  1. I've been reading on here about people buying their drink package during deals or sales. How are you finding out about it? Do they email you the sale, or is it looking at the website? Or do you have to log in everyday and one day it might pop up? My booking is not listed right now (probably due to the whole having to change ships due to dry dock) but I don't want to miss any sales. So I'm not sure if they'll send me any emails. How else can I find the deals?

  2. When you call Verizon or log into account that is the "travel pass" that are good in ports....no US. 5 bucks Canada and Mexico a day and only billed if used in 24 hour period. It's 10 in other countries. They have a "pay go" plan that includes cruise ships. Which is what you are referring to. They also have a 25 and 40 a month pkgs 40 a month give you 100 talk mins 100 text out unlimited in and 100mb data. The 25 makes talk 1.79 .50 sent and .05 received texts and also 100mb. The unlimited wifi added 6 bucks to my beverage pkg.

I feel like I've read this "add on to beverage package somewhere else before" Please clarify, if you get the unlimited beverage package, there is a deal where you can also get internet for a reduced price?

  3. Mine wasn't cancelled due to hurricanes, but due to the cruise line deciding to dry dock in my month. Ya, TONS of things with the wrong date printed on them now. They were able to change us to another ship the same dates though and help with airfare to change location, plus gave every room more OBC. But it still puts me out tons of money. I have a land coordinator, and THNAK GOD she is available and willing to change days and times, but my venue is not available and all the times had to change, and the cruise line was not willing to budge AT ALL on helping to make the situation better for me the organizer. I have 100 paid guests!

  4. how did the get married on land work out? im trying to book mine for next year in Nassau, but confused on the land or ship. i want the land but they make it seem like its so hard to get your guest there.

It is a little harder. Transportation is one of the biggest costs. I'm using an on land coordinator. Though I'm having massive problems, NONE of them have been related to them. All with the ship. I would have HATED to be dealing with Royal Weddings during all the changes. The on land coordinator was reliable and VERY easy to reach. And less than 1/2 the cost of the ship one. If you're doing it on ship, then it may be OK to use them.

  5. I did put down a non refundable deposit and honestly I have no idea what I am doing now. How about you?

paid the nonrefundable deposit and half the wedding cost. Luckily my coordinator was still available on the Sunday. But sadly, with the time change, she says there are usually a lot of cruise passengers at the location we are using. I don't mind spectators, but I DO mind tons of people in bathing suits in the wedding pictures I will A. have the rest of my life, and B. am paying a million dollars for. :o Her next option was to go to a further location but it will cost me THOUSANDS more. (cost of location and renting the transportation for longer):( so I'm losing out regardless. Yet the cruise line isn't trying to help at all. (Or it may be my travel agent who isn't really helping. I'm not sure at this point)

  6. So you would suggest calling and explaining the situation? My husband only drinks like 1 or 2 glasses of wine in a day, I can drink like a fish (on vacation). We already bring on 2 bottles of wine, so he's set (we are taking a 3 day.) So to HAVE to spend $200 for him when he won't use it is ridiculous. And the ship has screwed me of enough money already.

So...better to try to pay for just one online, or to call in?

  7. Hello everyone! I'm also a 2018 bride. I recently booked a wedding cruise package for 8/31/2018 for the Majesty of the Seas with Royal Caribbean (3 day cruise to Bahamas). Anyone have any experience with that? I can't find what venues they have.

Majesty is going into dry dock in February. Lucky you (catastrophic for me). So there will be upgrades. They may add a restaurant too. I would wait on deciding location till u ask them what new options you have! It should be much nicer.

  8. so.....89 passengers booked, 12 to go, my TAgot the news the ship is going into dry dock:mad::loudcry: I know things happen, but MONTHS of planning down the drain. I now have to contact ALL mygueststo talk about changes and tons of other stuff. In the meantime...I've been researchingMajesty for over a year. They will move us to enchantment. Anyone have advice, pictures, stories from weddings through this ship? This also means the wedding is on the last day of the cruise. Any advice on that?

  9. We received our email today that the Feb 5th Majesty was cancelled. Extended dry dock. We are on the Oasis the week before, planned to spend one night at Cape Canaveral then board the Majesty ( We were going to use our Royal Caribb VISA points for a "free" cruise. We are offered the 4 night Enchantment OTS at the same cost . Zero from zero is zero. It goes out of Miami. We did it, retired, what the heck ! Had to change air . Fly to Orlando for the Oasis cruise but out of Ft Lauderdale to home after the Enchantment. We got $100 OB credit. I just finished making all the details....change hotel, car rental, air............We really like the Enchantment so we are happy!

Please put me at ease....advantages to enchantment over majesty in your opinion are.....?

  10. FYI- I was just informed majesty of the seas is going into dry dock in Feb so all cruises have been canceled. This causes MAJOR problems for us, but what can we do:loudcry:. Just haven't seen it posted here yet so thought I would post.

Lol.....when I searched majesty dry dock nothing came up. So I posted that then it got moved here. I'm gonna go read what talks thoughts are, but y'all, were MAJORLY screwed.

I would like to know....when did you all find this out, as I JUST did and people have been booking for the last few months

  11. can i buy OBC for someone? I saw there are gift certificates, but they have to be redeemed 10 days before the cruise. I wanted them to have it and tell them right before they cruise that I gifted it to them to use. I wouldn't mind just buying the things i want them to get, but i can't figure out how to do that either. (i want to buy them a few hours of online time and a picture from a photographer) But i don't mind OBC and they can just pay for the stuff with that. Any info will help. Thanks (I'm overseas so calling RCI is not a good option)

  12. Would you mind posting pics of your dinner table? Did the staff put it on for you and do you feel it was worth the energy? Also, will you do table décor for the upcoming trip? I know it's a lot more people hence more table, so will you put décor on them all?

Somehow I missed this post -- we were already aboard the Ruby when you posted, so that may be why. Did you end up booking the Ruby? I see NCL in your signature, so wondering if you booked with them instead. I did do a thorough photo review of our renewal when we got back, and there is a link to it in my signature. We are booked on the Ruby again, late March 2018 for our 25th anniversary. Time for another renewal ;-). This is the actual trip we've planned on for a while -- this past January was a spontaneous decision just to check it out in advance of our 25th. We have 12 people joining us, so far, for our upcoming cruise. Can't wait!!
  13. So my coordinator got back to me. She found they charge about $350/hr. Now I'm torn......it would be really nice to have and such a great Caribbean feel while we're eating cake and chilling on the beach after the ceremony. But is it really worth it. That's a lot of money :o

  14. It's been a while. And there has been DDRRRAAAAMMMMAAA! So I had paid deposits for 30 rooms to secure the rate. I always had in mind that if I got close to all my rooms being full, I would get more rooms. I also knew that I had to make some payments depending on number of guests by September, so I told everyone the deposit due date was the end of July. So I started tracking how many rooms I had starting in March. Come June, I still only had about 8 rooms taken. I went home to where all my family lives and gave them formal invites at the end of June (they had the STD, and website with all the info since February) Well. of course, my family being my family, all booked at the end of July. I went to look into booking more rooms, they all DOUBLED in price. Let me tell you, paying OVER $600/pp for a weekend cruise to Bahamas is the most REDICULOUS thing I ever hear. I've gone on week long cruises for way less then that. The thing is, TONS of people on the grooms side hadn't booked yet. Not even his parents!! So I started messaging them like crazy explaining if they didn't book within my rooms, they'd have to pay double. They FINALLY booked but none of the rest of his people (including his Grandmother, brother/bestman, and groomsmen) so I told my fiancée they'd all have to pay full price. Then the drama started.

He said it was ridiculous for people to pay that much or even ask them to pay that much to go to a 3 day wedding. (Though I agreed, the thing is, if they had booked on time, they would have gotten it for the regular rate, and I would have been able to book more rooms. But they didn't) I told him, I would understand if the groomsmen and other family wanted to just fly to the island and go to the wedding and just miss the reception back on board. He got upset and said well if none of his friends and family would be on the ship why should he!! (Why do men (no offense to those of you who aren't like this) have to be so DIFFICULT). When I tell you I literally spent 2 days NOT SLEEPING trying to figure out how we could get around this while he slept effortlessly........ I screamed, I cried, I stressed....everything. He was convinced it was just the TA way to make more money. And our TA was honestly not really interested in helping us find better rates. I kept checking the website, and the prices of JUST that 1 cruise have started t over $1200 for an inside room even to this date!

Thank GOD....I got the brilliant idea to put the cruise search on a sit that compares agents prices just to see if ANYONE was offering something lower.....and low and behold, there were like 2. While all the other companies were quoting $1300-1600 if INSIDE cabins, they had booked rooms in a group booking before the prices went up. So I quickly grabbed 1 of the companies last 11 rooms. I know 3 of the rooms have been taken by mutual friends, but still don't think his family or groomsmen have booked >: ( . I've tried to tell myself, if for some reason they still don't book, don't stress. The wedding will go on as planned, even if it's just my family only and we have to do a whole nother land wedding for his friends and family lol (That HE of course would have to plan and pay for). Anyways....115 RSVP, 40 rooms/85 guests paid for at this point.

My advice.....if your wedding is onshore and prices of your cruise have went up drastically.....you can use another TA who my still have better prices.

    Until next time.....

  15. Hello, all! Just checking in! I hope everyone is having better luck with the wedding planning process!

We were re-assigned to a wedding coordinator named Julie, but we have mostly been in contact with one of the program managers named Sandy who has been extremely helpful! We had quite a few issues over the past month, one of which included our reservation accidentally being cancelled! In the midst of us freaking out, Sandy took care of everything and has been absolutely wonderful. Of course, we are still nervous about how the rest of the process will unfold, but one step at a time.

Has anyone here thought about what they are going to do regarding music for the reception? We are interested in the DJ option for the reception given the number of people we have attending, but the fine print on our contract states that the staff member assigned to play the music will not make any announcements or take song requests. We are trying to figure out how to get around this because it is very important for us to be able to have our first dance together as husband and wife, as well as the father/daughter and mother/son dances.

And yes, if anyone has already had their wedding on board and has pictures to share, would love to see them!

Someone in another thread talked about a DJ request form in which they could say songs they wanted and for what. I plan to be VERY specific about what the DJ plays so would be upset if they don't allow it. (I want 1st dances, and group line dances and stuff...yes I'm THAT person lol) I would try to ask the coordinator about that. Others have said their DJ was great. I plan to have my brother MC as he is funny, knows everyone's names, and I can tell him EXACTLY what, how, and when I want things planned. Then he can work WITH the DJ.

  16. Thank you! I did find 2 of those and sent emails, but have not got a response. I am aware though that they have probably been preparing for the storm, so will try to be patient. I wish places these days just listed prices on their websites instead of making you contact them for quotes. In the meantime, I will try the 3rd link you sent. I appreciate the help
