have purchased a T-Shirt says "I just turned 50, while don't your buy me a beer. Now I think that will work; it is Spring Break.

    Looking forward to the week.

  10. WOW,,, I have done the daily stop and goes; Mexico, Europe, Florida; I like stopping and exploring the island.

Being from P.A a trip out of NYC is a good way the go, Sunday to Sunday. And the Breakaway is a nice way to do it.

  11. Booking a hotel for the night prior to the cruise is adequate a majority of the time even in the winter. To always book more days in advance may start your vacation sooner, but some folks don't have time for that.

I always have something come up when I take flights, like airline union strikes and the like. Hurricanes or other natural things. It seems nothing can ever be worry free.

I do like cruising out of Boston and even NY/NJ. Boston one hour away and NYC six hours away. Realatively a short ride that could be made early AM if required.

We have always gone in the night before; Europe & out of Miami; on the ones out of NYC we always drive to the Meadowlands area the night before.

Regarding insurance, I think that it is only covered if you book the airfare via NCL.
