  1. Since we have never been to Belize before, do they sell any type of spices, or vanilla, or anything like that?

Does Belize have a beach for just laying out in the sun, but no snorkeling or tubing, etc.?

Belize does great chocolate and they do great hot sauce and they do great rum

  2. My friends and I are cruising on the Carnival Glory next month. We are going to Belize, Cozumel, Roatan and Grand Cayman. We were thinking of doing a tour in Belize that includes ziplining but I'm not sure if this would be the best island for us to do this on. I'm looking for some feedback. Thank you so much in advance and happy sailing!!

    Belize is a country

  3. We'd like to go to a place like Caye Caulker, but the 45 min boat ride is a deal breaker. Is there another Caye that's similar to Caulker but closer?

    No..

  4. Roatan is a pretty standard typical Caribbean island. I will say there is no Old Colonial architecture on the island. The beaches are typical Caribbean beaches. The island is quite hilly. Roatan is primarily a snorkeling diving destination. The island is equipped with your typical tourist eating and shopping.

  5. Not sure if there has been a change but Tropic Air and Maya air had 10 minute flights between Belize Muni and CC.A few years ago we considered ferrying over and flying back but decided to stick with the ferry because our port time limited our time there.

The water taxi/ferry is the same. You can rent a golf cart on CC if you want to explore more.

This is been covered already in this thread there are currently no flights of any kind to Caye Caulker. Reread post 8

  6. We are still debating Maya Key or Daniel Johnson’s but I have a few misgivings. Can anyone here who has handled monkeys, sloths or parrots at these two locations answer a few questions?

We’re you ever bitten or scratched? If so, did you need any kind of treatment?

    Did you notice any fleas?

Did the animals look healthy and well cared for? Did you get the feeling they were being mistreated or exploited?

Did you put anything on a customs form about handling wild animals? If so, were you questioned?

Based on experience, did you feel comfortable handling these animals? Would you do it again?

Thank you so much for your input!

There is the not leaving Wildlife Alone and announcing it on a travel board. That's one bad effect.
