  1. I logged on this morning just to see if something changed since last week. I put in the info for my June cruise out of New Jersey (which I don’t actually need a flight for). After putting in the cruise info and hitting “search flights” I then am given the option to change dates. I searched for flights arriving 2 days before the cruise and leaving 1 day after, and it worked fine.

No idea why I can do it and you guys can’t, but it does work.

This picture is what the second screen looks like

No can do, can not even book a one way flight online. Have to call and talk to a rep to get anything done. One way Delta flight from San Diego to Seattle was almost double booking with air2sea. Things are opening back up, but very slowly.

That is really weird. Just last week I was able to book my flight to Amsterdam leaving three days before sail date.

When I go to Air2Sea have to enter the ship and cruise date. It only gives me flight options going the day of the cruise

You should be able to select other dates. Enter your cruise info, the date of your cruise will be the default choice, click it and you should be able to change it.

I'm trying to find Bonaire too! It's by far the best of the three 🙁, no desire to do just Aruba and Curacao!

Does anyone see a southern route with a stop in Bonaire in November 23’? Any chance they are still loading?

If I am looking for a specific port i Google that port + Royal Caribbean, that takes me to a page like this:

    https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-to/kralendijk-bonaire?&country=USA

from there go down to “best deals” and scroll all the way to the right, you will see “view all itineraries”

    Thanks, that is good info.

Just for clarification, only the children get tested and the adults only present the necessary tests results and the vax card.

That’s the way it was months ago.

I don’t know if they are still doing it, but back in the summer they had coloring sheets and crayons for the kids while they were waiting, and were playing music with a good beat (my two year old was up dancing and she wasn’t the only one).

  6. Like Rkhooker above me, we spent no time in our room at all on our 7 day Mediterranean, it was solely for showering and sleeping.

We went with an interior and are so glad we did. The room was in near total darkness, so we slept really well and were recharged every day (and we were able to sleep in on the one sea day without the sun coming through any blinds).

I would really recommend an interior. maybe even 2 right next to or across from each other, that total cost will probably be cheaper than your one balcony room

Outside of the transportation, the major benefit of a cruise line excursion is the skip the line benefits at major sites, like the coliseum or Vatican. Instead of having to get to Rome, then secure tickets, and wait for admission, your guide will usually escort you directly past the often hours long lines for whatever top sites are on your tour.

When we did the Vatican cruise line tour, we got a chunk of the Vatican museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s in the space of a few hours, with a certified Italian tour guide who was incredibly knowledgeable. Worth every cent.

This is true, but private tours will do the same thing, you get more time at the sites, and can move along as soon as you are done.

  8. Last August we cruised with our 2 year old daughter to St Maarten and St Thomas (so rules might be different now, but all the language was the same).

We were kept together, masked, for the majority of the time. When there was free time we hung out in a central location and were given a short amount of time to walk around a set area, but also a reminder to keep masks on and socially distance.

At the end of the excursion we were dropped off a little distance from the ship. When we first checked in on the ship the RC staff did ask those of us with kids to make our way right back to the ship, and every family complied.

When we were in St Maarten we did a morning excursion with our daughter, brought her to the nursery on board the ship, and then my wife and I went back out for free time in the afternoon.

  9. We’ve seen the occasional lecture, sometimes on the areas we were visiting, sometimes on random topics, but they almost always had very small attendance.

EXCEPT for our cruise to Cuba in 2018 (which was on Carnival), where the lecturer split her talk into three categories, about 75 minutes each over 3 days. The room was PACKED (including people standing in the back and through the doors, for each one. That cruise was definitely a really cool experience where for almost everybody on board it was all about how special going to Cuba was, especially since we knew there was a good chance that opportunity would be gone shortly.

  10. Royal definitely did this, at least back in 2017 when we did our Mediterranean cruise.

while it was definitely more expensive two book through the cruise line we found the packaging the hotel with Air2Sea actually ended up working really great for us. It included a private transfer to the hotel and a bus from the hotel to the port.

Our flight to Barcelona ended up being over 12 hours late due to weather, And just like they took care of figuring out our flights they also took care of making sure our driver knew when to actually meet us, and communicated with the hotel to let them know about the extremely late check-in.

we were originally supposed to meet a friend who lived in Barcelona to hang out, and we decided to meet him for breakfast the next day instead and just walk to the port. When I went downstairs in the morning to tell the Royal Caribbean staff members that we would not be on the shuttle bus he asked if we still wanted to check in all of our luggage so that we could walk around the city with just our carry-ons, a wonderful offer which we gladly accepted.

i’m not sure my wife and I would book a hotel through the cruise line again, but at least this one time it really was worth it.

  11. Once I was off work I was able to call. The woman I spoke to said as long as it is before final payment date for your cruise you can do a price drop, but it would work the same way it does on Cruise Planner, where you would cancel your order and then place a new order at the lower price.

We are travelling on Allure in December with our  3 year old granddaughter.

So - her parents will get "12 hours" of time to use Adventure Ocean but then can schedule more time? Did it ever fill up and you weren't able to get time? Did they make the kids wear masks the whole time?

thanks for any additional info about the kids club.

Last week on Allure a few time slots did fill up, mostly evenings. After everyone had a chance to register for time on day 1 they allowed families to make additional reservations. Yes, masks were required for everyone 2 and up

Does anyone know  if the ship excursions are limited capacity due to covid?  I never do ship tours I always book private tours.  It seems to me a child in a private tour is safer than being loaded onto a bus of 50-100 other people.

It isn’t about safety, it is about contact tracing and limiting the number of locals you come into contact with.

The two excursions we did last week both had relatively low numbers.
