  2. I received a "Royal Up" offer for our Alaska Cruise in June, but once I realized that our gratuity would also be charged more, than it is less appealing. "Q. If my client is upgraded to a higher category stateroom with RoyalUp, will they have to pay a gratuity amount based on the new upgraded category? A. Yes, by upgrading to a higher stateroom category, each guest in the booking may be subject to a higher gratuity amount. The Offer Amount does not include the higher gratuity. If the Offer is accepted, the difference between the original and upgraded stateroom gratuities (if applicable) will be automatically applied to all guests (the “Additional Charges”)."
  3. We used the app on Carnival in 2017, but we are on Royal Caribbean this year and the roll out of their app has not reached our ship, so no using an app for communicating. I'll be in Alaska, with a land portion before the cruise and Alaska doesn't always have cell service everywhere. Also will be in and out of Canada and taking both Amtrak and the Alaska Railroad, so I'll be bringing 2 GoTenna Mesh units and will see if they will be useful. I've tested them at home and they work, but similar to walkie-talkies, so not very far.
