  1. I used Nativeway last year, they did a good job although the group I was with was rather unpleasant - an hour late and when I sat next to them on the top part of the boat gave me dirty looks then covered up my spot with a bag and refused to budge after I went down to use the restroom. So my only complaint was the over-accommodation for a group that was so rude, but what could they have done? Otherwise the crew was great - very friendly - plenty of seats - (top area seats 6 - 8) - plenty of juice - plenty of time with the Stingrays. I liked Rum Point Beach but it wasn't a must do for me since it's hard for me to relax when I'm on such a short time limit. I would book Nativeway again in a heartbeat, but I would probably only do Rum Point if I had a private group going.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Panic not, there is still the balcony. Very little changed, if anything at all, that I can recall.

Thank you! The two Balinese beds out on the Spa Balcony are my spots of choice. I'd have to upgrade to Haven to get my next spot of choice and I wasn't planning on the extra $$$ for this trip.

    Feeling comforted...

  3. I went though all the pics and skimmed some of the headings. Does anyone know if they updated the Thermal Spa Area? I imagine it was cleaned, but the latest pic shows it with the curtain closed and I am panicking they may have removed the outdoor area  - which is my favorite and why I buy the spa pass.

  4. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Epic! I've been on almost all of NCL's ships except Dawn, Breakaway, Spirit and Star - and the Epic is hands down my favorite. I love the aft view from the spa outside, I like the bathroom set-up, really enjoy the large balconies, and my favorite spot in Haven is the Casual Coffee/Bar area just outside of the restaurant. That being said there are plenty of cool spots on the Escapes and it is similar, but when something wins your heart so completely as Epic it did mine nothing else has been quite as special for me. :)

  5. The current price for the spa pass is $149 for a 7 night cruise. I don't know what the 16 night cruise will be. I'm heading on a 10 night cruise in a few weeks, I am crossing my fingers it isn't over $199.

  6. As mentioned above there is a bank of elevators that go to the 16th floor, and one elevator outside the Great Outdoors food area (before the pool) that goes to the 16th, 17th, and 18th floors. One of the floors is access directly into the Haven Lounge Area, and another is the access to Posh.

  7. The Spa Pass on the Pearl was $119 for 7 days last year, but the price has now gone up fleet-wide. It will be between $149 - $199 for 7 days.

I am waiting to find out how much the spa pass is for 10 days on the Pearl.

  8. Hello -

I am planning on heading to Jewel Dunns River Falls Resort. I contacted the resort directly and was surprised they don't offer a shuttle. I have contacted previous tour guides for transfer and it is high - no surprise. How much should the cost of a taxi from the Ocho Rios port be? I'm used to MoBay prices, and know I won't get that there.

    Thanks much!!

  9. I used Peat Taylor Tour without any issues. Peat Jr. only took our group of 5 and we went to Coyaba Water Garden and the Blue Hole. He also stopped at a grocery store for us and was very friendly. We had a great day. While we were at Coyaba he shuttled another group to Dunns River and was back for us at the end of the tour. We knew that upfront and there were no issues - he was right on time!!

We did not go to the Beach with him so I can't comment on that.

  10. Hello -

It's been a couple of years since I last went to Paradise Beach and it was in the afternoon to evening so I was staying in Cozumel and by 4pm everyone was gone. It was nice and peaceful - and kind of eerie.

I would like to visit one of the beach resorts - Mr. Sanchos, Paradise, etc. but I don't want to be where they are blasting the music. I don't mind it on, just don't want it really loud. Any suggestions?

  11. Thank you so much for your review! I just planned a last minute trip on the Epic in two weeks so it is really helping me get a feel for it. I've been on the Pearl, Jewel, Jade, and PoAm, but this ship is very different.

I do have one question - was the $199 for both of you for the spa? I was planning on $119 (since it is just me this trip) and will be really bummed if it's gone up to $199.

  12. A few years ago, you could get them at Cagney's for an up charge. They were great! I think it's a thing of the past

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

I saw a picture of crab legs in a review someone had posted several years ago and it looked like Cagney's so this makes sense. With Cagney's at $30pp paying extra for king crab versus just going to Tracy's doesn't really make sense anyways.

  13. If you'd like some Alaskan King Crab, while stopped in Juneau do go to Tracy's Crab Shack. It is on the waterfront right down town. They serve crab legs, crab bisque and crab cakes. Excellent. King crab is expensive, but Tracy's is about half the price of the other restaurants in town, and Tracy's is where the locals go. It's just a walk up outdoor place. You can search the web site on Google if you wish.

Thank you. We are aware of Tracy's, but was hoping for something onboard. :D

  14. Mid May is probably too cold . Much of the ice around the glacier probably wouldn't have melted. If it is the west coast of BC ,it is near the end of high water season.

Hey Kamloops - Good Point! We contacted Beyond Alaska and they said most likely the ice on the lake will have melted, but there is a small chance not all of it has melted, in which case we would need to do something else.

  15. Sitka Alaska. Didn't have the typical Diamonds International/Souvenir shops lining the streets. Quaint and quiet. Especially if you can get to the Raptor Center in the rain forest behind it, there are benches. We sat there and just listened to the quiet for quite awhile. Then continued down the hill to the Cultural Center and saw them carving totems and dancing.

For Alaska cruise ports, that would be my fav.

For towns, I have to place Dawson City Yukon in first place. Think gold rush days and picture the towns. Wooden boardwalks, dirt streets, quiet walks along the Yukon River. TOTALLY AWESOME!

Wow, that sounds fantastic! We are heading to Sitka for the first time this May. I have a wildlife boat trip planned with Sitka Sound that I am super excited about, and then after planned to go to Sitka Raptor Center. So great that is will be relaxing.
