The basic answer is no. The value package is not internet, just messaging. I had the top notch plan and could not effectively stream anything. I never got more than 3 Mb of internet signal, less than an old iPhone
The value package is supposed to be internet. Social is just messaging

We leave Sunday on the breeze. Can't decide what package to get. It says snapchat works with the $4 per day plan. Can you really talk via stream with that plan? Value plan? I used snapchat in Cancun with the WiFi in my hotel. Worked perfect.

Go to Passion Island Via Twister boat in Cozumel. We do it next week. Soooooo excited. Gonna be puking by the time we get there.😂

Sad. But I'll probably never try Disney. Don't mean to repeat myself but why spend 5k more for a week when you don't have to. Just think of the 2k you could splurge on extra stuff on Carnival and be 3k ahead to book your next cruise. I don't care how rich you are. Just why would ya?. I'm on the Breeze Sunday. I'll let you know if my 7 and 12 year old will be just fine.

I don't care how great DCL is, I won't be sailing on them. I am a single parent who has to save for a year to go on vacation. We just did Disney parks last month, and that was a lot, but a cruise on DCL? Way out of my price range. If people can afford it great, if they prefer it, even better, but thanks, I'll stick with Carnival for now. Not a bad product for the price.
I'm with you Deb. I'm a single parent as well.
The cruise cost is one thing. But factor cheers, all the excursions, etc it really adds up.
You can get a suite in Carnival and it's still way cheaper than Disney.

Galveston Limo has shuttle vans from both airports. If you book online it's only $45 each. We are using them this Sunday for our Breeze cruise

I'll be in my Cove balcony on the Breeze this Sunday! I just recommend staying under where there is no action. Like don't stay under the galley

Well, number one, you are comparing everything with the basic cruise, low end Carnival. No cruise line offers such a cheap (as both in money and product) as Carnival. So every thing you look at is priced higher. With Disney being way up there in price. If you go to Orlando, you can easily find a hotel room for $50.00 a night within a few mile of Disney. But you get a hard bed with little critters running around. Go on the Disney property, and you will have a magical experience, with a quality product. Of course the food might not be 5 star etc, but you know the quality is better.
If you can afford it, go on the better vacation, only you can decide if it is worth the better and magical experience.
Like we said earlier. To a kiddo, any cruise is magical. I'd rather go on a good one every year instead of one great one every 3 or 4 years

Me, I'd rather go on three good cruises than one great one. Of course, if money wasn't a concern I'd prefer three great ones. :-)
Exactly. I think my kids would rather go on a good cruise every year... instead of a great mickey mouse cruise every 3 or 4 years. It's all about the $$$ I guess.

Thank you. We are on the Breeze in 5 days

My regulars at work said Disney is night and day better than Carnival and worth the money. But 3k vs 8k to 10k is just not justifiable to me. If it was 1k or 2k maybe. But not an extra 5k just to say I went on Disney

It's outrageous. It's like $3500 compared to $8000 to $10000 for an upcoming cruise the 4 of us are looking at. Is the food quality , entertainment, atmosphere really worth the 3 times the price?
-
It's the time of year. Summer cruises I would not wait more than 90 days before sailing. My cruise this Sunday has been 100% booked for a while. Winter you can get more last minute stuff.

My nieces had the Social and Snapchat worked great. I got the Value because I wanted to check my email and post on here. Other than that if those things aren't important, then stay with the Social. No experience with the Premium because the Value speed was fine.
Thank you
-
Has anyone got the social plan and uses Snapchat? Or Value plan?
Is the premium plan really that much better than value?

I'm glad Shelbel told me about Errol. He has been really helpful with our trip. Returns our emails daily. I'm looking forward to a local excited to give us a private tour and teach us about the Jamaica way of life. He is going to take us to all the fun places

When we were on the Glory in May, we bought the social package for the week. Speeds varied quite a bit. We had to take turns because only one person could access it at the same time.
But if we all got the social package we wouldn't have to take turns right?

Get a massage on the beach! Fraction of the cost on the ship.

We are on the Breeze the 9th. Can't decide which package to get. 3 of us in 1 room. Can we all get a different packages in the same room? I just want the $4 a day social. Might get the kids the value.
Is the value or premium worth it? From what I have read, even the premium package is slower than $#@&.
Any input would be great!

I just got my AARP card yesterday. Our cruise is next Sunday. Oh well. Next time I guess
-
I prepay plus bring $200 in 1s for extra tipping throughout the week.
I like to give my waiters in the MDR, the room steward, and the Alchemy bartenders all $20 the first night so we are well taken care of all week.

We are on the breeze in 9 days. We got a great deal on air. $200 round trip from Denver going to galveston

So glad I was able to change our cove balcony. I'm looking forward to it this cruise. But I'll probably book a higher balcony next time.
Why is Disney so much more than Carnival?

I hear ya breezy. Thrill theatre and that whole deck is gonna be awesome. I'll take the Cat and the Hat instead of Mickey Mouse and have tons more cash to spoil them on our trip. Don't get me wrong. If I made millions every year I wouldn't even question this. I make good money at my job. But I'd rather go on a good cruise and buy my kids what ever they want (well kinda lol). Then spend $1000s on a cruise and penny pinch on board. To each their own. Can't wait for our cruise Sunday. Hope I don't even think about DCL.
