  1. There are a lot of nice things to do around Yokohama for a few hours with luggage storage. I would also like to add Manyo Club which is a large onsen/sento where you can store your luggage and enjoy hot baths, jacuzzis, heated stone lounges, relaxing loungers that lie flat, etc. We are choosing that option for the morning because I often don't get enough sleep on the ship the night before, so this way we can relax and I can snooze a little more if I need to.

  2. Would love to hear on this topic too! So far I am considering visiting Naminoue Shrine/Beach and Fukushuen Park, both walkable within 15 minutes of the cruise port. Another 15 minutes away from Fukushuen Park is Shikinaen Park and Kokusai Dori Market/Street.

We used Blands Travel in August and did the full tour with the WWII tunnels, monkeys etc. The tour itself was great, however locating the meeting point was hard to locate and taxis were nonexistent, we ended  walking the whole way. Again, discreet car garage location but in the end all was good.

You mean the taxis for the tours no longer line up by the cruise ships?

  4. I haven't read all of the other posts but I will say we cruise a lot and choose to do Japan via a land tour on our own. We actually flew from Tokyo to Osaka to get to Kyoto and had no regrets as we got to see Osaka as well for a day and that was a real treat. We loved pretty much everything about Japan. From the food we got to wandering around the temples to the wonderful onsens and bath houses at night. There is so much we would have missed if we did it by a cruise.

  5. Hello! I was kindly upgraded to an aft balcony. It is on Deck 14. When I was last on the Escape, Deck 12 (fantastic size balcony by the way) we could clearly hear Spice H20 at night from our balcony. How is the noise from H2O at night for the 14th level aft balconies? Does it carry into the rooms?

    Thanks so VERY much!!

  6. I'm sailing on the Epic in February and have a spa pass and the UBP. Am I understanding you correctly that there is alcohol service in the spa? Can you supply details or have I just misunderstood?

I was referring to posh in the third sentence compared to other places around the ship. The loungers are really nice in the spa too.

  7. It sounds like you had a great time with a couple of hiccups along the way. The statement about inconsitent service seems to be a reacuring theme since the Epic docked at PC. I hope they get it squared away before my March cruise. If not we will still have a great time. Good food and drinks in the middle of the ocean....we will have a good time.

The food is outstanding on the ship and the drinks I had were delicious. Expect things may go wrong and you will be packing late or at customer service the last day and enjoy the rest of the trip.

  8. Do you know how difficult it was for non-haven people to get posh tickets? If you went to posh, how was it? We're sailing next week and are trying to get to the port early.

I have done posh before. You need to be in the early group to get posh and go directly to customer service. I prefer the aft balcony of the spa, less windy, but others love posh. The loungers are much more comfortable and you don't have to worry about rushing to get a spot, plus alcohol service is excellent.
